I love the stretch I get st prenatal yoga - not to mention all the other benefits, like connecting with other pregnant ladies. My back hasn't been too sore yet, but it sure is today after spending too much time on my feet in the last few days. I'm really looking forward to yoga tonight! Plus the occasional back rub from hubby helps too :)

Hello everyone.

Sorry for my MIA, been busy with the school semester nearing to an end.

Dawnkey- sorry for your loss. Glad to hear all is well with baby and ur having a girl

Auburn - can't wait to see pics of your little girl's new room and big girl bed

For my back pain/sciatic I have been going to chiro which has been an enormous help. I sleep with a magnitude of pillows to keep me side lying. I miss sleeping on my tummy, it was so comforting.

I had my GD test last week. I see my OB in a few days. I didn't get a call from them saying anything about the test, so hoping that no news is good news pans out.

My bestie is an u/s tech. They got a new 3d u/s machine at their office so I went in on a lunch hour and got a scan done. It was very cool to see baby in that view. After the 3D u/s my friend had more time on her lunch hour so wanted to just do a regular anatomy scan and see how baby looked. I'm 26w... baby is measuring at 28w for head circ, arm length, and femur length, also weight is closer to 28w mark than 26w. looks like it will be a big baby - hence im anxious to know the actual results of my GD test. then again, some babes grow quick and then taper out- so that could be it too. I'll discuss with my ob to send me for an official scan so they have the measurements of babe on record.

How is everyone feeling? I've been experiencing a lot of heart burn - it feels like a frog in my throat, it sometimes makes me gag.

Super lucky to have a bestie u/s tech!  My DS measured 2 to 3 weeks big through my whole pregnancy (no GD), and 2 weeks before my due date they estimated his weight at 10+ lbs.  I was terrified!  They measured his feet and told me they were the same size as a 2 year olds feet!  But when he was born he was 8 lbs and his feet were so small that newborn socks fell off him.  His feet only got to the same size as a 2 year olds when he turned 4!  So I feel like those measurements aren't always right!  At least I hope not, because I'm measuring ahead again too......eep!

EverHopefull - Those were some wonky measurements!  I mean I know ultrasounds aren't perfect, but to be out on a foot measurement by INCHES?!  Seriously!  My daughter measured a week ahead throughout my last pregnancy and had a 99th percentile head circumference and abdominal circumference too.  So I knew she was going to be on the bigger side, but nobody expected her to be the 10lb 9oz she came out as!  I am definitely hoping this one is more of a normal size, as my last one came out basically a month old!  There were some advantages though (seeing past the whole pushing her out of me side of things...) like she was able to eat a lot more per feeding, which helped her sleep better.  The body can do some amazing things though, when it comes to bringing your baby into the world... Likely TMI but I didn't even have any tearing when she was born!

(I'm still trying to picture a newborn with size 7 feet....!!)

Yep, it was a bit wonky!  I wish they hadn't even told me, because all it did was cause me stress for no reason.  There wasn't anything I could do about it anyway, so there was no sense scaring me over it.  DS is almost 6 and he's still only wearing size 11's.  All his friends look like they have big bird feet to me!

I just had the same conversation with my midwife at my last appointment.  At first, after Kira was born, I wished they had given me a heads up that I was going to be having a big baby (they admitted that they expected her to be about 9lbs or so based on my measurements).  But in hindsight, going through labour knowing you have a massive baby to push out would totally have defeated me mentally and there's a good chance I would have given up and needed a C-section to get her out.  So we agreed that as long as they think I can do it this time around, I'd rather not know :)

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend

My GD results came back negative, so relieved. Not stressing over "size" of baby, talked with my ob and she reassured me that the u/s measurements can be off 2-3 weeks and it becomes not as accurate for determining size in the later stages. My DH is tall and I have long limbs, so baby could just be a long babe. A gf was told she was gonna have a large baby ~9-10 lbs and her baby girl ended up coming out at 6lb 14oz, 21 inches (39wks). I guess in the end, can't control the size of baby, just want it to be healthy.. however the birth process needs to be to have both healthy mom and baby in the end is what matters.

A co-worker who has been off sick just came in for a visit and gave me an easter chocolate.  After I ate it he told me he had shingles.  Eep!  Shingles is really catching, isn't it?  I sanitized everything after he left, but I'm irritated that he came into the office with shingles.  He knows I'm pregnant!!

Everhopefull - That sucks x2!!  Was that the 1 hour, non-fasting screening test or the fasting, 3 hour one?  If it was the shorter one, I think typically you start by doing the longer one to get a more accurate result.  That's the one I'll be doing as well.  If it does turn out to be GD, I think most people manage it with dietary changes... I hope??  As for the anemia, I guess it depends on how bad it is.  Are you on iron supplements already?

ps - About the dude with shingles, I'm pretty certain that you can only contract it if you have not have chicken pox in your life... Have you?

Me: 36, DH: 66 (failed vasectomy reversal in 2013)

IVF cycle #1 - August 2013
- retrieved 11 eggs, 2 made it to blastocyst stage, transferred two embryos
- 8dp5dt hpt BFP!!!!! th_abfp.gif 9dp5dt beta test --> hCG = 35, 11dp5dt beta test --> hCG = 96
- early ultrasound (7w1d) --> one baby with a heartbeat of 125! yahoo.gif
- miscarriage at 7w4d, discovered at 9w1d ultrasound. Devastated sad.png Doctor suspects miscarriage was due to poor egg quality on a chromosomal level due to low estrogen during stimulation phase.

IVF cycle #2 - January 2014
- retrieved 29 eggs, 5 made it to blastocyst stage, transferred two embryos, froze three more
- 9dp5dt hpt BFP!!! th_abfp.gif beta test --> hCG = 12, 11dp5dt hCG = 22, 15dp5dt hCG = 22 --> looks like another early miscarriage or possibly vanishing twin?
- 24dp5dt hCG = 83 --> WTF?
- 26dp5dt hCG = 36 --> this cycle is over (6w5d).  Recurring Pregnancy Loss bloodwork panel done.

IVF cycle #3 (medicated FET) - June 2014
- June 27/14 transferred two embryos (still one frozen)
- 9dp5dt beta test #1 --> BFP!  hCG = 60 th_abfp.gif  So happy!!!! yahoo.gif11dp5dt beta test #2 hCG = 79, 13dp5dt beta test #3 (4w4d) hCG = 200 !!!!  Yay!!!  So relieved!
- viability ultrasound (6w2d) --> saw one little baby, HR 100 bpm! banana.gifbanana.gifbanana.gif
- second ultrasound (8w4d) --> baby measuring right on track, HR 170 bpm!  preggo.gif
Sept. 4/14 - First Trimester Screening ultrasound (NT scan) --> healthy baby passed with flying colours!
Oct. 27/14 - 20 week ultrasound --> baby looks perfect, but diagnosed with "Velamentous Cord Insertion"
Dec. 5/14 - 26 week ultrasound --> unable to confirm VCI
Dec. 16/14 - High risk OB appointment - interpretation of previous ultrasound is that we have marginal insertion, not VCI.
Jan. 19/15 - 32 week ultrasound --> baby is measuring at 90th percentile!
Mar. 15/15 - due date!
Mar. 25/15 - after a difficult 34 hours of labour, our beautiful little miracle, Kira Rosalie, was born at 2:05pm, weighing a very healthy 10lb 9oz!  We are so in love with everything about her and are so thankful to finally have her in our arms! (surprised that when we saw the placenta, it WAS Velamentous Insertion after all!)

IVF cycle #4 (medicated FET) - fall 2016 - time to try to make a sibling for Kira!

May 12/16 - found out I have gallstones (caused by pregnancy) and need to have my gallbladder removed!  Grrrr!  3-4 month wait for surgery.   th_aggahhh.gif Decided to do a fresh IVF, freeze-all cycle while we wait.

July/16 - my screwed up cycle never showed up, so now we have run out of time to do a freeze-all cycle before my surgery.  Now we have no choice but to wait until October to do our FET.  It's always something. eusa_wall.gif

Sept. 1/16 - gallbladder removal surgery

Sept. 15/16 - started BCP to induce long-overdue cycle (three months and counting...)

Oct. 8/16 - CD#1

Nov. 3/16 - transferred one day 6, 4BB embryo

Nov. 10/16 - HPT BFP!!!  (8dp5dt) th_abfp.gif

Nov. 12/16 - beta #1 = 74! yahoo.gif Nov. 14/16 - beta #2 = 113.  Only a 53% increase, 79 hour doubling time.  Nov. 16/16 - beta #3 = 267!  WHEW!!

Dec. 6/16 - viability ultrasound - saw a happy baby measuring on track at 11mm, HR 145bpm!  Yay!!

Jan. 9/17 - First Trimester Screening is all clear and baby is perfect!  HR 170 bpm smile.png

Feb. 21/17 - anatomy ultrasound --> all clear!  Baby is happy and super active!

Everhopeful - auburnista is right, if that was only the one hour test then the next step is to go in for the three hour test. I was diagnosed with GD at 18 weeks and mine has been completely managed by diet so far, so try not to stress!

It was the one hour test.  I guess I'll get the req for the longer test tomorrow.  And yes, I've had chicken pox.  He should know better than to visit a pregnant woman though!

Hi guys been busy for awhile. Im going to have my GD screening on wednesday i hope its not positive im kinda scared when i was like 22 weeks i ate rice so much like 2 cups. I noticed that for 2 weeks so i decided to control it on my 24 weeks even its so hard esp if you like the food. Now 26 weeks, doctor told me to do the GD screening.

I also asked about the result of my anatomy ultrasound which we did last feb 2017, he told me everything is good. But they saw something a soft white spot in the heart. My husband and i thought its like heart problem with the baby but doctor told us its related with down syndrome. But he told us its normal in pregnancy to find some soft white spot it will desolve by it self. So need to have another ultrasound in my 32 weeks. I told my ob too that we did the PGD before embryo transfer to make sure the baby will be normal and healthy...

But in my NT scan and blood works last jan 2016 for Down syndrome all normal.

I dont know why there is a soft white spot in babys heart.

Every month im always going to private ultrasound for the babys measurement and hearbeat just for monitoring if he is doing fine in my tummy. Measurement and heartbeat are all normal.

Im-anne its a common variant on scans. But did you do PGS or PGD? PGS checks the chromosomes & PGD just tests for single Gene disorders.

Dawnkey- I'm so sorry, my condolences 😔

Everhopefull- I would be so pissed! Shingles is highly contagious regardless of history w chicken pox. Just don't touch him, don't let him touch you, disinfect anything he touched. And curse him out! Ugh I'm so pissed right for you right now!

Breezy- that sounds like a great idea, as far as cleaning your diet up and monitoring your own sugars.

I go for my GD test next week. I'm a little concerned because I've been ravenously eating, really taking advantage of the human being I'm growing in my belly 😊
I'm feeling pretty good, a lil tired here and there. I'm sleeping a bit better and well my appetite lol. So I too am planning on fixing my diet regardless of the results. I'm already up 20lbs!! I'm so embarrassed.

Don't be embarrassed momagain, pregnancy and weight gain go together like pb and jam so no one is judging you.  People do a lot of complaining about not losing baby weight, but it does come off again.  And you'll need some energy stores for when you've got a new baby, so it's not all bad!  Don't beat yourself up over it.

I got to talk to my GP about my GD test results and it turns out I was barely over the max number, only by 0.6.  So I'll do the 2 hour test next week and hopefully that's the end of it!
