Shannon, glad work is a good distraction for you and you're okay for now. Its true if the bleeding happens when youre doing nothing then bedrest won't help. Keep us posted and trust that even with another bleed baby will be fine. Just a few short weeks to 28 weeks which is a huge health milestone for baby! We had a little celebration at 24 weeks and cant wait to have a big one at 28! Im a week ahead of you. June 18.

Binks, glad i xhecked in.

Binks, I'm so sorry to hear your bad news and tough state of mind. Hang in there!!! GD sucks but all you can do is what Dr says and take care of yourself.

As for baby weight 660g sounds bang on to me! Smaller babies generally do fine and catch up. My OB said they don't usually do biophysical profile USs before 28 or 29 weeks because they arent as accurate.

Big hugs and keep in touch. Vent away and dont be shy to ask for support. We are all rooting for you and baby!!! 💕💕💕

Love- thanks, one day at a time and just hoping for that 28 week mark.

Binks- sorry to hear about your gd, that's why we are all here to vent and support each other.

Has anyone had any vagina pain? It's kinda dull and comes and goes? I think I am just paranoid and read into every little symptom now..

Hello Ladies,

How is everyone feeling?

My second GD results are in online and I have GD. Was so hoping to clear the test, but I didn't

Also, growth u/s shows baby's percentile dropped from 31% to 22%. The doctor is just not able to explain to us that if the baby's weight is increasing, but how is the percentile dropping. On researching online its shows average fetal weight for 25 weeks gestation is 660 gms and our baby is 659 gms, so really not sure how important is the percentile.

What makes me feel really bad/sad is that the doc says I cannot do anything to improve this, really sucks. I feel so helpness and I feel what I have done or am doing incorrect/wrong for all this to happen. The 2 week wait until every u/s is like nerve wrecking now, get to see the little bean, but also nervous everytime to know the growth and percentile. Sorry for the rant, have been feeling really low today.

SO sorry that you have GD :(  I am sure there is nothing you could have done.  I forget exactly what happens but my midwife had explained to me but something about the baby and placenta and whatever happens that our bodies tend to not process glucose well during pregnancy.

As for percentile, I am not sure about it dropping but I do l know that the ultrasounds are not that accurate.  I was never told the percentile of our son until the very end (99th lol) but the midwife was very clear that the results are very inaccurate and more inaccurate the further you are in pregnancy.  She also said that there is nothing wrong with being at 1% or 99% because the percentiles, on their own, mean nothing.  One baby always has to be the smallest and one always the biggest.

I hope that all goes well from here on!

I had vagina pain last pregnancy.  Sometimes I would get a sudden sharp pain that would almost make me scream and for sure make me stop in my tracks lol.  It is very normal because things are being pushed and stretched and nerves being aggravated and the extra relaxin really messes with all the joints and things.

Love, Shannon and Amp all you ladies are simply amazing. Thank you so much for the kind words and makes me feel so much better and positive now.Big hugs to you all!!!

Shannon- I do have vaginal pain on and off and my ob said it is completely normal as the uterus is growing with the baby.

Love- So cute to have a celebration at 24 weeks and next at 28 weeks, which is  good milestone.

Love & Amp-gives me some peace of mind to know what your doc/midwife thinks about percentile. Thanks for sharing their opinion on this.

Have a great weekend ladies!!!

Sorry ladies I'm kind of thread crashing, I've been following a bit since I will probably be delivering in June but I am in the July group.

Shannon - I'm glad you asked this question, I've also experienced some random and odd vagina pain.

Binks - I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 18 weeks, so if you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to message me.
As far as, percentile, I've never been told the percentile or weight or anything just that babies are growing on track. One of my last ultrasounds the tech was teaching a student and he explained that depending on where you take the measurements even a couple of millimetres can throw the results out by a full week or even two. I don't think you have anything to worry about :)

IVF November 2015 - transferred 1 blast - resulted in bfn (8 frozen - 5d embryos)
FET March 2016 - first BFP but ended at 11weeks (ultrasound showed embryo stopped at 8w4d)
FET Oct 2016 - transferred 2 and BFP

Shannon, how scary to have those bleeding events even while resting.

I like the milestones idea of 24, 28 weeks etc. Day by day

amp - i was experiencing leg pain. It started in my back and would radiate down through one side of my leg. I did prenatal massage, acupuncture and chiro. I kept following up with chiro once a week for about a month as my alignment was really off and was contributing to the pain. Now it is much improved and I'm going to chiro once every two weeks.

Binks - sorry to hear about GD. Pregnancy certainly puts our body through so much

C-ross- welcome

Here's another example of those percentiles being weird.  At one of my u/s's babyEver had an overall length in the 90th percentile but legs in the 25th percentile.  If his legs are so short, how could his overall height be in the 90th percentile?  I panicked until the next u/s which showed that everything was at about the 80th percentile; overall length and legs.  And the second u/s was only 2 weeks later.  So clearly there can be some 'off' measurements!

Thanks Everhopeful. I am not going to get worried anymore about percentiles, as most of you ladies said that it can be off and is not always accurate.

Hello Ladies!!!

Any recommendations on good parenting/new born baby books to read? Since it is our first, getting a little nervous and thought maybe a good book to read on what to expect after the baby arrives would be nice.Thanks.

Hoping all you ladies are doing well :)

Hey ladies, was just getting caught up; I'm so sorry to hear about all this!! I hope for a better next three months for us all!! My third trimester hasn't started great either. Last night my husband and I went out for a birthday dinner and on the way home we hit a deer 😢 poor deer, poor wrecked SUV. We called health link and we told we had to go to labour and delivery triage at the hospital. So nearly midnight we got to the hospital and I had to be hooked up to the fetal monitor for a few hours. Thankfully baby seems to be in good shape. He had a good heart beat and was kicking up a storm through the whole monitoring. Very thankful that everyone (except the deer) was ok, but it was a stressful night 🙁

Binks - I haven't purchased any "First years" books yet. We did receive two books from my OB office, one was "pregnancy and birth" and the 2nd was "first years".

Has anyone heard of hypnobirthing? Any comments

ML888 - OMG how scary :(  I am glad that everything is ok.

AFM - Nothing new.  The sciatic pain or whatever is mostly gone.  I seem to be able to keep it under control if I don't do too much.  Difficult with a toddler but we spend a lot of time just cuddling on the weekends.  I am glad he has daycare during the week so he gets to go to playgroups and run around and use up his energy. I feel badly that we aren't very active on weekends.  Looking forward to nicer weather so we can go outside and he can run around while I watch :)

We have not started preparing the bedrooms for the arrival of baby yet... the house is not even close to being ready.  I started doing some organizing and purging on the weekend but it is going to be a long and slow process!
