Hi ladies. May I join you? My summarized history is in my signature. I've recently changed clinics from Aurora to a local doctor here in Regina. I only have 1 tube and low AMH but no plans for IVF so hoping for the best with IUI and O on my left side. DH's recent SA low morphology at 3%. Currently CD 11. I had an US on CD 9 and am having a repeat US on CD 14 (Wednesday). FX we get the go ahead for IUI end of this week!

I had my baseline ultrasound today. They found two cysts. Thus, I'm not supposed to take Clomid this month. No IUI for me this month. Hopefully I can do in October.

New World, that's crappy . I've heard clomid has a higher chance of causing cysts. Interesting that your clinic does a baseline each cycle. The clinics I've been with never do. Hopefully they clear up this cycle

That sucks:( But better they caught it early. I had the same thing happened on Clomid and had my following letrazole IUI cancelled but they never discovered it until CD 12 when I went for a follicle check. I believe that cyst is what ended up causing my ectopic pregnancy. Here's hoping it clears up quickly!

NewWorld that sucks even if it's just delayed by a month, time goes much slower when we long for a child. Feels like forever. Just keep busy and keep positive.

I'm sometimes wondering if IUI is even something that would work for us.
My husband was taking the nutra ception vitamins for the last 3 months in preparation for the IUI.
It's sold at the clinic's pharmacy.
It's 12 tablets per day. And last week he went for another SA to see if there was any improvement. Unfortunately there was no improvement at all.
I'm not sure why they didn't refer us to a urologist to find the actual root cause. I asked about it on the phone. They said it's our family doctor who has to make the referral. But it was the clinic who found out about the low morphology. They even never mentioned about going to the urologist. It's through our forum I found out about all of this.

Hey ladies...Im in this one with you all this month. This will be my 5th IUI..or 6th..no idea. But im excited to try again. I took august off. I had a laproscopy done to check scarring to see if thats a reason i didnt get pregnant but apparently I'm as healthy as a horse lol. So we will see. Good luck to us all.

Well I'm out before I begin...CD 14 ultrasound shows mature follicles on right side where I have no tube... so no IUI for me either.
Super bummed out:(

CharityG, I think I am joining you in sitting out this month.

 

My HCG came back today 1.2 IU/L which means... negative.  But the first time I have ever seen it above a trace!  I'm hoping at least that means some things are working.  Anyways I'll meet with the doctor on Sept 9 and talk about a new strategy.  The nurse suggested that I sit out this month because it's probably a waste of money.  I am starting to agree....  However I'm nervous about sitting out a month because this is all I have thought about for a long time.  It's a bit of an addiction.

New World - I question that too. With hubby's morph at 1%, the stats on iui working per cycle are under 5%. I need to dig up that article. It's why we switched to ivf in the first place. Of course, then you hear about BFPS with just iui and morph being the only issue and think 'why not try as ivf is so costly and so invasive'. I hate not having a crystal ball.

Charity - sorry to hear that. .

Assylum - sorry about the bfn. There is no question that TTC does become an obsession or addiction. It's hard to think about sitting out a month, feels like wasted time.

Charity and Alyssum, keep yourselves busy by treating yourself to lots of stuff that will relax you! For me...it's white wine

 

My AMH results are not good. I'm 31 years of age and my ovarian reserve is very low. Honestly, I don't understand why me. This means i'm going to hit menopause much sooner then a typical woman does? I think i'm drinking an entire bottle of wine tonight.

 

6dpo today. I hope i'm pregnant so I can put this low ovarian reserve behind me. I wish I hadn't done the test now.

Jocelyne, I hope you are pregnant too! Is your AFC/FSH good? That's an important part of the picture too. You are still on the younger side so even if you have fewer eggs left, they should still be good quality!

I was going to retest my AMH too, but decided against it as it won't change anything for me. We will head to ivf in January regardless and I don't want to feel anxious if it's dropped a bunch..and I am a major worrier . I'm not sure if it influences any decisions for you in terms of iui/ivf. Sometimes infertility is just one big blow after another . Enjoy that wine girl!

That's just it Watermelon, infertility is one big blow after another. I feel like we are walking the same path; my RE suggested we try 2 to 4 more IUIs and then consider IVF in January. She did say my egg quality should still be pretty good.

Does anyone ever watch Counting On on TLC and wonder how it's possible that these girls can get pregnant at the snap of a finger?

Hi ladies,

I'm late to joining the group but after numerous failed iui's and a big fat fail on Ivf, we decided to keep tracking my eggs every month until there is a "miracle" month where I have more than 10 eggs, at which time we will try another Ivf cycle. And iui in the meantime

I also have DOR and am 34 turning 35. But I think my eggs are scrambled.

I'm on femera and then in 2 days start 150 units of Purgeon. However, a friend at work told me her daughter had the same thing as me and went to see a naturopath who tested all of her thyroids and in the end was able to conclude through blood work (that the fertility clinics don't test) that her thyroid counts were completely off. The naturopath gave her a spray and you guys will never guess... The following month she got pregnant, naturally.

She is due to give birth any day.

So I think there is still hope for all of us.
Since hearing this I have also taken an appointment to see this same naturopath and will keep u guys posted .

Welcome Sophie Marie! The clinic I go to in Ontario does test my thyroid levels (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) on day 3 of my cycle. I have hypothyroidism and my RE did say it has no effect on my cycles if I continue to take my synthroid medications. You should check with your family doctor if he/she can check your TSH and T4 levels!

Sorry to see you here Jocelyne ...but yes a new cycle is a new hope. No matter how many times I go through this, I still keep the hope!

Cd13 here. No surge yet, but lots of egg white mucous so should be soon! Going to sit out iui this month though and just go the old fashioned route.

Can I trouble you for an opinion?  I'm obviously too emotionally involved but really need to make a decision now.

I'm a transfer to IUI after a failed IVF cycle last month (all embryos arrested at day 5).

I decided to keep the momentum going by going straight into an iui cycle and am now on day 16 with the iui scheduled for day 18.

My question is this, I took Femara on days 3-7 and then waited, and waited and as of this morning I have only on follicle.  I'm 40 yrs old and realize that the odds are already stacked against this working but i'm having trouble justifying going through all this with only one follicle.  I can make one follicle every month without medical assistance so what was the point?  My issues are immunological in nature but because of my age, I thought the goal was to increase the odds via more follicles.  I'm super disappointed in the results and am not sure if I should go through with this or cancel and try again another time?  What would you do?

Hi JillyWilly, what was your dosage? I have to take the maximum dosage (5 pills a day) Day 3 to 7 to get at least 2 or if I'm lucky 3. I never do an iui cycle with just 1 follie because my husband has a very low count and bad motility. Do you use donor sperm? One follie is all it takes...

I have been quietly following the Aug & Sept IUI forum. I hope to see many many BFP this month! My beta test is this Friday. 

 

This is my 2nd IUI after 4 IVF cycles (2 of them were cancelled).

 

Jillywilly-I guess your IUI medication is different to your IVF? For me, they are the same as I am a poor responder so I don't produce that many eggs anyway. My best cycle was 5 eggs with one of my IVF cycle. Joycelyne is right, all you need is one GOOD egg! The medication and the monitoring give you a better chance to have a mature egg. But you should definitely discuss with your doctor if you have any concerns. Good luck!
