just wanted to say to all-- can't wait to hear if the newest transfers took-- wishing you all stickiness

i commiserate with anyone who is as nauseated as I am!

twins are incredible-

and to the two of you who are transfering donor embryos-- my friend just did that a couple days ago and she is so so happy. I'm sure you know all about how your DNA does in fact mingle with that of your baby, and you are forever connected in this way-- you with your baby's genes flowing through your blood the rest of your life and vice versa. your uterine environment is unique and that fetus will be affected by your estrogen, testosterone, androgens, diet, metabolism etc etc-- btw my friend meant to transfer only one, but they didn't wnat to refreeze another one and they transfered two. so she might have twins, as a surprise to her! she made the decision in the transfer room (she had bought eggs, unfroze them, fertilized them, and 13 eggs ended up being one high quality embryo and one lower quality one. it seems like frozen embryos are the way to go, not eggs. Is that what you guys did? She's too neurotic to go on forums in her two week wait, but wanted me to ask!

good luck to all!

ps my little one is the size of a RASPBERRY

Hi Sparklefish!! Your babe is growing! Such great news!

Thank you for posting about donor eggs truly being as much as a connection as using your own! I certainly feel that if I'm lucky enough to be successful, this baby will be a part of me! We used donor eggs from a fresh IVF cycle. The donor is a relative and so kindly offered to donate eggs. What a blessing . We also used a sperm donor (purchased frozen). In other words, our little one will be a bit of a mystery - which I find amazing!! Our first try 2 years ago with my donor's eggs resulted in a BFP, but unfortunately ending in miscarriage. We had 9 more frozen 5 day blasts, but unfortunately my last two FETs were unsuccessful. We are left with 5 now. Please wish your friend the best of luck in her journey! I love that there are all sorts of families in the world today - from donors to adoption, single moms and dads and same sex couples!

Thanks Sparklefish,

It is amazing how the donor can have a totally different blood type but the baby will take ours isn't it?!

I'm a bit different from Jane as I'm actually using frozen donor eggs from an anonymous donor with my DH sperm. So I am probably doing the same process as your friend except I only get 6 eggs in the batch. We will transfer 2 if there are 2 left this time. It's really exciting. We picked our donor from the Egg Bank and they have an extensive amount of information so we can make an informed choice. It's fascinating and awe inspiring how technology has made this possible for people in our situation and others.

I too wish your friend all the best.

Hi ladies! I transferred 2 embryos on September 8th and this morning I got a faint positive! Just wondering what the protocol is? Like when would I get an ultrasound to find out if one or two took? I have beta on the 19th and 21st.
Thanks in advance ladies

JenLows - Hope you got good news today!!?

AFM - I tested on Sunday (9dp5dt) and yesterday (10d5dt) which both resulted in only one line, so my beta just confirmed what we were expecting. sad.png We are obviously disappointed, but looking forward to what is next...we are back on the list for another round (which we won't do until 2017 - but will now have first choice as to when we want to cycle).

th_agl.gif  to everyone and thanks for the support!! :)

I hope your line gets stronger by the day sundawn.

J-Lee so sorry to hear and good luck for next time- onward and upward - what a great outlook you have.

Jane2017 thank you and all the best of luck to you too. I collect my meds in the morning all ready to go again!

JenLows - So sorry to hear...did you POAS ahead of time or was the phone call the bearer of bad news? I know it's hard, but you have a good attitude...and having two more frozen embryos is definitely a positive. I am not looking forward to having to do a complete cycle again so soon, but as Annabelle72 said "onward and upward". Take care :)

Oh J-Lee and JenLows I am so sorry that it wasn't your month. What great attitudes you have towards another try. Sending you big hugs! You girls will be in my prayers.

Sundawn & Momma2b- amazing news congrats!!

Sundawn- once you've at about 10dpt you will probably go in for a beta test, which will be repeated 48h later. If it's doubling nicely you will likely have an early ultrasound around 7 weeks into your pregnancy. They count the two weeks prior to embryo transfer in that number. So really you will only be 5 weeks actually pregnant. After that you will be released to a OBGYN. Oh and if your doing a medicated cycle you will take estrace and prometrium for the 1st trimester.
