Yes everything is going well!!

We should be going home today depending on her bili levels.

Breastfeeding is going pretty well. A little more difficulty with latch than my first but we are getting it!

Wow! That is crazy fast! What a story.

She's a little early, but good size. Feeding ok? Are you feeling ok?

Congrats!!

Ugh! I don't think there's much that actually works. The stimulant containing drugs can help with congestion but they can potentially vasoconstrict such that placental blood flow decreases. And they also decrease breastmilk production :-( let us know if your doctor does suggest something safe that helps! There's nothing mine has ever let me try.

I'd just stick with comfort food, honey lemon tea, bubble baths, and Netflix.

Hope it's a quick one and over before you deliver!!

I'm officially booked on the on-call induction list starting Monday the 6th (when I'll be 39+5w). Mostly because of my age. So that gives me a week.... gonna see my accupuncturist on Friday and spend lots of time on the yoga ball. My cervix is very high, closed, and thick.... bleh

Congrats eyedoc! Glad everything is going well. Love the name, it's very close to the one we picked.

Cait- I was able to take dayquil cough, not the regular dayquil though. But this was a few months ago, not quite as close to the end so no affect on breast milk. I also found that my humidifier helped a lot!

Hs - Good luck with your induction!!

Well I got a call today at 4pm saying that my csection has been rescheduled. It was supposed to be at 8am tomorrow and is now at 3pm on Friday. I'm pretty bummed that we don't get to meet our little girl tomorrow but I get the nature of hospitals. It's not the first time I've had a surgery bumped, just stings a bit more this time. It doesn't seem like this baby wants to go anywhere, she's pretty high up in my belly and only seems to be getting higher. Now I just have to keep myself occupied for 2 more days!

Well our darling little girl was born yesterday! The csection itself went really well, it was quicker than expected and Kinsley is doing fantastic. She weighed 7lbs 8oz and has a very healthy set of lungs.

After the csection has not gone quite as well for me. The doctors messed up my pain meds and it took far too long for someone to come see me. I couldn't even hold Kinsley I was in too much pain, let alone make any more attempts at breastfeeding. My pain is getting under control now and I'm able to get up (very slowly) on my own.

But our little one is doing really well, and that's the important part. Hopefully we will be able to go home tomorrow!

Congrats chantalword! Love the name. I'm sorry to hear about your after care but glad baby is doing well. Did you get to breast feed yet?

Hs when was your due date?

Mine is march 12 so I have a week to go - but wouldn't mind him coming earlier. I just started using the excercise ball to roll and bounce. It's so cold here to walk outside :/

hs - have you been induced? I guess your at the 40 week mark now...

Cait - I haven't breastfed yet because I'm still on narcotics. But I'm pumping and I think my milk is coming in. Your due date is fast approaching, any signs of labour yet?

I got my staples today and I'm hoping to get myself down to just Tylenol really soon. The worst part is getting out of bed which happens a few times in the night. My husband has been great with picking up all the slack. I think I even got 4 hours straight last night. And Kinsley is still doing great, she's eating well and even sleeping well sometimes.

Quick update:

We are well. Baby Weston was born March 9. 8 lbs 4 oz. Still in hospital for jaundice, but improving and home in 1-2d.

Breastfeeding going well for the most part, no real milk yet though.

I have a long (somewhat traumatic) birth story to share, but also need a nap. So at some point I'll maybe write something longer.

Looking forward to hearing from you all

Sorry it took so long for an update. We are trying to get used to this little guy!
Chase was born on March 10 at 2:05am. He was 7pounds, 15 ounces, 21 inches long.
My water brokenat 430am on the 9th. We went in to get accessed but contractions were so irregular so we were sent home. We went back to the hospital at 4. We had made progress from 3cm to 5cm. I decided to get the epidural shortly after that. Next time I was checked I was 9.5 dilated at 930pm. We began pushing at 1am but since my contractions were still far apart 4-6 minutes it made it hard to push so he got a little stuck. He had a bruise on his head but everything else was perfect!!!
We know are breastfeeding and he is 7 and a half pounds so we are working our way back to his original birth weight.
At home he has his days and nights confused and we are trying to get him to sleep or in someone's arms. He doesn't like the bassinet or the crib :/ but hopefully we will get there

Good luck to all the mamas!

Cait - Congrats!!! So glad everything went well and you are home. Kinsley also has her days and nights confused, she sleeps much more peacefully during the day. I hope Chase changes his mind about the bassinet and crib so you can put him down.

So we are on day 16 and things are good. I wouldn't say we have a routine yet because some days he cluster feeds and others I have to wake him every 3h to eat. But life is normalizing and im figuring out how to do things like shower and make meals with him. Lol. Alot of adjusting.

The birth story is a doozer... 7 days in hospital. First 48h I was admitted because my water broke (needed antibiotics for GBS) and was on induction meds that didn't work. The 3rd day we switched meds and that put me in to labour. So I was 72h with almost no sleep and only clear fluids (broth and jello). Dilated from 3cm to 9cm in 2 hours. Epidural was a godsend. After that he was sort of stuck with his head position. Ended up waiting about 18h for the final cm. Pushed for 3h without much progress (his head wasn't turning properly) and for to a point of starvation/exhaustion such that more pushing wasn't really an option anymore. Went to the OR where we tried forceps, but head still stuck. So emergency C-section. Weston was a bit stunned and needed a few minutes of breathing help, so he went to the icu for a couple hours. Did fine and was brought back to us and I finally got to meet him. The next 4 days we stayed because of jaundice and he got a bit dehydrated/lost too much weight. Needed formula top ups for about 48h. I had a lot of nipple trauma so I pumped and bottle fed for 3 days to allow them to heal.

Now we are at home. I've healed and don't seem to have PTSD. Breastfeeding is finally working. He's gained 2x the weight they wanted him to. And last night we got 3h of sleep twice! So things are normalizing.

And he's just so darn cute. 💙💙❤❤
