Yellowknife, I have not been sleeping through the night for several weeks now - actually I am lucky if I can sleep until 6 am for the last couple weeks - I have been blaming it on my bladder ;)

AFM, finally got an appointment to see my family dr....so that I can get a referral to an OB - hope I can see one in the next couple weeks.  It has been a crazy couple months - sold our house and we are moving back to my home town (in BC).  so I am staying with my brother and sister in law until I finish work here on June 17th.  Lots to do between now and then though dry.png

I just realized you;re in Grande Prairie, not too far from  me:)

Sounds like quite a few changes going on! I can't imagine trying to sell our place and move at this time! So insane :)

But change is always good (in my books) so i'm sure you'll do fine :)

Hi I'm new here!! DH and I have been trying for 7 years and can finally say WE ARE PREGNANT!! Only 5wks 1 day, we transferred one day 5 hatching blast and a day 5 "almost" blast. We are so excited and scared at the same time. My due date is Jan. 31st, 2017. Hoping all goes well but it's like I'm waiting for the ball to drop...so exhausting. I have no symptoms other than sore boobs but I'm not sure if that's from the pregnancy or the progesterone 😕. First beta on 13dp5dt was 1208. I think that's good? Anyone else have no symptoms?? Is 1208 good??

Welcome 7years!

We are pretty much on the same due date, you are one day after me! I did an IUI with sperm donor and finally got my BFP. My boobs (nipples) are starting to get pretty sensitive and im not on progesterone (yet) so sounds like a pretty good sign.

Your numbers definetly look high, but who am i to know:) apparently, whats important is that your BETAs are doubling every few days :)

Congrats!!!!!!

YAY THANK YOU!! And congrats to you as well. IUI didn't work for us. After 6 attempts we made the decision to do IVF. Apparently the clinic doesn't need me to do anymore blood work? I guess they think it's good to go. My first ultrasound is on June 23rd. I am going crazy wondering what's going on in there.

So I went to see my OB/GYN and told him about putting me on Prometrium. He told me that unless i did IVF (i did IUI), there aren't a lot of studies showing that it benefits the pregnancy. But he went ahead and put me on, as we both agreed i would have nothing to lose.
So as of now, and for the next 4 weeks (so until 9 weeks) i am on 200mg of prometrium once a day.

I feel better about it.

I'm not sleeping at all, and I dont know if its the anxiety and worry about being pregnant or what, but its horrible! I started taking Melatonin (last night) as it seems like the only sleep aid that is ok for me to use. I'm also getting these werd jolts in my left arm and leg, almost what i'd think restless leg/arm syndome would be.

Any of you guys having sleeping issues? and what are you doing about it?

Am I the only one worrying about this all the time?

Am I gonna be THAT mom???

I am waking up a few times since like 14 or 15 days after transfer. And i go to washroom a lot at night!

Exactly why I love having the support of a buddies group, because the nerves and worry doesnt stop. I think that infertility just sets us up to always be aware of the "what if's" so its nice to have a place to come where we dont all seem crazy 1087.gif

So true. U know whats funny: I just found out a girl i know is pregnant (naturally) and she's about 5 weeks or so (same as me) and she had no problem telling everyone that she's pregnant.

And here I am, so scared to miscarry, that I almost didnt even tell my family!

We are so "aware" of what is going on, and so cautious because of our journeys...

How amazing would it be to have no worries ....

But ya, im so glad that we have this place so we can share our stories with others who won't think we are crazy :)

We told everyone already but there are certain ways that I am kinds of sketchy.... my aunt asked me to check out "big ticket items" and let her know what I would like and I am TERRIFIED to look at anything. The progesterone bloating is pretty bad and my pants are now pretty tight but I refuse to buy anything new until I reach the 12 week mark

MCmiracle - thanks for confirming! I feel incredibly lucky that I met you here because we are going through exactly the same - same clinic, same program, same doctor who did the transfer and even the same age lol!

Angela and Yellowknife - I know right? I think the infertility thing completely changed my life. For 2 years everything I did, I couldn't stop but evaluated how that may impact my chance to get pregnant, especially when I started the treatment. Now I have to control my feelings really hard since at early stage we are not supposed to get too emotional or sad or worried, just calm, But with everything going on in life and at work, it is extremely hard. Maybe I am just not a happy/positive person in general.

Hello everyone- my Husband and I are in a unique position that I'm having a hard time finding anyone in our same situation. After 5 years of trying to have a child we decided to start IVF. In March 2015, we were successful at getting 4 eggs and after testing them only one was viable. It was a very high grade egg. For personal reasons we had also chosen to use a surrogate. In December we did the transfer that was unsuccessful and so after mourning that loss, we made the decision that with my age (42) and knowing the cost of another possibly unsuccessful round of IVF we would use and egg donor. On May 10th, we transferred again, using our surrogate from before and have now had two successful blood tests with the ultra sound coming up on the 8th. Fingers crossed we are looking at welcoming our little boy January 25th.

I don't have any particular questions, just wanted to be a part of the journey a bit more as, although our surrogate and I speak often and we love her to death, I guess there a feeling of being left out as the intended Mother, but not carring and or the genetic parent. (As I said unique situation)

Congrats to all of you embarking on this journey into parenthood, I look forward to seeing your stories and watching your families grow.

So, I just got back from a doctors appointment: a pre-pre natal appointment (i requested it). I asked for it cos basically, for us new moms, how are we supposed to know the do's and dont's? i mean, sure theres the internet but I dont know how much of that pertains to me. SO i requested the appointment so i can ask the doc questions about stuff i was concerned about. here's my list: hopefully it can help some of you (and some of you probably already know some of this too!)

1- excercise: do whatever you want, burpees, sit ups, push ups, running..everything and anything. Just watch your hear rate. Maybe some of you are experiencing a faster heartbeat (i am!) so when you feel tired, take a break

2- weight loss: im a bigger girl. so she said as long as you dont put on too much weight, you are fine. As if you do lose weight, as long as you are doing it in a healthy way, you are good to go

3- sex and orgams: HAVE FUN!

4- tea: i dont remember exactly what she said but she went on to say it was all good and even drinking coffee is fine. Know your body and if its acting weird, stop

5- melatonin and sleep aids : yes but no to gravol (some studies show increase in cleft pallet babies)

6- tums, rolaids: all good

7- laxatives: do it up

8- cigarettes: i talked about my situation (1-2 a day) and how im still craving 1-2 PUFFS a day. She said that won't do anything.

Basically, she said IF i were to miscarry it would be nothing i did. ALmost all miscarriages are due to chromosomal defects and have nothing to do with what the mother did/didnt do.

She made me feel so much better.

im sure i asked her more questions, but i cant remember right now.

Yellowknife- just going to jump in here no ab workout at any point in pregnancy. Ie floor ab workouts standing ab workouts are easier on self and growing baby. You can cut of blood supply to baby doing lay down. You also have to monitor your heart rate because too high of a heartrate will cut off blood supply to baby.
Coffee I believe they say no more that 2 cups of coffee. If you consume too much you start depleting essential minerals and nutrients from body to baby such as calcium. I barely finish 1 cup of Joe.
I am sorry but did your DR. advise you that smoking is ok??? Even a few puffs have enough poisons and carcinogens to effect a developing fetus. Sorry but I wouldn't trust that IMO.

Im not gonna lie, i was a little surprised at the information she gave me. And regardless of what she said, im still not drinking coffee or smoking.

Im paranoid about the ab workouts. so im stinking to stuff like planking (even tho they suck!).

I think she was trying to make me feel better about miscarrying (if it were to happen). but in reality, there's still no way i'd risk it. Its easier said than done ("there's nothing you can do to prevent it")

How is eveyrone feeling?! Im finally managing to sleep a little bit more. I have my ultrasound in a few hours, im nervous as hell! but what can you do?

TTC, how far along are you ? When is your ultrasound?

Hi ladies . I had my 3rd ultrasound this morning. Baby is measuring 8 weeks 0 day. Heartbeat was 174 bpm! 🙌😆So so relieved to see my lil bean doing so well in there. Due date is still January 13th.

I was a bit worried past few days since I have been feeling pretty good for the past week. No nausea, no headache just bloated and tired most of the time. Hey i am not going to complain just as long as i know baby is healthy 😊

I will have one last ultrasound on June 16th with my fertility clinic then off to OBGYN which I still have no lead on. Hopefully I will get a call soon.

Wish you all a great weekend and can't wait to see all your updates too

Hi everybody! Congrats to everyone and love reading all the updates!

AFM- Just had my first u/s today and heard the heartbeat! I'm 6.5 weeks along. We transferred one fresh embryo and got to see our baby today! It's so surreal and exciting! We will go in again in 2 weeks for one more u/s with our fertility clinic then 10 weeks to our OB. I am going back to my OB that did my ovarian cyst removal surgery a couple years ago. We also found out our due date is January 24th! Which is also my mother in laws Bday! Lol so exciting! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey everyone! I've been reading along on the posts but kept thinking it was too early/risky for me to join yet lol

Anyways, on April 21 we transferred two 5 day blasts with FET and got our BFP. I'm now going to be 9 weeks on Saturday. We've done three ultrasounds at the fertility clinic and are officially discharged! It was so cool to see the progression each week even though you couldn't see very much! The last ultrasound baby was measuring right on schedule and had a heart rate of 166bpm. As for symptoms, I'm nauseous and not really enjoying much food most days, peeing all the time, tossing and turning at night but can sleep for hours during the day on the couch!! I went to see my GP who isn't technically an OB but is one of the few doctors in the area that actually delivers babies as well so I'm going to stick with her. She had me go get a whole bunch of vitamins to take so I'm trying to keep all that straight. Thank goodness only one more week of progesterone suppositories! Hurray!! Lol

Our due date is January 7, 2017. Which is funny because when it's written out it'll be 1/7/17 and DH's bday is 7/2/72! Haha :)

Well I guess that's all for now! Looking forward to keeping updated with everyone!
