We did IVF and were successful after our 2nd try and we have a beautiful little girl.  During labour I was rushed in for an emergency c-section. Afterwards, I was in pain and had fever for 3 months. I  saw the doctor 5 different times over these 3 months and was given 5 rounds of antibiotics. After the 5th round of antibiotic was done, and I was still unwell, I went to another clinic. The doctor there immediately sent me to the hospital for a cat scan. The cat scan showed a giant abscess in my uterus that was full of pus. It was punctured and thick, yellowish, green pus drained vaginally FOR A MONTH. It was awful. The doctor said I could have died had it ruptured into my body cavity. I finally felt better and my pain was gone, but I didn't ever get a period. Not even after waiting a year and a half.

 

Anyways, my wonderful Dr's at the fertility clinic have performed 3 uterine scrapping surgeries and I finally got a very, very light period. so then we did a frozen embryo transfer but it was unsuccessful. My period has never fully recovered and is extremely light. I don't even need to use any sanitary products, it's just faint red marks on the toilet paper after I pee. My Doctor said I may have to consider a surrogate. Is acupuncture a waste of time and resources for uterine scarring?

 

We have 11 very good frozen embryo's left.

I am sorry to hear all that you have been through

 

My approach would involve acupuncture, herbs, laser therapy (to reduce inflammation and clear infections).  I would also want to work with your IVF doctor to determine if any adhesion as a result of the infection and scrapings.   Would look into your gut health from the antibiotic therapy (I can only assume you had to antibiotics).  Access through blood tests (for infection) Hysteroscopy (to check lining and quality) and monitor your cycle and the amount of bleed for progress before you do another transfer.

 

So yes acupuncture could help but I would be recommending a more a wholistic and integrative approach to give you a chance to carry.

Hi there - where are you located? I have a wonderful doctor in Ontario that fixed my scarring (1st surgery with a different doctor was not successful) pm me if you need more info
