Don't you think that would be worse to test too early and get false negatives? Testing before 8 or 9dp5dt is just too early in my opinion.

Nope, my way of thinking is that there is always a glimmer of hope until beta but it prepares you.....and if you think it's neg then turns out your pregnant it's a total bonus!!

When I test, I think about the embryo age and whether hcg production is possible and the probability/likelihood is of a true result. So when I was getting negatives on embryo day 9 I was much less sad than when it was still negative on embryo day 14. It doesn't ruin my day to see a negative early on. Similarly, if I had a positive early on I wouldn't feel pregnant... I'd want to see it stay that way for a couple days to increase confidence in the result meaning there's an embryo producing it.

Just the way my brain works. Statistics, probabilities, and likelihoods.

I had a positive test yesterday - embryo day 6. It's a "true" result (because the test appropriately detected hcg) but I know the source of the hcg is the trigger not an established pregnancy.

Ok I'm kind of weirded out this 2ww round. It's my fourth 2ww, 3/4 were chem pregnancies and I did everything by the book the whole cycle, no drinking, no working, no caffeine, no anything that I thought may effect my outcome. This time I feel nothing, I'm having a coffee a day, not really sticking to pregnancy diet (still healthy because I am, but I'm eating soy and raw fish lol) walking the dog, grocery shopping, but still trying not to lift anything heavy. I guess my concern is Im feeling closed off to this whole process. It's not like I don't care but I seemed to have adopted the attitude that it's out of my hands totally. But I'm not sad or nervous, or anything. So weird as I'm normally an emotional Rollercoaster. I'm blank. Protective mechanism??
Anyway just a little 2ww psych monologue smile.png

I hear ya. I actually think that's a great way to be. I have felt pretty much the same since I got over the initial disappointment this cycle. Even had a couple of (gasp!) half glasses of wine over the last few days. Defense mechanism, probably. But the truth is, it IS pretty much out of our hands. I hope at the end of your 2ww you get a nice little surprise!

hs - I had sort of a similar pain that has mostly gone now. It was in the same area as that pinching pain when you pee, on one side. It was worse when I was urinating, but in between times I would get a fairly sharp throbbing pain in the same spot. It settled down a couple days ago. Now I just feel it a bit when I'm going up stairs.

so, I tested this morning. I should have tested out the trigger but I didn't want to waste FRERs, and there would be no point in testing it out on a cheapie, as in my experience they are woefully insensitive compared to FRER. Anyway it was an incredibly faint line. Like the kind you only see at a certain angle and you go cross eyed looking at. And then you keep looking back at it to determine if it was really there, or if you were just hallucinating it like a sort of mirage in the desert when you're dying of thirst. I spent an embarrassingly long amount of time staring at the damn thing. I even looked at it under magnification (I'm such a nerd). Tested again this evening, 12 hours later, and I honestly can't tell if it's darker. I don't think it's lighter but they really look about the same. Level of urine dilution was fairly similar in the two samples. I am now 11 days post trigger, embryo day 9. I'm still wondering if it could be the trigger I'm picking up...I guess the only way to find out is test again and see if the line (can you even call it a line when it's that faint????) starts progressing.

I think it must have still been the trigger. I used one pen of ovidrel. Test this am was negative. My brain has started perceiving faint pink lines everywhere now, but I'm pretty sure it's actually negative. Might give it another go tomorrow. Good luck to anyone testing today!!

Mon, that's awesome! What day is it for you??

Nica, you've inspired me - sushi tonight!

I'm officially showing negative on FRER (10dp trigger)... so now I'm hoping to see a line! I might skip tomorrow because it's still so early and I could spend the $ on my sushi instead :-)

I will also have a blood test on Monday. Getting excited but I am definitely staying away to test. I am just curious now, I am using endometrin. So will it delay af or the bleeding should start if it is negative? do any of you ladies know anything about it?

11 day post 3 day transfer (so the embryo is 14 days) abbreviates to 11dp3dt. Is that your timing?
When is your blood work beta?

I don't think it's too soon. You never know for certain until the blood work, but a positive pee stick with 14 day old embryo sounds pretty exciting to me!

Did you have a 3 day transfer or 5 day transfer maybe it can be the difference.

2015, October 14 - Ultrasound showed a 1.8 follicile on my left ovary that might be a cyst. Also a 1.1 and on my right a 1.0. Added 250 IU Orgalutron to the medications, continuing with Repronex 75 IU and Puregon 300 IU.

2015, October 16 - Left ovary follicles 2.5 (ignoring this one), 1.0, 0.8*3. Right Ovary 0.8 and several smaller ones. Continuing same medications. Next appointment October 18 (Sunday). 2015, October 18 - Several follicles, at least 4 are in the 1.0-1.3 range on the left ovary, at least 3 on the right ovary the same. Confirmed that they are looking for them to grow to at least 1.7. Next appt Tuesday October 20.

2015, October 20 - I have 3 mature follicles on the left and 2 on the right. There are some smaller ones, but the doctor thought it was best to proceed with what I have rather than risk waiting on the slow growing ones and have them not produce.2015, October 21 - Took the ovidril (trigger) shot. Egg retrieval on October 22 at 8:00 am.

2015, October 22 - Egg retrieval. 4 eggs.

Hi everyone I'm new here but not new to infertility. I have been trying to conceive naturally for 9 years I am 34 and diagnosed with PCOS and had a uterine septum removal done in April, dr V wants me to go ahead with funded IVF, I have been on BCP since my surgery of the septum and now waiting for AF for my first cycle, I'm a little nervous about needles and im kind of in a limbo stage of excitement but yet don't want to set myself up with disappointment so I'm kinda meh,..so jus waiting for day 1, hope the best for everyone doing their cycles 💓

Well this morning I woke up do some light pink spotting (mixed with watery dc sorry TMI) I'm really hoping it's a sign of implantation. I'm sure it's to early for af and I still have no symptoms. I've had implantation spotting before with my chemical preg. I'm 5dp3dt so I guess the timing would be right. Dang it, now my hopes are up. I was doing well with having no emotion lol.

Nica - sounds like it could be a good sign!

Beagle - I totally understand, I find testing pretty comforting too, either way. Makes me feel like I have a tiny bit of control. Try again in a day or two! FX!

Mon - yay!!!!! So exciting!

AFM - very faint positive 6dp3dt turned out to be trigger as I had negative the next day. Then at 8dp3dt there is a faint but definite line. Very slow to appear. I'm allowing myself to be a little hopeful but telling myself there is a good chance of a chemical too. Infertility is so scarring...if we were doing this the usual way I would be doing a happy dance right now. But with IVF everything feels so fleeting and fragile. I'm going to try to continue to be as blasé about it as i can. The disappointments hurt a tiny bit less that way.
