How is everyone doing?

Brokenhearted, tomorrow is the big day! You are in our thoughts. I hope all goes well.

Delhibelly, how was your 38 week appointment?

Sunshine, are they still taking out the cerclage tomorrow?

Prairiechild, how are you? Have they discussed your induction date?

Absimmo, hope your pregnancy is still going smoothly and baby boy isn't making you too uncomfortable these days.

Readyandwaiting, hope your hanging in there as well.

It would be great to get updates from the other ladies.

Things for me haven't changed in regards to my pregnancy. My personal life has way to much going on right now, so much I wouldn't be able to explain it in a brief message. But when it rains it pours. 12 more days for me. I will keep you all updated.

Hi ladies!  Sorry I haven't been able to update until now.

After some signs of early labour Thursday night, I decided to head into maternity and have them check me out Friday morning.  My OB decided it wasn't necessary to wait until Monday and we welcomed our baby girl on the evening of Friday Dec 2nd (38w1d).  She was 8lbs10oz and 22" long.  She is absolutely perfect and is a spitting image of her older sister (as a newborn).  Things are going really well.  She is the sweetest thing I've ever laid my eyes on.  We came home yesterday and last night she cluster fed all night long, but back to 2-3 hours between feeds today.  I would love to tell you all her name, but we prefer to keep that information off of public forums.

I wish you all the same good luck and fortune, and bring home a healthy perfect baby.  I'll keep checking for updates from all of you!

Hi all,

Good to hear updates from everyone - you are all getting so close! Hang in there, can't wait to hear updates from you all!!

It's been a busy few days for us over here...we were induced on December 4, and waited around 21 hours at the hospital for labour to get going, but holy, once it did, we were off to the races. We were induced at noon on Sunday and around 6 am Monday they said I was still only 2 cm and having unproductive and inconsistent contractions.

Exhausted and frustrated, the high risk nurse at my bedside was able to get me to sleep on my side a little while later for an hour or two. I woke up to the most intense contraction ever, followed by my water breaking. They called in the anesthesiologist (we had asked for an epidural hours earlier on recommendation of my doctor with my preeclampsia but were not allowed as I was only 2 cm still). He tried to get the line in but just as he was putting it in, I had the most intense contraction and he stopped so they could check my dilation - 5 cm only, so lots of time. Meanwhile I was suffering fierce pains and felt I HAD to push. They brought him back in to get the epidural in, and the second it was in they checked me again as contractions got worse and worse as he was working. I was 10 cm - 15 MINUTES later! They were monitoring her heart rate and it was dropping with every contraction at this point so they rushed us off to the case room/OR where 15 minutes later, our little girl was born. No time for the epidural to actually be turned on, I think I pushed like 15 times total. WOW.

Scarlett Mara is absolutely perfect, 6 lbs 2 oz. born at 9:55 am on December 5, and we were finally allowed to come home yesterday afternoon. Feeling a lot better since I've been home but blood pressure continues to be touch and go - on the high side in hospital, but on the low side now that I'm back at home. Hoping it all works out very soon smile.png

Can't wait to hear from all of you - especially delhibelly who is probably cuddling her brand new baby right now! In the meantime, I will be enjoying this little miracle that it is still hard to believe exists here in my arms.

Congratulations Prairiechild!  Sounds like an intense labour - I've had one like that (uninduced/unmedicated) and it is not fun.

Waiting to hear on all the others!

Congratulations Brokenhearted! So happy that your little girl is safely in your arms! Nice size too!  Glad to hear feeding is going well. What does big sister think of her new little sister?

Prairiechild ~ Wow! Sounds like quite the experience, I'm so happy it's over and you have your little girl safely on the outside.  Love her name! I hope you can get your blood pressure under control and it doesn't turn into post eclampsia.

AFM ~ I had the cerclage taken out last Monday Dec 5th and have had two NST's since then (Wed and today) and baby is content to stay inside so far.  I thought my cervix was holding at 2cm's at last scan about 3-4 weeks ago but my OB told me Monday that it was actually at 1.2cm's then when he took the cerclage out I was half a cm dilated.  Not sure where we are at now but I'm anxious for baby to come now.

He talked about starting to induce this Wednesday with Cervadil but I'd rather it go as naturally as possible to avoid any further medical intervention if that doesn't do the trick so today I started with Clary Sage on my abdomen to see if that will bring on labor. So far I don't feel any different, my abdomen feels a little harder maybe or it might be the power of suggestion. I'm going to try some more tonight and see what happens.

Are any of you ladies interested in a private Facebook group?  We did this with the due date group for DS and we still have a group going (although we are all friends on FB now).  Nobody sees any of the posts or even that there is a group, it's completely private.  The only thing I would need is someone to accept a "friend request" to get the group going then the other members can be invited through their email addresses.  PM me if interested and we can go from there. :D

good luck to the rest of the ladies that have given birth or are about to give birth!  Many blessings for an easy delivery. <3

Hi everyone,
I wanted to pop in and report that our little guy arrived by c-section on November 23. My water broke on the 20th, contractions started about 30 hours later and went all night, then stalled out the afternoon of the 22nd. We went to the hospital to start the pitocin drop, which I was on for 20 hours. I stalled out at 8cm, and was stuck there for about 7 hours (which I had no concept of - time does funny things when you're in labour). My midwife brought the OB in to consult, as the opinion was that the fibroid was either making my uterus contract poorly, or that it was in the way of the baby being able to get his head in the right position to press on the cervix. So we tried an epidural to see if that would relax my uterus. The first one didn't take, so they did a second one - and by that point baby's heart wasn't recovering from the contractions very well. When my midwife said that looking at the monitor was making her feel not good inside, we made the call to do the section before it become an emergency. Plus by that point my amazing wife had been awake for two days and two nights straight, and we were both crying from exhaustion during the conversation with the OB. So Tucker was born at 2:44pm, 75 hours after my waters broke.Attached File  image.jpeg   110.92KB   3 downloads

The problem - two girls can't make a baby without some help

But also - Fibroids, "polycystic like" ovaries, unpredictable ovulation, and a possible uterine septum

11/14 - IUI #1 - BFN

12/14 - no cycle as clinic closed over holiday

1/15 - cancelled, no dominant follicles - looks like I have an ovulation problem

2/15 - IUI #2 - 50mg Clomid - BFN

3/15 - 100mg Clomid - cancelled, missed my ovulation

4/15 - IUI #3 - 100mg Clomid - BFN

5/15 - Will need to start injectables as not responding well to Clomid, decide to switch to IVF, last three vials of donor sperm shipped from Toronto

6/15 - Stimming for ER

7/15 - 20 eggs retrieved, 19 fertilized, 15 embryos at day 3, 8 frozen at day 5

8/15 - MRI scheduled - no septum! No surgery.  Just a whopper of a fibroid, 9.5cmx8.5cm

9/28/15 - Beta of 9 - chemical pregnancy

10/27/15 - FET #2 one day 5 hatching (maybe?) blast

Congrats Marby!! Tucker sounds like the PERFECT name for such a long labour :) He is so sweet. Glad to hear he arrived safe and sound!

Looking forward to hearing updates, Sunshine! Cervidil didn't do too much for me - just got me to 2 cm, where I stayed until everything went crazy. The nice thing is that they can remove it if things get too intense. I hope everything goes well for you. You are braver than I am, not wanting medical interventions. Ironically, my interventions came too little too late for the most part :)

I am potentially interested in a Facebook group if others are as well. Keep me posted if that happens! Sending good vibes to everyone still waiting for their little ones to make their appearance!

HEY!!!!!!!!!!

yes my little baby smurf is here!!
Noah Zen Alishah arrived dec 7, 844pm only 5lb 10oz and 19 1/2 inches!!!

I actually enjoyed my labour and delivery!
I was 2-3cms dilated when I was induced at 1240pm, I was at 6cms by 630pm and got the epidural then it all went into overdrive lol and I quickly reached 10cm. I literally pushed for 10 min! In my birth video you can hear me yelling for the dr to hurry and get his gloves on hahaha!!
I got to pull Noah out myself and haven't let go since!

So far BF has gone awesome, sleeping... well that's to be expected! I'm loving it all, still can't believe my baby is finally here!!

Girls, it's been one heck of a year for us!! I'd love to continue on fb and share stories and compare notes!!
Do I pm my name to someone or post here.?

Marby, congrats, your son is gorgeous!

Delhibelly, yay for an amazing delivery. Congratulations! Noah is such an awesome name.

Well I went through with my C-section yesterday (12/16/16) and was extremely surprised when they showed us baby and it's a girl!!! Oh my, I seriously thought I was having another boy which I would be happy either way but now I'm ecstatic to have a daughter. She was 7lbs12oz. I'm currently in the hospital until tomorrow. Baby is down to 7lbs4oz and I'm really hoping I don't have to supplement. They said it's normal to drop weight and plus she had a lot of fluid in her and pooped a bunch.

I would love to participate in the fb updates... Yay for all of us!

Marby! Congratulations! So glad to hear your update and that you and baby are doing well. He is so sweet!!  And did I read correctly? ( I creeped on some of your posts from another thread) ... your wife is pregnant or trying to get pregnant?  I love it!!  that's awesome!  Sending best wishes. biggrin.png

Delhibelly I'm so jealous of your delivery story.  congratulations!!  Noah sounds like a truly dreamy boy.

Lua yaayyy for a surprise girl!  We were very close to each other for weight and birthdate. biggrin.png

My little girl is here!  Tenley Marie was born Dec 15th at 9:21pm weighing 7lb 9oz and 20 inches long. Things did not go as planned and in hindsight, it's kinda my fault.  I put Clary Sage on my abdomen and feet and later that night around 3am started contracting.  I didn't feel them much but I knew it was happening however they stopped around 8 am the next morning. I got antsy about the Cervidil induction so asked my Dr for a Sweep which he did on Tues.  I did some Clary Sage and Castor Oil as well and started having contractions again which continued into Wednesday the 14th when I went in for the induction.  I arrived at the hospital at 8am but was told I'd have to wait a bit for induction because another lady was giving birth.  I later found out she had a 23+5 baby who had to be airlifted to Vancouver. Four more births came up throughout the day that took precedence over mine so I was put off until the next day.  In the meantime, my Dr did another sweep and kept me in the hospital because of the fear of prolapsed cord at home which is almost an hour away.  During this "free day" my contractions again stopped.

Because I was 3cm's dilated the next morning (the 15th) they skipped the Cervidil and went to oxytocin.  I started having contractions again a few hours later but wouldn't progress beyond 4cm's all day. They had broken my water hoping to speed things up but it didn't help. I was starting to get frustrated having all these contractions which were becoming painful but with no gain. The Dr basically said my contractions were only moderate and my uterus was tired, she didn't feel I would progress beyond 4cm's and I was at the end of the dose of meds they could give me to bring on contractions, there was nowhere to go but to have a section. So it was a non emergency c section and man alive I wish I had known that it would knock me on my ass as much as it has but I guess there's nothing I could have done anyway.  Finally starting to feel like I can move and not like they left something in my abdomen that shouldn't be there. I also have terrible edema so have to try to elevate my feet as much as I can which is hard to do when you have a toddler and a newborn to look after.  Thank goodness for daycare and for my Mom!!!

I'll save my breastfeeding odyssey for next post but thought I'd post a pic of my little dolly <3

Can't wait to hear more birth stories!  I'll message one of you to get the FB ball rolling :D

Congratulations ladies!  Your little ones are sooooo cute and I'm loving all the names, particularly Tenley, I desperately wanted to name my baby girl Tenley but my oldest girl has a name ridiculously similar so I thought it would be too weird.  Kind of like Ada and Ava, lol.

Sections are miserable beasts to recover from.  They are painful and exhausting.  I am 17 days out and am still taking Advil here and there for pain, but it was significantly better at 14 days.  The swelling took a number of days to improve, I still have a bit in my ankles and hands, and the gas!  Holy moly - the gas was so bad that I swear I still had a baby in there kicking around.  I wish you all the best in your recoveries ladies.

Who's left??!!

Love the pic Sunshine! Congrats! Up to the section, your birth story sounds quite similar to mine! If pushing hadn't gone as quickly as it did for me, I would've had an emergency section as her cord was wrapped around her neck and her heart rate was dropping. Your girl looks so sweet! I'll post a pic of my little one below as well!

Marby that's awesome news about your wife!

I'll message one of you to get the FB ball rolling biggrin.png

Congrats Congrats!!!  My little girl was born in November, and I had a similar birth experience that ended with a c-section.

The c-section also knocked me out.   The feet swelling was a surprise!  Almost couldn't get my shoes on at the hospital.  Started feeling SO MUCH better after about 2 weeks.

Hang in there and congrats on your little girl -- she's beautiful!!!

Sunshine I just can't get over how tiny your Tenley is. OH MY GOODNESS she literally looks like a doll! And yet she has a pound and a half on Scarlett - hard to believe!

Thank you so much Tess and I feel so much better already.  I may or may not have brought some of it on myself.  Urged the hospital to let me go home after 2 days, drove myself and baby Tenley home in a snowstorm, been tending to my 3 year old and baby since with the help of my Mom ... no time for slowing down lol  but glad to say I'm off all pain meds and don't feel sore anymore.

prairiechild ~ she IS so tiny despite her weight, she dropped some weight, as they do, and was 6lb 13oz when I took her home and remained at that when the nurse weighed her at 4 days old.  She doesn't have much baby fat and has skinny arms and legs which was a surprise because I was told she's measuring big all along.  My son, who was born weighing 1lb 14oz, went home at 6lbs 6oz and he had more fat than she does. I gained 30lbs with her but I had excess water and thankfully have lost most of it again. Anyway, she's my little dolly and I love her to pieces.

1 lb. 14 oz - that is wild! It's amazing he was able to gain so much! I definitely gained more weight than that - closer to 60 lbs, and 40+ of that is already gone. It's actually shocking to see pics of my last days of pregnancy vs what I look like now. I was soooo puffy from all the edema and my husband remarks daily on how good I'm looking (which, secretly, makes me wonder - just how awful was I looking before giving birth?! lol)

Hope everyone has a wonderful new year snuggled in with their little ones - we are having a couple friends over for our annual quiet New Years Eve of drinks, movies and video games. Probably fewer drinks for me this year though, unless I pump like crazy over the next 24 hours :)
