I thought that we could see what everyone did during 2WW and maybe find some correlation as to what seems to help BFP and cause BFN. Some questions may bother people, but I do believe every question is relevant. As well I am wondering how many HPT'd but I couldn't fit it in. I also couldn't fit in if you had a BFP or BFN so if you could put that in as a post I would appreciate it.

Please answer the questions as truthfully as possible (even if you don't want to) and we just might find something out!

I had 2 weeks off from my job but still did some work at home, watch tv, some cooking and a lot of internet...
and watch a whole season of 24 (which is kind of stress too)
Overall I think I was too stress and was not so hungry.
Did HPT from 9dp3dt and always had BFN...
I would highly recommend to do everything you can to not stress but it is so hard...
Watch some comedy, read easy positive book...

Sam,
I have a few questions.
How do you know your m/c's were due to chromosomal anomalies? I have no idea why I m/c. They just told me it happens...
Also, after seeing all of you mentioning the # of cells in your embryos, I wrote to my nurse, and she said all my blasts were 5 cells or more. Is this good or so-so?

I didn't do much at all. Just lay around as much as possible. No exercise, no housework, now cooking, I stayed home for 3 days, adn even then tried to work from home for rest of the week. Tried not to do think too much about anything. But it was a bfn.

The one time last year, I got a bfp, I was out of town for work, I didn't rest at all. But tried to take it easy abit at work. But I m/c due to the gestational sac not growing normally.

It would be nice if there was some straight forward rules or answers!

We were fortunate it was during school holidays, so I got to take it easy. Pretty much layed around for the first couple days...soreness from the week still. Then for the whole 2 weeks, pretty quiet.

Hubby did all the vaccumming, laundry, he was really great.

We had strict instructions on No sex, no activity (exercise), no swimming for 2 weeks, no lifting etc.

I took a test on cycle day 8 it showed neg, then cycle day 10 showed Bfp...day 13 we did the blood test.

bsl sorry to know about your m/c's ,its the hardest thing to go through and you never forget and cant let go
my all preg the fetus was slow to grow they were always 3days to 1 week behind depending on wheni went for u/s ,also the heart beat never went beyond 62 bpm
these 2 signs alone are predictors of trisomies
now this time we had chromosomal testing on the embryos before transfer and 2 out of 4 that were great had trisomies ,while all of them were growing great in lab
usually they say if it does not reach 6 cells on day 3 ore greater than 9 cells on day 3 its bad
good luck,hope that helps

Sam,
So if mine were all 5 day and they told me that they're 5 cells and more then I should ask for chromosomal testing before the FET?
You know what? I'm calling them, I need more information, don't you think?

i have seen all the MD's in my clinic [at one time or another], and was concerned that during the summer i took up jogging. all of the MD's said whatever you do, don't raise your heart rate over 120bmp. that is different for everyone. for some that is brisk walking, for others it will be more strenuous. so now i jog for 2 weeks [ds 1-14] and then just walk for the other 2 weeks [15-28].

I answered as best as I could. I did do some heavy lifting because I had 2 nursing shifts at the end of my 2ww so I was on my feet & lifting bending etc, I tried to be as careful as I could. Didn't smoke, drink or exercise. I stayed off my feet more than usual but I still went out etc. I remember going to the show & laughing so hard & then kept thinking what if I squeezed my uterus too tight  I had lot's of worries from day 1 until my twins were born. Great survey.

I answered from my first attempt. I pretty much did nothing, except I had this terrible cold with a real deep cough. Some walking, no working, little cooking. I ended up with a BFN that time. I had way too much time on my hands. This time round I have keepmore active, lots of walking, I have light duties at work, and this time feels way different. And I have less time to worry about everything. Tried to remain stress free. DH has also been a huge supporter. So my theory was that I was going to do everything different the second time around. Beta in two days, so I will let you know.

I was on bedrest for the 1st 3-4 days. I cut out any caffine.....no pop or coffee. My husband did all the cooking & cleaning for at least the 1st week. I was off work for 2 weeks...my clinic will put you off for up to 2 weeks & I always take advantage of this. My IVF ended up a BFN.
My FET, I tried things a little different. I only stayed in bed for 1 day, was only off work for a few days & didn't give up my morning coffee. I ended up with a BFN.

I did everything as per normal, for the first two cycles I got AF on day 9 and the third cycle I POAS day 10 -14 confirmed BFP day 16 M/C 9w fourth cycle I POAS day 14 (+) confirmed BFP and carried her to 39 weeks. I knew I was pregnant the last two times because I went off chocolate straight away and all I wanted to drink was water.

I found that carrying on as normal was the best thing for me and to take the day off work that I go to the clinic for my blood test..... I needed to grieve in private when I got the BFN as it is just devastating....

I am on maternity leave atm so I am going to be really bored, I'll just go to the gym and go for walks of an afternoon to pass the time :)

This time around I will say that I did absolutely nothing. I was on modified bed rest on day 2-4. Went back to work then on day 5. I gave up caffiene in Jan. don't eat alot of choc., I don't smoke, or drink, so that is another bonus. I told my DH that even tho it is ok for us to have sex, we are not having sex until after we find out. I have done more healthier foods--grapes, pinneapple core, no pop, LOTS of water. SO will see what happnes in a few days if we got our BFP or not.

I ended up working a lot! I was doing quite strenuous work for 12 - 14 hours per day for the 5 days after my ET, I even put in about 10 hours the day of! The joys of being self employed. I was quite stressed because of how busy we were and that I was working that much at this time. Barely time to eat most days. After that it has eased off, but still quite busy with a fairly active, physical job. And so far things seem to be fine - found out I was bfp on Good Friday. Don't feel out of the woods yet - looking forward to my u/s.

I cut my one cup of coffee per day down to half decaf, and no sex.

I just voted. Got positive.

View PostIVF Angel, on Oct 20 2007, 10:04 AM, said:

I thought that we could see what everyone did during 2WW and maybe find some correlation as to what seems to help BFP and cause BFN. Some questions may bother people, but I do believe every question is relevant. As well I am wondering how many HPT'd but I couldn't fit it in. I also couldn't fit in if you had a BFP or BFN so if you could put that in as a post I would appreciate it.

Please answer the questions as truthfully as possible (even if you don't want to) and we just might find something out!

With Love to All,
Alicia

I just voted. My pg test at the clinic is in about 9 days, (I might crack and do a HPT earlier) - I'll post the results in my signature. I've been taking it pretty easy the 1st week, but I am going back to work during the 2nd week. My job isn't too stressful, so I'm not worried about it. I've been listening to an IVF meditation CD every day, which I have found to be very helpful. I started feeling like AF was going to come since yesterday, so we'll see if she does!

Good Survey!!!

For my 3 IUI cycles, I have yet to see a positive result. As for HPT, I did one the first cycle and not since.
