Hi there!
My husband and I are both 34 years old, non-religious, and live in the suburbs of the Greater Toronto area of Ontario. We have been married almost 10.5 years, and love each other very much. We just really want to be parents, and have been trying in some fashion since June 2011.
We are waiting to adopt, but with adoption numbers are very low in Ontario we are not sure if it will ever happen. So in the meantime, we are hoping to connect with a family looking to donate their embryos.
We have been homestudy approved for adoption since October 2014. In Ontario this requires interviews with an adoption practitioner (we had 12+ hours of interviews), 27 hours of adoption training/education, police checks and RCMP fingerprinting, medical and financial assessments, references, and a home inspection. Our police record checks were updated in the summer. We would still love to adopt, but have learned that the number of children placed in Ontario is very low, this year so far less than 20.
I cannot carry a child, but a close relative of mine has so very generously offered to be our surrogate. I have already been in contact with a very well respected fertility lawyer in Toronto who is well versed in surrogacy and gamete donation, and will make sure everything is done according to the law.
There would be no cost to the donor family.
Given our knowledge of adoption and openness, we would love to receive embryos from a family that is interested in keeping some form of contact, however you would be comfortable. If you would like to learn more about us, please message me and I can share the link to our adoption profile and blog. I understand how your embryos are your biological children, and would be happy to answer any questions you have.
