Hi all,

I wanted to post this newspaper article about recent scientific research in Spain about how maternal genetics play a role in the developing embryo, even if the embryo is donor-conceived, via microRNA in the endometrium. Lots of interesting implications for donor conception.

I also hunted down the actual research article and you can download a pdf of the article here for free.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting! My aunt sent me the article a few days ago and I was so interested to read about the new finding! I knew there had to be some implication to carrying a DE baby.

You bet mountainchick. It's pretty cool eh?! And it sounds like this might open the door to further research.

I read that article. I have always found the topic of epigenetics to be fascinating. There was also an interesting thread a while ago that talked about epigenetics. https://ivf.ca/forums...?hl=epigenetics

I hear you westcoastmumma. I got choked up too. I can only imagine how much more we'll know another 20 years from now.
