Hello everyone,

I've opened this poll because I'm curious to see what comes out as I have read so many different opinions on the web regarding the best things to do during the 2ww. Maybe the results will have no significance at all but maybe they will and maybe they will help us...At least we'll know what many of us do...

I just wanted to clarify, I did stay home because I took time off work, but I still did stuff, I went to the show, out for dinner, visited with family friends etc, I did housework, I wasen't "super active" but I didn't lie on the couch all day with my feet up. A good way to think of your ET is imagine putting a pea into a jar of peanut butter it's not going anywhere! My RE said your embie won't "fall out" (I was nervous to go Pee after ET but my clinic you have to have full bladder for ET so that's the first thing they make you do after the ET)

Hello Not giving up!

Thanks for the message and best of luck for the 2ww. You must be very excited and I'm sure you can't wait for the 10th!
I'm taking my next icsi attempt as soon as AF arrives, can't wait either, but I'm starting to get really sad that we have all these great results and no BFPs...

Best of luck!!!

Hello yanie,

The purpose of the poll is to find out what women who go through these procedures do during the 2ww that may help in getting BFPs. So hopefully (I'm praying for you!) you'll be among the lucky ones who get a yes at the end of the period and then, obviously, you do get to vote in the poll! :D

All the best and keep hoping for the good news soon!

Hi Lisa, I didn't HPT on my first pregnancy because I was in bed with OHSS! My beta was 138 at 14 days post ER. This pregnancy my beta was 363 at 15 days post ER, and I got a positive on an early response HPT at 11 days post ER. Hope this helps. The very best of luck. Gillian.

Gillian thank you so much for the response.

I am on day 10 and hpt'ed today and got bfn.
I had cramping yesterday, could that mean the emby was implanting?(day 9)

Did you have any cramping or spotting?

Yes I did, in fact the cramping woke me up a couple days before I tested positive, and the odd time since then. I think it must be a great sign. Gillian.

I took it easy for the first day - just relaxed on the couch - but after that, went about my life again. I do usually exercise faithfully, but I had to stop because of OHSS. So I've been walking every day for an hour or so, do stretches, and I want to pick up light weightlifting again ASAP. Best wishes.

I was told by my doc to kick my feet up and not do anything for 3 days post transfer because that is the apparently the crucial time for implantation. After those 3 days, I have only been minimizing heavy lifting and not doing too much. Since my job involved alot of running and high stress, I took the two weeks off for the transfer to just take it easy and we go for our Beta on June 1st! Seems like forever!!!

Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to say that I don't know how much I believe in this relaxing after ET. The 1st IVF, I cam home and did NOTHING for 3 days and failed, 2nd was a FET and stayed home for 5 days and did NOTHING, this past time was an IVF, I did do nothing the first day, but then went back to work the second day, planned, organized, setup and threw my husbands 30th surprise party. Cleaned like a maniac and I am now pregnant with twins. Geez if I would have known this the first time, lol I would have thrown everyone a party. So I am up in the air on the whole bed rest thing, but everyone is different. Good luck everyone.

Hello,

I had my first FET on Wednesday (had 2 previously failed fresh cycles). They transferred 3 embryos (one was 12 cells, and the other 2 were already compacted.) Experience some cramping during the actual transfer. Then went home and relaxed. Continuing to take it easy (walking around the house a few times daily). And will stay at home until I have to go in for my pregnancy test (except for a blood test I need to do tomorrow to see how my estrogen and progesterone levels are).

My only concern is that the day after the transfer, I was cramping a little bit, and called the nurse at my clinic. She advised that I take 1 advil.....so I did. However, later on that day, I was reading online and read that you are not supposed to take advil if you are pregnant. So of course I'm paranoid, wondering if I may have affected the chances of implantation by taking the one advil. Am I overreacting? I'd like to think the nurse wouldn't tell me to take something if it was bad for me. I am also on a number of different other medications including prometrium, levothyroxine, estrace, fragmin, and baby aspirin. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!

The thing you shouldn't really take is Ibuprofen. Is that what Advil is?
Don't take any more. I expect one won't hurt. Sounds like she made a mistake. I'm sure the warning pertains to continued doses. I hope you don't worry yourself silly. Think of all the people that get pregnant naturally and don't realise and are indulging in "dangerous" behaviour.
5 bites at the IVF cherry, no 2 lines, no babies, despite some "good" cycles.

NK cells tested March17th 2010. HIGHLY ELEVATED - 24%

When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself.

I went to work a couple of days after and was pushing people in wheelchairs, lifting wheelchairs and walkers, even took one of my clients on vacation on a via train. I figured I would have to be doing these things while pregnant so if the baby was meant to be it would have to be "sticky" enough to make it through... and he was!!!! I was still a little worried but like I said my mindset was that I would be doing this while pregnant and I figured that there are millions of women who have no idea that there is an embryo in there who continue with their daily lives and are successful. I think people should do what they feel comfortable with.

I did alot of lying around, but I had mild OHHS and was real uncomfortable ( and paranoid LOL) in hindsight, I think I lied around too much! I think a safe bet is don't do anything you weren't already doing before, if you don't workout, don't start now. Don't strain yourself :-)

Hello, Yes I had a baby from IVF-ICI in 2007 and that time I stayed home a couple of days after and didn't do much until about the 3rd day when I went back to work from home; however I think I did clean and cooked the 3rd day too. Then went back to normal except for lifting too much. This time after my transfer I was able to rest only 8 hrs after and then with a toddler it was hard to do much more resting, I only avoid carrying her upstairs and doing to much at ones. I am a bit worried about the not taking lots of rest but glad to hear the stories about the people who didn't and got preg. anyways. Yes, may be the baby has to get used to right away to a busy time...
Thanks for sharing!!

When I did my first ivf I took it easy during the 2ww.....bfn:(

Then when I did my 2nd ivf with d/e, I stayed in bed for 5 days...... I didnt' even have a shower:) I also had an acupuncture session before and after transfer:) I also was on pio and estrodot ( estrogen patches) I got a bfp!!!! My dd is now 4mos old:) I had a friend who swore to bed rest for 5 day and so the 2nd time around I stuck to it. Oh and my cats stuck to me like glue when I was in the 2ww........they're not around so much now lol Good luck!!!
married since 1996. '98 went to first ob and given clomid and written off at the door. '99 went to second ob and he did a lap and said if we weren't pg in 6 months referral to RFP. '00 went to RFP and re said she couldn't explain why we couldn't get pg but didn't investigate ether. '03 natural bfp and had m/c at 12 weeks. '04 went to another ob who was an re. he did iui, testing. '05 iui with letrazole-bfn. '06 iui and clomid and cancelled cycle and went in for surgery. Lap and hysteroscopy. did iui and injections and bfn. Referred to RFP again because re got us as far as he could and re said I had high fsh, lh and pof and pcos and endo, also suggested egg donation. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have dd. went to RFP and were told ivf was not a good idea because I respond poorly to meds. ok, let's move onto d/e. Couldn't do d/e until we had a failed cycle under out belts with my eggs. '07 did ivf with my eggs, retrived 3 and 1 made it to transfer- chemical. So moved onto d/e. '09 went back to RFP again for the orientation and consult for d/e and cycled in April '09- 13 eggs retrieved and 4 made it to day 3. Two transferred and bgp with dd. Dd born on 01/01/10!!!! Were crown the New Years Baby!!!! '14 came back for consult and did fet in Nov which was a bfn sad.png we're out of embies and options. Meet re/ob in '15 to discuss options. Considering adoption.

Well, I worked with a surrogate, but we had success with the first transfer, she rested after the transfer for an hour, drived home, rested until her 4 kids got home, and then returned to normal life.

Diagnosed with endometrosis at age 19

5 pelvic surgeries

2 IVF, numerous FETs

2 different gestational carriers

Now mother of 2 year old twins.
