Hi ladies,

I am a new patient at McGill (not new to IUI/IVF) and was wondering if anyone could tell me how one proceeds to order donor sperm for IUI at McGill (at my previous clinic the order was placed for us, so we would just tell the donor number to the secretary and she'd place the order - I know that's not the case at McGill).

 

I had to make an appointment with Dr. Takefman for psychological assessment because of using donor sperm (even though I have been through this with my old clinic) and could only get an appointment for the 17th of July. She will be telling me how to order the sperm, but I would like to be prepared earlier than that, trying to speed things up somehow.......a bit upset about the delay with the appointment.

...in case anybody else needs to know this, I found the necessary information searching through the McGill reproductive centre webpage in the "treatment info sheets" section:

...now I have to find out if I could get the psychological assessment done privately somewhere else to update my file and not having to wait for my appointment with Dr. Takefman

Hi Pebbles, note that the "sperm banks" they list aren't actually sperm banks (other than Repromed which does have a very limited number of Cdn donors) they are distributors for the US sperm banks (Xytex, Fairfax, Seattle, etc). Good luck!
