Hello,
I am just in the process of switching clinics and the new clinic I am considering does an 'assigned day 3' on a Friday or Saturday. This is so confusing to me. My nurse says not to worry they do it all the time but I don't understand how this won't effect my cycle? What if my assigned day 3 ends up falling on my actual day 7, wouldn't I be too far along to start stims and grow lots of follicles? Any advice or explanation would be greatly appreciated! I just want to make sure I do what is best for me, not what is most convenient for the clinic. Thank you!

It's probably a fine if your body reacts well to suppression and stimulation, but I would avoid that if it isn't the case. For me, Estrace or BCP don't seem to do a good job at levelling follicule size prior to stimulation, then my ovaries resist stimulation. So postponing stims to day 6 made things much worse as I had one big fat follicule growing and sucking all the the hormone away from the small ones. Avoiding that in the next cycles made for better results. But I know a lot of good responders for whom postponing made no difference.

Me - 37 - Poor responder

Him - 39 - Low count and morphology

Thank you for the response.  I have no idea how I react to suppression, never had it before! I am a poor responder to stims so we are trying estrace priming protocol this time! FX :-)
