Is anyone taking the Kirkland brand prenatals from Costco? They are half the price of Centrum/Jamison for double the volume (I think I saw $9 for 200 capsules?!)

Are they just as good as the brand names?

I purchased them but they make me quite sick. They're just sitting on my counter now.

I bought the walmart brand... which is also more than half the price!  I have zero issues using no-name brands!

I am currently using the kirkland brand and also have zero issues, unfortunately with any brand name you  sometimes are paying for the brand name and the pretty pink coloring. My obygyn says prenatal vitamin and does not push any particular brand. However like anything in life if you have a particular doubt about something go with your instincts.

I use Kirkland brand too. I used it with my prev. Pregnancy as well and had no issues. I think most prenatals make you feel sick if taken first thing in the morning. I generally take mine with or after a meal and I am fine.

Same....there is no difference. I think they actually have higher doses of some of the ingredients than some of the other brands I looked at, and I got more sick from one of the brand prenatals.

Thanks!

For those who have the Kirkland bottle at home, does it look like they use alot of non-medical ingredients that generally wouldn't be found in brand names?

I think I might give them a try...I wonder if Costco's generous return policy would let me return them if I get sick from it? giggle.gif

I have never been denied a return, even when they sold mittens in the summer and I returned in the winter after I de tagged them and found out they did not fit!

You can pretty much return anything at Costco.

And yes, I've taken those Kirkland brand vitamins and had no issues as well. Except that the bottle is so big that mine might expire before I finish it off. :P

I use Equate and Kirkland. I hope I'm not incorrect in saying this, but I'm pretty sure that generic medications in Canada, by law, must contain the same ingredients as the brand name counterparts. That's why I always buy generic ibuprofen! Many Costco/Kirkland brands ARE actually the brand name products, but packaged under "Kirkland".
