Hi

I just received a shocking BFP, shocking because in the back of my mind I never expected to be so fortunate. I am currently still BFing my 20 month old, only at night, more bonding than any nutrition, my supply is so low.
So time to start weaning in prep for baby #4
Any advice, tips tricks to smooth the process along,
I can not imagine anyone is BFing 2 kids of different ages???

Thanks!

You may find your 20 month old loses interest in nursing when you hit 3-4 months pregnant. My now 2 year old was only ever breasted, never took a bottle or pacifier and breastfeeding was his only comfort. I dreaded weaning and had no real plans to wean him even after finding out I was pregnant when he was 13 months old. When he was around 15 months he just gradually stopped. It was very natural and no stress and I'm glad it ended the way it did. I got a 6 month break LOL!

Endometriosis - undiagnosed until laparoscopy in Jan 2012

No problems TTC #1, DS born in March 2008

TTC #2 since July 2009
Started seeing RE Sept 2010
Blood tests show I'm not ovulating, HSG shows right tube is blocked but hysteroscopy was all clear.

2010/2011
4 cycles clomid + TI = BFN
2 cycles clomid, repronex & progesterone + IUI = BFN

Diagnostic Laparoscopy tentatively scheduled for September 13th.

Lap cancelled 09/12/11 due to complete surprise natural BFP, Betas fluctuating, confirmed ectopic. Methotrexate on September 29th.

Diagnostic Laparoscopy rescheduled for January 10th, 2012. Right tube removed, too damaged from the ectopic to save. Lots of endometriosis found and cleaned up.

IUI#3 was a miserable failure. Did not respond at all to repronex. Taking a cycle off before trying Gonal-F

Another natural BFP on April 5th (SO's birthday)!!! EDD December 12th, Cole Marshall arrived December 8th, 7lbs 6oz!

Oops I meant to say at 3-4 months you will have a temporary decrease in milk supply which is why toddlers often self wean at that time.

Thanks Amanda, this is what I am hoping for, there have been nights where he is up once and other nights where it feels like he his endlessly wanting to nurse, never had a soother never had a bottle. Up until this recent BFP ( fingers crossed its viable) I was a little sad to end nursing, but now I am REALLY ready!

Congrats Jojo!!! Amazing news!!! I second Amanda...I wouldn't worry about it...I heard it from so many people that after they got pregnant the baby lost interest in bfeeding bc the taste of milk and coinages and apperatly you also smell different...I think nature has it's own ways...good good luck Mama!!! Another update, progress, we now only "nurse" use the term loosely as he latches on and wow it hurts, falls asleep in 5 minutes and does not wake up alllll nite long!!!!!! (If we do not go thru these motions I have full on screaming tantrum, bed time extended by 2 hours ( believe me I have tried)

So it feels weird having this wonderful 2 year old still want to latch each evening and look into my eyes and pat my cheek and go to sleep, I am ready when he is to stop though LOL.

As for my supply, it has evaporated officially, my boobs are getting bigger??? And I anticipate the colostrum cycle to begin hopefully after full weaning.

Now to get my little co sleeper out of my bed in preparation for baby #4. Wow, ME with 4 kids, so surreal!
