hi every one
i am new to this thread but not new to ivf.ca
just warming up to start the process ,
after one year of bouncing around and being told that we cant do it ,i found out that yes we can

where there is a will there is a way

we were told by every singlr agency in canada that you can not adopt if you do not live in canada
cant adopt through usa channels as we are not us citizens .

but a good lawyer reffered us to another good lawyer who had helped a couple in our situation in the past 2 years ,and they have 2 little girls from china

that lawyer only helped with the usa immigration of the babies but contacted that couple and got us the information of the person who knows the process .
i e-mailed her and we are geting started
need lots of prayers and any piece of advice that could help
thank you ladies you were a great support when we were going through the fertility treatement and now look forward to your kind words again

sam,

Welcome to the world of adoption! CONGRATS! There is a sort of peace that the whole adoption process brings and for the first time is a long time gives me a little bit of control over this "baby stuff". It is really interesting to work on the paperwork and do the research and actually be a part of the whole process. It is a wait - but there is a child at the end of it! That much I do know!

Hey Sam.

:wavey:

Nice to see you here!

I know you've been through so much already; I'm glad you've found some encouraging news about your ability to adopt.

As Em mentioned, the wait to adopt can be longer than we'd like, but there is also a confidence that we WILL be parents at the end of the process - a much different feeling from those I experienced during fertility treatments.

I'm anxious to read about your progress.

Jillie

Hi hopeful,
I hope you are still around! Dh and I are starting to warm up to the idea of adoption, and would like to get the ball rolling even while we continue with ivf. We are sort of in your boat, as we are both Canadian, bu will be moving to California in July 2007 for 1, maybe 2 years. The plan is definately to come back to Canada after that. Is there any point in starting the adoption process o r is it really too comlicated being in another country? I am totally new to this whole thing, and not even firmly committed to adoption yet, but wanting to get a sense of what it involoves. Your help would be much appreciated
thanks
sm

Hi Sam
Thanks so much for the info, it is certainly a great place to start. We are living in Montreal now, but plan to move to California in2 months for 1-2 years, and then after that will probably settle in Ontario. Unfortunately the moving around is not an ideal time to be adopting, but if the waits are as long as some people say, we do want to start the process, so at least the waiting can be done while we are away.
I am sorry that pakistan is not working out for you. Are you looking at other options?
Good luck
SM

hi sm
you should definitly start the process now ,specially get all the info as the process sound some what complicated ,but martha is the one ..so far the only one who seems to know how to do it .
i contacted her through the e-mail and she replies with in 24 hours.

dh and i are thinking about getting our genetic testing done, we know every thing cant be detected but for the peace of mind we want to get that done and then decide our next step
