Just wondering if anyone with severe endo started a cycle with letrozole (instead of birth control pills/estrogen patch/lupron) and had success…?
Any one tried a IVF cycle start with letrozole?

I did letrazole for an iui cycle and I got a bfn. I did want to say that when I was on that medication, it made me feel rotten, very tired and very sad too. It was like I had the blues. Watch out for that. I also heard it was recalled but maybe it's not anymore. Good luck!
married since 1996. '98 went to first ob and given clomid and written off at the door. '99 went to second ob and he did a lap and said if we weren't pg in 6 months referral to RFP. '00 went to RFP and re said she couldn't explain why we couldn't get pg but didn't investigate ether. '03 natural bfp and had m/c at 12 weeks. '04 went to another ob who was an re. he did iui, testing. '05 iui with letrazole-bfn. '06 iui and clomid and cancelled cycle and went in for surgery. Lap and hysteroscopy. did iui and injections and bfn. Referred to RFP again because re got us as far as he could and re said I had high fsh, lh and pof and pcos and endo, also suggested egg donation. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have dd. went to RFP and were told ivf was not a good idea because I respond poorly to meds. ok, let's move onto d/e. Couldn't do d/e until we had a failed cycle under out belts with my eggs. '07 did ivf with my eggs, retrived 3 and 1 made it to transfer- chemical. So moved onto d/e. '09 went back to RFP again for the orientation and consult for d/e and cycled in April '09- 13 eggs retrieved and 4 made it to day 3. Two transferred and bgp with dd. Dd born on 01/01/10!!!! Were crown the New Years Baby!!!! '14 came back for consult and did fet in Nov which was a bfn

I know my RE team use it in one of their protocols. It's basically an antagonist protocol, but using Letrozole (Femara instead of normal suppression). They use it on women with DOR, or porr egg quality. Goal is to improve egg quality, but collect only a few eggs, aka quality over quantity. I read a nice paper on it (which included good success rates on patients who had bad results in prior IVF), but the clinic just reworked their website and the link doesn't work.

Left Hydrosalpinx seen on Ultrasound during my first miscarriage
July 2013: ER visit, found Ectopic pregnancy in right tube, internal bleeding, emergency surgery with removal of both my tubes. Next phase IVF
IVF #1: March/April 2014, Antagonist protocol with Estrogen priming, OHSS risk, no transfer but many frosties
FET#1: June/July 2014: BFN...
FET#2: October 2014: BFP
July 19th: DD is born. Our little miracle

This drug is routinely used for cancer patients who have Breast cancer I believe. I also had constant headaches while on it. Worse than when I was on the Syneral. Good luck.

I used it with this cycle for the first 5 days of stims I believe. I am in my 2ww so can't speak to outcomes just yet. Good luck!

June 2013 - IUI #1 - BFP!! M/C at 7 1/2 weeks.
September 2013 - May 2014 - IUI #2, 3 and 4
August/September 2014 - IVF #1 - 6 retrieved, 4 fertilized, nothing to transfer
October 2014 - (unmedicated) IUI #5 - BFN
November 2014 -IVF #2 - retrieved 8, 4 fertilized. Day 3, transferred 3 embies - (2 5-cell and 1 8-cell) -BFN
February/March 2015 - IVF #3 - 13 retrieved, 6 fertilized. Freeze all. March 17 - 3 frosties!
FET #1 April/May 2015
Transfer May 7 - one 19+ extended blast with assisted hatching - BFP!! M/C at 11 1/2 weeks.
FET #2.1 September/October 2015 - cancelled due to poor lining.
FET #2.2 - November 2015 - BFN
Feb/March 2016 - IVF #4 with donor eggs - BFN
July 2016 - IVF #5/FET with donor #2 - BFP
