Hi I'm am completely stuck on deciding who will help me best.
I am 42 years with systemic lupus and my Dh and I have been going to Ccrm with great success with ivf. We were able to get two perfectly tested embies.
My history: 2013 I went to Cornell I had 3ivf resulting in 2 cm and 1 ectopic. So after getting two embies frm Ccrm we transferred both this last October, but prior to Fet I found a perinatologist that did a full immunology test on me. He put me on intralipids, lovenox 2x a day, prednisone 4g daily, metanix, metformin, and ba.
I thought I was in great condition. Both embies implanted but by week 7.. They were blighted ovum. I was devasted.
The problem I realized was my perinatologist didn't monitor me, nor did he check a week after if my nk cells activity dropped after my first intralipids. He said afterwards that nxt time he will do ivig. That's not good enough. so I'm going back to the drawing board, but this time I want an immunologist.

So dr braverman vs Kwak-Kim.
Dr Kk takes my insurance, but is more conservative and from what I've been reading she pretty much gives similar protocol as my doc did only she likes using ivig, and she monitors.

Dr. B doesn't take insurance and is quite expensive. But he uses every possible thing to make sure u don't get a miscarriage. He is a little less conventional. However I'm not sure about his ivf for women in their early 40's. When I spoke to him he said he will help me if he does the transfer of I have embies made elsewhere. All I want is for him to monitor me after fet but not have him do the fet. Does he do that?

So I'm stuck, pay a lot money but knowing he will have a more aggressive approach even though I won't know if his ivf will work for me?
Or stick with Ccrm cuz their ivf works for me even though I have to pay for them too and then see dr Kk. Ugh confused.

Royche, I am sorry for your losses.

I also have SLE and APS.  What are you taking for your Lupus?  Where are you located?  I have just moved and met my new Perinatologist, who is fabulous, and he has a wonderful understanding of Lupus and pregnancy.  There is a FB group for Lupus and TTC/pregnancy, perhaps some of the women on there would be able to direct you to a MFM/Rhuemy that is more aggressive?

When I did my successful IVF I did it at a clinic in Canada called Victoria Fertility Centre.  The RE there is quite progressive and I really appreciate the care I got there.
