Betas
October
14 14 dpo 50 10am
16 16 dpo 148 30.66 doubling time 10am
20. 20 dpo 531 53.17 doubling time 12pm
24 24 dpo 1116 86.79 doubling time. 9 am
27 27 dpo 2077 80.34 doubling time 9 am

We put two embryos in and these are my betas. Us on sat showed a tiny sac but then on Tuesday showed the sac had grown but no fetal pole or yolk. Sat I was 5 weeks 1 day and Tuesday I was 5weeks 4 days. I have another US on Tuesday because she offered to give me the miscarriage pill since she believes it is not a viable pregnancy. I felt that the numbers and US probably say that but I have seen a few success stories. So I wanted to wait and be sure. And it's still growing I can't kill it till I know it's gone.

I am hoping its possible that two stuck and one was slowly letting go and that's why the slower rise and then it's getting shorter again? Of course we will never know. Maybe it's just the one trying to hang on and not giving up but it's abnormal to and it's slowly living to die. Ugh I wish it was easier and I would know either way.

Everybody is fixated on a 48 hour doubling time. In reality it is 48-72 hrs and that is simply the average. There are people who have a rapid doubling and people who are slower who have normal healthy pregnancies.

I am surprised you had an ultrasound so early. If an embryo was a bit of a late implanter a few days at that stage can radically change ultrasound results. My clinic doesn't do ultrasounds until 7 weeks. Honestly, I would hesitate to do anything drastic on Tuesday because it is still so early. As long as the sac is in the uterus I don't see any risk in waiting a bit longer to see what happens.

I agree with Crazy. My clinic doesn't do the first viability u/s until week 7 because things are so variable prior to then. I'd wait until your next u/s before making any decisions. I wish you the best.

I second everything both ladies said. I had my first ultrasound done at 6 weeks just to see how many babies are inside. I was told right from the beginning that we most likely won't be able to see heartbeats cause it is too early. So I am very surprised they wanted you to take miscarriage medication. Listen to your guts and don't do anything for a while. Continue progesterone if you are on it.

Same here, our clinic doesn't do anything before 7weeks as it's too unpredictable (and distressing) when you don't see anything. Good luck!

The only reason my RE does early u/s is to rule out ectopics so just those with something suggestive of ectopic (symptoms, past history, odd patterns in beta levels, etc.) would have an u/s before 7-8 weeks.

Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you. Yes she did the early one to make sure it wasn't ectopic because of the slow rise. I'm staying hopeful. I only have a couple days left. But it still may be too soon as I will be 6 weeks 4 days.

I hope you see a viable embryo. Your numbers are ok, not as bad as the dr is saying. I've seen worse that landed up as live babies. I think the assumption of a vanishing twin is a good explanation. Good luck!

At 5 weeks it would be very hard to see much on an ultrasound.  I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks (I had OHSS so they were checking for pockets of fluid) and they didn't see anything.  At just over 6 weeks I had another ultrasound (to check on the pregnancy) and they saw the two sacs.  I was warned ahead of time that it was too early to see a heartbeat - I didn't see the heartbeats till after the 7 week ultrasound.

So much can change over the coming days.  Your betas don't even look unreasonable.  Betas are one of the only indicators of the pregnancy until an ultrasound can establish a viable pregnancy.  Most doctors don't put a lot of weight on them as long as they are increasing at a reasonable rate.  If the numbers are very low then they start to worry about ectopics but it looks like they've ruled this out for you.

Hopefully you will get some good news at your next ultrasound.  Its hard because you obviously rely on the medical advice of your RE but you also want to be your own advocate and listen to your gutt.

She did another US today and it was 4 weeks 6 days and now is 5 weeks 1 day. I'm 6 weeks 4 days. So hard to believe its not working out. I guess I will stop the progesterone and estrogen and wait to naturally miscarry.

LZKZ, your numbers are way better than mine were in my last pregnancy.  Mine ended in MC, but I hung in there when the doctors kept pushing the pills on me, saying "its probably ectopic" with no proof of that.  I often wonder if they are just covering their butts.  Anyway I let nature take its course and when they tested the tissue it turned out that the pregnancy itself was totally 'normal'.  And that I had an anatomical issue that caused the MC.

I know that things feel hopeless at the moment (believe me, I know) but things change so fast, in such a short time.  The doctors know the averages and what's been researched...but they do not know the mysterious things that are happening inside your body.  Hang in there.  Sending you sticky vibes.

Thank you.
Tuesday I went and nothing in the sac still. 6 weeks 4 days but the sac had grown a bit to 5 weeks 1 day. My doctor said there was no hope it was not where I should be and I knew she was right. I talked to my husband and he said why not wait another week. But we did ivf and I didn't have a weeks worth of progesterone and it didn't seem like she would give me anymore. I was in denial all week and kept taking what I had and made an appointment for Friday to talk to her about how I had trouble accepting it and my husband was coming home to see her too. So we went and I told her how I was having trouble accepting it and that I wish it could happen on its own and not by me stopping my pills as I felt I was killing it. And what about how there is one baby and all of a sudden a second one appears. Like could it be hiding somewhere? I felt desperate. We put in two and only have one sac. So she said I know it's hard and I will do another Us. I said I knew it would be the same but was hoping for more closure. So as soon as she went in I saw an embryo and a yolk sac but didn't believe myself. Then she said it was there. But it's only 5 weeks 5 days and no heartbeat. I was 7 weeks. But 3 days ago there was no embryo or yolk sac. And so I'm choosing to hope again. Even though she and my husband tell me not to. But she seemed shocked to even find that and so I'm going to let my baby grow until its done. I know it could turn out or not turn out. But I'm believing in miracles today. Please pray for my LO. I go back next Friday.

I am just updating in case someone ever searches and wonders what happened. I just had my miscarriage natural after stopping progesterone at almost 9 weeks. And then. After 9 weeks I miscarried. I want to say finally but I also wish I was still in the hopeful time. I know some of these did work out. And if your going through this And found this post. I'm so very sorry to anyone who has to do this. I also changed my user name because I feel it would be too recognizing from my clinic lol.

Thanks ladies. Yes I have a plan. I have a FET coming up in Jan. but I only have one and hope it thaws proper. I'm really nervous about only having one. And then if we were to do another cycle it wouldn't be till April may and I will be 41 so probably we won't. Idk and my tubes are blocked so natural is not really an option.
