I just had my SHG (sonohystrography) test for my polyps and seems I have atleast one (I don't have the full results yet) Has any one removerd uterine polyps here in Edmonton by surgery? I'm just wondering how long it takes to go for surgery. Is there any waiting list or it is usually quick?

Hi there,

I had a hysteroscopy and polypectomy by Dr. M in Edmonton. I think I only had to wait a week or so to get a surgery date, however, I think Dr. M was able to squeak me in as there was an open surgical bed at the right time in my cycle. Apparently they like to do it during a specific window in your cycle (after AF has ended but before potential ovulation), which may affect how they schedule things.

This was just over a year ago, so wait times may have changed...

Thanks a bunch Janny. I've been trying for two years to get pregnant but not yet (sad) and so it is very important for me to get rid of these polyps as soon as possible. Dr T who is my doctor is supper busy I hop he does it fast. Finger crossed

Right there with you girls!! Mine were found in August, I called in my cd 1 beginning of September and I'm booked for surgery on Sept 30, so not a terrible wait time at all. We will be doing a frozen transfer, and was told that I can start my drug protocol right away.

Mine were found Oct 2 and removed by Dr. T on Dec. 18. Apparently only Dr. M and Dr. T remove them (at least that's what I was told at the time)
