Hi Ladies,

 

I have started my first ever IVF cycle. We're doing PGS - embryo testing - due to a couple previous losses. We are aiming for a higher number of eggs so that we have some selection of embryos to test. 

 

I am on Day 4 of Stims 250 Bravelle 150 Menopur. I am going in Thursday to see what's happening with the follicles. I am wondering if this dosage is on the conservative side for meds. And if not much is happening say by Friday, is there still time to increase the meds and have an impact? I really want to maximize this cycle and just wanted to know your experiences/thoughts/

 

What meds and doses have you gals been given? At what stage are you in your stimulation and follicle growth? Are you meds being increased? etc.

Hi Gigi, I was on different meds so I can't speak to those or the doses, but my dose was increased on day 6 and again on day 7 and it went from a cycle that looked like crap to me getting 11 eggs (10 mature).  You can see the details in my signature for IVF #2.  Good luck and I hope that you get lots of wonderful eggs!

I was on bravelle and menopur, I believe I started off on the exact same dose as you for the 1st 4 days of the stims.  I wasnt responding the way my RE had hoped so I was increased to the max dose 450 bravelle, 150 menopur. Once you go in tmr they will know what you should be at, if you are not there your RE will increase your meds and there is a lot of time to respond.  I was increased at Day 5, I went from very few follies to retrieval of 12 eggs (11 matured)...a big jump from the 4 that the RE was expecting.

 

Good luck with your cycle!! Have faith in the process and dont panic.  PS.  Try not to google too much, it will drive you insane...take it from me, I was second guessing everything because I was read what other people were experiencing, remember we all react differently.  This is wonderful forum tho, any question just ask on here, the ladies are wonderful.  Take care!!

Hi ggirl - I am currently on bravelle and menopur. My dose is 75 menopure and 225 bravelle. I'm currently on day 3 of injections and go for my first bloodwork on Friday. As the others have said, there is lots of time to up med dosages. They don't want to start high doses right off the bat as this can increase chances of OHSS. Good Luck and keep us posted!

I will be taking 150 Bravelle and 75 of Menopur.  I was told this was an average dose....but who knows. I'm now wondering if my RE has me on a plan that is too low hearing others talk about their dosage.......ARGH.  But anyways, to me yours seems to be starting on the higher side...but this is all new to me too!

I started on two vials of each. I was upped one at a time till I was 4 bravelle and 3 menopur. I am now in the 2ww. My first cycle I was on 2 bravelle and 1 menopur. Much slower response this time.

Thanks so much for your responses! I started 150 of each and then was bumped to 225 bravelle. We should keep each other posted for those who are currently cycling.  Will give an update!

I did 375 Bravelle, and 75 Repronex for 8 days, then 375 Bravelle and 150 Repronex for 2 days.

Hi Everyone, here's my update:

 

follicles appear to be growing. Saw a bunch on the ultrasound. None yet over 1.5 but we are still day 5. I was told to start cetritide tonight for suppression. So things are going. I am trying to be cautiously optimistic. 

 

Hi ilovemydog - how many eggs did you retrieve? And were you happy with it? 

 

Hi Watermelon - regarding your protocol, you are younger than me by 10 years (yikes) which is something taken into account I believe.e

I retrieved 7 mature eggs. We had to leave 2 behind because they could not be retrieved - not sure if they were mature. We ended up with 4 blasts. Transferred 2 (4aa, 2ab) at day 5. By day 6 we had two blasts to freeze (4aa, 4cb). I am now 9dp5dt.

I am 37, to put it into perspective.

I was on 150 of Bravelle and 75 of Menopur and even that dose caused me to be a freeze all case due to OHSS. I'm 36 and they retreived 22 eggs from me though I have quite a high AMH level.

After 4 days of stims my E2 was 442. They've upped my menopure dose from 75iu to 225iu and my Bravelle stays the same at 225.

I'm currently on day 5 of stims and taking 20 units Suprefact, 150 Bravelle and 300 Menopur. This is my second IVF cycle, the first was cancelled due to poor response to medication (was on antagonist protocol). I go in for bw and us in 3 days to find out follicle growth. Hoping and wishing there's a way better response this time! Also, I'm 30 years old. 

 

Hoping you all have an awesome response to the medication and have lots of healthy eggs to choose from!

I started with 150IU Gonal F and 75IU Menopur.

 

Dosage was decreased after three days, to 100IU Gonal F and 75IU Menopur.

 

Then, bumped up to 125IU Gonal F (after Cetrotide was started).  Cetrotide is known to lower estradiol levels.  I did 125 until my final stim day, 10 days.  Along, with the 75IU Menopur.

 

They saw 17 follicles on my u/s but I've learned not all follicles contain an egg.  They retrieved 10 eggs, 8 mature, 6 fertilized.  I currently have 4 blastocysts, frozen (had to do a "freeze all" because my estrogen was really high).
