Hey everyone!

I started my fragmin injections last night and woke up this morning and had a big bruise on my stomach (the size of my palm or bigger) there is also a hard lump where I injected the medication.

Just wondering if this is normal? And what suggestions anyone has to make the bruising not so bad!?!? Thanks in advance.
Me -27. DH-32
Me- PCOS- diagnosed when 14ishDH- 100% normal
Married 2009
Took a year "off" before TTC - ha ha hind sight is a wonderful thing!
Talked to the doctor about PCOS( as he was not the one who diagnosed me with it originally)-- wanted us to ttc naturally for a year before fertility treatments.

2011- 2012- sent to RFP for a consult. Suggested to go on clomid, went on clomid for numerous cycles. Nothing was happening, phoned to get on IVF waiting list, doc told me to stay on clomid because it was working for me, just might take a little more time. (He said this without ever monitoring me). Went back to family doctor and he suggested

VFC2013-- phone consult with VFC, decided to do IVF

August 2013- Severe OHSS, all embryos frozen- 10 in total
November- 2013- set to do first FET, estrace didn't make lining thick enough and also breast lump was found (benign, but still monitoring) so cycle was cancelled.

February 2014- FET #1- BFN
April 2014- FET #2- BFN
July 2014- FET#3- BFN.......

Mock cycle to do an ERA test and do another FET if ERA comes back good.
ERA test done on Nov. 13th- results came back Receptive- thats good news i guess.... still no answers as why the previous 3 FETS didnt work

December 2014-
FET#4- BFN
Wtf appointment- doctor thinks DH and I are too genetically similar and therefore my body rejects the embryo and the NK cells take over.

January 2015- immune testing- dh and I are a partial match meaning 1 out of 4 embryo will not implant and I have high NK cells. Trying another transfer. Gluten free 12 weeks, intralipids 10 days prior to ET, and also day of ET. Prednisone and estrace.
March 19- intralipid treatment
March 29- transferred 1 grade 17 embryo using assisted hatching and more intralipids

April 10th - BETA - BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In total shock!
Beta#1- 335
Beta# 2- April 13- 1250 We are officially pregnant :) Now to wait for our 7 week ultrasound! 7 week ultrasound went great- Baby was measuring 6w6d and a heartbeat of 140!!!! so cool to watch the little heartbeat!! EDD December 16th Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

I have not taken that drug but  I wonder if you hit a blood vessel?  That happened to me with acupuncture once but the bruise was only the size of a loonie or maybe a bit bigger.  I would contact your clinic to make sure that it is nothing to worry about.

Did you inject it really fast?  What I was told to reduce bruising was to squeeze a big chunk of fat (like a big handful).  Insert needle, inject slowly, then hold the needle in and hold the fat for 5 seconds.  Then, release the fat but hold the needle for another 5 seconds.  Pull the needle out quickly, then, get a kleenex and apply pressure to the spot for 30 seconds or so.  After doing that, I didn't have a single bruise this round.  Also, switch sides from day today and try to not inject in the same location twice.

Good luck!  I hope that it is nothing to worry about and I hope that you don't bruise from now on!

I take Fragmin and my bruises are just small (right at injection site). I am thinking you might have hit a blood vessel. Is that you first injection? If it happens again, I'd go talk to your clinic. Hope they get easier for you.

This happened to me. The bruise wasn't as big but there was a hard bump.
You definitely hit a blood vessel.
What I found worked most of the time was grabbing a chunk of fat, (if you have thin skin then you can see the bigger veins and can avoid those), inject while grabbing the fat, remover the needle while still grabbing the fat and then apply pressure for at least 2 minutes after removing the needle.

Make sure you alternate sides daily. It's inevitable that you will get bruising but the above should minimize it.

Thanks ladies. My shot yesterday was much better. Still bruised but it's tiny in comparison to the first one! I did it slowly pinched and put ice on after.

Is there any spot you can't take the injection on your tummy? above, below and both sides of belly button all okay?

Did you get the side effects sheet when you got the fragmin. It shows the spots to give the shot. Here is the link if you don't have it. Glad to hear your last shot wasn't as bad. http://www.pfizer.ca...t_infosheet/151

I just started fragmin on Monday. I'm getting little lumps and bruises at the injection sites. I also find the injection itself to be painful. I used to think PIO was bad. This is worse!
TTC since 2009; IUI x 3 All BFN
IVF #1 Aug/13 = BFN
FET #1 Nov/13 = cancelled thin lining
FET #2 Dec/13 = chemical
FET #3 Aug/14 = cancelled thin lining
FET #4 Sept/14 = BFN

SURPRISE BFP!!!! Sept/15 ultrasounds at 8, 10, and 12 weeks show one strong little bean :)
