Anyone know their fsh and want to share. I want to see if fsh has an affect on outcome like the doctors say it possible does. I have read posts with women with fsh levels higher than 20 and they get pg. Thanks

i had an fsh of 8, did not get bfp on fresh cycle, but did with an FET #3 transfer. the fsh for the FET would be what it was a time of retrieval.

Rosa,

Good luck with your beta on the 28th. I will say a little prayer for you.

I am wondering tho, with the FSH levels of most of us. I had my FSH before the Clomid challenge and were great---15 and after the clomid it was 10, so at the end of AF it did drop down, and my doctor was a little concerned and just stated that my eggs were "getting old" and that I need to take this opportunity now if I want to have a baby--and not wait too long. Ok, fine, we did just that but still ended with a m/c. Which I am thinking it must have alot to do with FSH and getting a BFP. Will see what my labs show next month. I do hope for nothing too drastic. I want it to be the same as before!! I know it won't be better!! LOL

AGain, I will say a little prayer for you and sending you LOTS and LOTS of Baby Dust your way!!

At the pre-IUI evaluation in March, mine was 8.62; IUI was unsuccessful. I had another done two days ago as part of the prep for IVF and it was 7.41. I've read that FSH fluctuates from month to month so don't really know how accurate a picture it really give.

Hello Everyone,
This is a great question of FSH levels and getting a postive or negative result for pregancy. I am on my first IVF now and I am totally postive and believe that it will work but I know that the last few months my FSH has been high normal at 11. It sort of freaks me out because I do not need two things working against me that is for sure. I guess we will see how this IVF #1 goes and take it from there. I have asked at the clinic and they do not seem to be worried about the number. I have even had a 16 on my FSH level a couple of months ago and when I repeated it was 11. I have asked many questions becuse it was only the last time that I was at the clinic that it was even told to me that my FSH level was high. I was not happy since we have been going to the clinic for over a year now. anyways just alittle venting and it made me feel better so that is good thing. I just wish that this was a little easier and not so many unknowns it is killing me. Is it that much for all of us to ask to just have a healthy baby!!!!!! Sorry for the venting!!!
Hope 111

I've had FSH as high as 7.7 and with my most recent cancelled IVF it was 4.4 I've never responded well and have never made it to ER in all three attempts. Not sure what to make of FSH levels. And I've only just turned 33, if that matters at all.

I had a really low FSH (I think it was around 2) and I got a BFP with IVF/ICSI first try. I was 31 at the time and did respond well to the stims. We ended up with 9 good embryos to work with. Our FET failed at age 34. At that time, when I was having ultrasounds to prepare, the doctor said that I still had a good ovarian reserve if I ever wanted to try IVF again. I am so hoping she was right and that it holds true for awhile longer. I have no idea what my FSH is now though. How does FSH work anyways? Can you have a great FSH one year then have it fall drastically or does it kind of wane out slowly?

I have a question, when you guys are giving your FSH number is that after the birth control pills before stimming? I noticed that my FSH was much lower after the supression fo the BC. I've always wondered if my low number on my last blood test had anything to do with the BC? normally I am between 5-8. But I went down to 2.

Amygirl,
I don't know about anyone else but my current clinic doesn't use BCP for suppression (the head RE thinks it too often leads to over suppression) so the numbers I gave way back are without any suppression of any kind. After my failed IVF (in July) my FSH jumped to 15.5, too high to cycle that AF but they prescribed a Cetrotide shot for, I think Day 10, which was then followed 2-3 days later by AF and when I had my FSH read again it was 8.4.

These numbers are just indicators though and not truly predictive; particularly since there are so many other factors at play.

Fingers crossed for you and everyone else!

Both my FSH results were without any form of stimulation. My first was 10.9 and the second time round, it was 11.5 so not so far off. I have no idea what it was during BCP and stimming as it was not tested. My clinic's cutoff level for using your own eggs was 12 so I felt stressed when d'regging.

However, I did get pg on my first IVF so, hope111, don't despair!

So can clomid affect your FSH even when you're not taking it that month? I wish you all the best of luck with this cycle.

FSH 12.6 ( that was several months ago and they stopped testing me after a while, so it may have even been higher). I do know that my ovarian reserve is very low for being in my early 30's. I started this cycle with an antral follicle count of 4, 3 of those follicles responded to high doses of stims, I had 3 eggs retrieved and just 2 of those were mature. Both fertilized and we transferred 2 good quality embryos on day 3. I am 6 weeks pregnant today.

Unexplained IF/ DOR. Began TTC in 2008.
After a wild and crazy ride on the treatment train, our baby GIRL arrived on Jan 6, 2012

I am not sure how to vote, my wife's FSH level was at 16.3 when the doctor said it was to high to do IVF. I asked him if we got it below 10 if we could do another cycle and he said there was no hope of that! We got it down below with DHEA and they had us test it again and it was down to 7.0 and the doctor said we were good to start our 3rd cycle. We got a natural pregnancy and told the doctor we had to cancel the cycle.
8/2011 - Changed from IVF to IUI due to no mature eggs BFN
11/2011 - 1st IVF which was BFP
12/2011 - Terminate pregnancy due to being tubal

I'm 41, both FSH tests were prior to any kind of IVF treatment (suppression, stimming etc).

1st FSH was 10, 2nd FSH about half a year later was 15. The dr told me when it increases that fast, it's not just age related infertility. There was a lot of testing after that, and they determined (as far as I can tell) that it was due to endo cysts on my ovary (esp the left ovary, that one is pretty big). No more FSH testing after that (unless it was during suppression/stimming b/w and they only told me it was ok).

1st IVF and now 5 wks pg - and totally feeling it!! I hope it sticks.

My FSH was 13.9 when I did my 1st (and only) IVF. I know there are some clinics that will say that number is too high and would advise against going forward, but my RE had no concerns about it all... and she was right, I had a beautiful baby girl!
Me: 40, DH: 42. TTC #1 Jan 2009 with high FSH (13.1) and DOR.
3 IUIs (2 clomid, 1 Puregon) - all BFN
IVF #1: August 2010
Aug 15: started stims (Menopur 450) ER Aug 27: 8 retrieved, 6 mature, all 6 fertilized. ET Aug 30: transferred 2 perfect embies! Froze 3. Sept 13 beta: 580, Sept 15 beta: 1186, Sept 29: first u/s, one perfect little bean! HB 134bpm. Apr 29, 2011: our beautiful baby girl was born 3 weeks early.
TTC#2: FET#1 Sept 3, 2012 - BFN. One frostie left. FET#2 Nov 2012 - BFN :( On to IVF #2 (FSH 12.5, AMH 1.4): Feb 2013
Feb 17: started stims (600 Menopur).

I had an FSH of 6 for my first cycle and it failed. FSH is a very crude number and as to be looked at with other factors, but it's only one part of the picture. There are other factors that contribute to a negative or positive and FHS is one of the many predictors, but not the be all and end all.

See about me page.

Have to agree with Malbec,FSH is just a biomarker and nothing more!

Diagnosis: Repeated Pregnancy Loss + DOR + Advance maternal Age.

So far no luck with IVF attempts. Hope things take a turn soon.
