What's up with Day 6 transfers? Recommended? Anyone with success or failure?

I think day 6 embryos are quite common - my DS is day 6 success story

September 1, 2011 - Fertilization report: 15 fertilized through ICSI.

September 19, 2011 - BFP! EDD: May 24, 2012
October 7, 2011 - Ultrasound. One little bean, heartbeat 147 b/m
October 30, 2011 - Miscarried at 10weeks3days.

March 19 - ET, single embryo transfer
April 12 - Miscarried at 6weeks

August 3, 2012 - ET single embryo BFP - EDD April 22, 2013

Dx: Stage 4 endo
1 laparotomy, 3 laparoscopies, 3 years of BFN - 1 failed IUI
IVF #1 BFP - DS born January 15, 2012
IVF #2 July 2013 - BFFN
FET #1 - October 15, 2013 - TWINS !!!
SCH very small or gone at 27 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Panda and Ms.Fitzy - if I;m reading your signature correctly, you both were successful on a day 6 blast that was frozen and then used for a FET?

Yes, mine was FET. I did have a m/c from a day 5 fresh and day 6 FET as well.

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with a 6 day blastocyst from a FET. All of my blastocysts were from day 6. We made 5 - day 6 blastocysts and one of the five blastocysts is the baby I'm currently carrying.

yes, I transferred 2 fresh day 5s with no success ... 3 stuck around to freeze on day 6 ... FET 2 months later with success

No success story but my clinic is now growing out to day 6 for any of the embryos that are not blasts on day 5. My RE thinks they are only slighly worse than day 5 blasts. I'm transferring 2 day day 6 embryos this cycle - here's hoping!!
