Has anyone experienced a Fallopian tube recanalization? Didn't get much info from the doc, not sure what to expect. Paperwork says to make sure someone is with me for 24 hours after - am I going to be useless for a day? Can I go to work the next day? Will I be put under for the procedure? I thought it would be like the hysterosonograms I've had before - where I was on antibiotics to avoid infection and ibuprofen to manage discomfort but I haven't been told to take either for the canalization. I tried calling the hospital to ask the questions but they don't answer and haven't responded to my voicemail. Very frustrating.

I am pretty sure it is considered "day" surgery just like a D&C procedure...I think it's about 20 min procedure & you will be put under which is why you need someone with you for 24 hours after. Even the IVF retrieval is like that.
Hope this helps :-)
