Hi I just want to know if the ER time does not happen on the right time what would be the possible concequences? what is the best time between trigger shut and egg retrival? what if this time passes?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a doc or andrologist but would expect that the risk of going much beyond the 24-26 hours post trigger range would be that the eggs would be released before they could be collected for use in IVF. If all the eggs are released before they can be collected, no IVF can take place; if some remain and can be collected then you might be able to go ahead but obviously with fewer shots at finding the "golden egg" than you might have had. FWIW, both mine were closer to 36 hours than 24.

Fingers crossed for you.

It's actually about 36 hours. We did our shot at 11 pm, had a day off from all shots and then did my retrieval the day after that in the morning.

Me - now 35 Him - 36
Trying to conceive since our wedding day May 25, 2008.
Started Clomid Jan-April 2012.
Referred to RFP June 2012.
First consult at RFP November 2012.
First IVF cycle on antagonist protocol (GonalF, Luveris) January 2013.
Transferred two day-3 embryos, had severe OHSS, lost one twin between 7-13 weeks but was expecting one little one October 2013.
Found out at 6 mos that our little one had died weeks earlier and had to induce and deliver stillborn, July 25, 2013.
Something found on adrenal gland at follow up ultrasound, MRI showed what seems to be a benign tumor. Meeting with specialist Jan 8, 2014 - all fertility treatments on hold. :/
Tumor is definitely producing Aldosterone (causes high blood pressure) and Cortisol. Lucky me, only 34 similar cases recorded in the world! Tumor removed May 2014.
Approached about a possible adoption March 2014. Rush through all the paperwork and process.
Charlotte Evangeline born June 27, 2014. We brought her home on July 7 and held our breath for 10 days until she officially became ours.

We were told we had 36 hours from time of trigger to collection. My trigger was at 11:30pm and we had to be at the clinic not the next day but following day. They time it out for you so there should be no worries. They stagger when people do their triggers so they are able to do retrieval after retrieval. Best of luck.

Dear mouse ,JacMac, and waiting forbfp
Really thanks you for all your responses.
Dear Mouse, I guess 36 is the ultimate time but I feel you are correct. At my clinic my doctor got stuck in snow and had to Ferlinghetti from Windsor to Toronto and we did ours late. I suspect that I had lost my golden ones too. But I am looking for a doc to proof. They were very nervious but didn't tell us anything. I feel sth wrong!!!
Wish you all best of luck

Thanks for catching my typo JacMac - I had meant 24 to 36 hours of course (per the labelling on my ovidrel shot).

There will be a bit of a window to aim for. 36 hours should be near the start of that window. If the retrieval is done too soon the eggs will not have released from the wall of the follicle and those follicles will seem empty, too late and you will have ovulated. If they weren't seeing ruptured follicles (those that have ovulated already) and they were getting eggs you should be okay (other than being even more stressed than you would have been anyways).

Good luck with everything!

I have never heard of someone ovulating 24 hours after trigger. I was always told your egg goes through it's final maturation process after trigger and then is released 36-48 hours afterward. If 24 hours was common to ovulate they wouldn't wait for the 36 hour mark to do retrieval for IVF or everyone would have no eggs to retrieve.
