Hi Lisa, so glad things went well. I bet you are excited to get those results! Awesome you could sneak in earlier too! As for me it has been 3 weeks since I asked to be scheduled in for a lap and I am still waiting for them to tell me what day getting super annoyed about that. They could have told me it would take a while. The receptionist made it sound like she was going to call me back the next day with an appointment. I am trying to let work know as I am taking a leave from work for this and my next cycle; hopefully only one! I am not a patient person lol!

Awww that sucks... what if you called them and bug them everyday, LOLL. Maybe they would get so annoyed that they would schedule you asap . Timing work and all these procedures is hard. Especially if you have to give a few days/weeks notice to your employer. I'm not a patient person either, so I know how you are feeling.

Hey Lisa, how are things? We called the clinic today and now they are telling us that we won't hear about a date till maybe January. Also I probably won't get surgery till March which means I won't start IVF till around may or June!!! I am so upset right now. I hope you have better news.

Omg... that is suck a long wait.... Is there a way you can see another doc (like a regular ob/gyn) and have a lap done at a hospital... That's really not fun. As if what you are going thru isnt stresfull enough. I do understand they have many patients and all, but still...

 

I saw my local ob/gyn and got the results from my u/s and the gallons of blood I gave them a month ago, loll. I'm not sure how I feel right now (in a good way..) U/S showed a "mass" so next stop... MRI. But my blood test... everything came back normal BUT... my androgen levels and DHEA where elevated. He then explained that with elevated male hormones (my testosterone was normal), my ovaries are not working like they should (explaining the low AFC). I ask about my FSH levels during the luteal phase and he said they were great... he then asked: Why? where you told you were heading toward menopause, I said yes... he laugh... he said NO, you are not... I said but my results on day 3 were at 13.. he said yes, however; the lab you went to have a normal cut-off value of 15... so you are in the norm for that lab. If you would have went to lab with cut off values lower then that, your values would have been lower (which they have). He then told me, that if I go to a lab that the RE has no experience with and doesn't look at the labs normal values, my results cannot be interpreted properly.

 

So I had repeat blood test and i now have to get an MRI.. Now to wait 2 months for it.. blah...

Hi Lisa, I am not sure that it would take me just as long to go through my regular ob/gyn. I tried getting in to see him earlier and they said I had to wait over a month just to see him. I imagine I would then have to wait another month or so for the surgery. Currently I am on the waiting list to have surgery at mcmaster hospital in Hamilton. From what I hear the 4 month wait is typical. I think I will look into other possibilities though. I'm just so upset that they kept telling me I would be having surgery in 2 months. I've already waited a month just waiting for an appointment time! That's awesome news for you though! Well I guess in a way, but not so cool they found a mass. Maybe that's the issue though and then just ironing some things out. Great that you finally found someone who knows their stuff! Did he say what his plans were to fix the androgen levels, or is that what the extra bloodwork is for? That's strange that different labs use different reference values. Guess we are both waiting again. I hope your results shed some more light!

Waiting just plain sucks... I wish we could by pass all this waiting... I really hope you get that call telling you that you are going in for surgery very soon.

 

My doc did say there's a way to reduce the androgen and DHEA levels but I don't really know what it is yet...  It's weird because I have no sign of high androgen levels. But i'll just have to wait... loll

Hi 2ndchance, I'm reading your posts and I can relate 100%! I left my previous clinic and by chance I got in on a cancellation and only waited a month to get into my new clinic. Had the first appointment a few weeks ago, was told I had endo (something my previous clinic failed to pick up on!). Today, I called to find out what was happening with my lap since I still haven't got a date... At the appointment, I was told that I'd have a date by now. Today I find out that I won't get a phone call about my lap til March. Jeez I wish they had just told me from the getgo what the realistic wait time would be like... I feel like I'm getting depressed from all the waiting...

yup, that's what I went through... it's so frustrating!!!!  I asked to book a Lap back in October,  I am finally getting my surgery at the end of March!  I didn't find out my surgery date until about 2 months before my date.  The waiting definitly sucks. 

 

I was just told that they want me to do another IUI after my surgery.  I wanted to start IVF right away and now more waiting!!!! they said I needed to wait a month after the surgery anyways.  I just hope that my IVF cycle doesn't get pushed back more because of that.  I am getting so anxious about it all!

2ndchance: FINALLY, you got your date. Omg, that took for EVER. Many woman get pregnant naturally after a lap (if endo or something else is found) so maybe an iui isn't a bad idea.

Hi Lisa!

 

I know, I am soooo hoping the Lap is the ticket for me!  I am just going back and forth over the IUI, my last 2 hurt so bad!!  But I guess its better than doing IVF if I don't need to right away. 

 

I am just growing impatient lol!
