Can anyone tell me what to do to prepare your body for IVF? When to go for acupuncture? Is their any diet that could help to a healthy egg? I am really not doing anything but to wait for the heartland to call me to start the cycle. I am trying not to think over it as I get very anxious about the whole process.
Me - 35, blocked tubes both removed, endo, scar tissues, DOR
Dh - 33 healthy

I'm a very big fan of acupuncture! First you have to make sure that you go to one that specialises in fertility because the placement of needles are very important. The most important ones are the one done just before your transfer to open your uterus and the one afterqards to close it. Then I had one once a week for 12wks.

I personally don't know if there is any diet that helps egg quality but a healthy body can't hurt! I was on weight watches on the lead up to my transfers to try and be my healthiest.

The waiting part really sucks and just watching what I ate & exercise made me feel like I was doing something productive to help.
I hope my ramblings have helped and good luck!

At min. make sure you take a pre-natal vitamin with folic acid.   Reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake and watch your diet if you tend to eat a lot of refined carbs or processed foods.

Thank you ladies. I've been taking pre natal vitamins and try to eat healthy foods, I also cut down the intake of coffee. Does any of you know a doctor of acupuncture?

You can start taking ubiquinol or CoQ10 to help with egg quality. As well my acupuncturist recommends that I go on a gluten and dairy free (or at least very limited) diet for the few weeks beforehand to reduce inflammation in my body. Many recommend cuttingbacknsugar as well. Also start taking fish oil pills as they can help with implantation.

Good luck!
Me - now 35 Him - 36
Trying to conceive since our wedding day May 25, 2008.
Started Clomid Jan-April 2012.
Referred to RFP June 2012.
First consult at RFP November 2012.
First IVF cycle on antagonist protocol (GonalF, Luveris) January 2013.
Transferred two day-3 embryos, had severe OHSS, lost one twin between 7-13 weeks but was expecting one little one October 2013.
Found out at 6 mos that our little one had died weeks earlier and had to induce and deliver stillborn, July 25, 2013.
Something found on adrenal gland at follow up ultrasound, MRI showed what seems to be a benign tumor.
Meeting with specialist Jan 8, 2014 - all fertility treatments on hold. :/
Tumor is definitely producing Aldosterone (causes high blood pressure) and Cortisol. Lucky me, only 34 similar cases recorded in the world! Tumor removed May 2014.
Approached about a possible adoption March 2014. Rush through all the paperwork and process. Charlotte Evangeline born June 27, 2014. We brought her home on July 7 and held our breath for 10 days until she officially became ours.
Surprise BFP October 2014. Due to wonky cycles, ultrasounds convince Doctors I have a blighted ovum but detailed ultrasound reveals heartbeat at 6w3d. On progesterone support and waiting to see if pregnancy is still viable. Holding our breath again.
