Welcome Solomummy glad to have you! You don't have to feel guilty about anything that you feel, that's the point in them being Your feelings. I myself go from being completely negative, to somewhat hopeful every other day. Those BFN'S are a doozie on the psyche. Oh well, good morning all and have a great day!

Thanks Global!  Sorry about your recent BFN.  They do really take their toll.  Are you transferring 3 blasts for your FET?

39, "Mild" PCOS (or as the RE calls it "PCOS-ish"

Nov 2011 - Decided it was time to try for baby as a single mother by choice

Feb 14, 2012 - 1st Appt with RE

IUIs

May-Oct 2012 - 6 IUIs with Donor Sperm - unmedicated, clomid, and finally injectable cycles - all BFN

IVF#1

June 3, 2013 - Start IVF Protocol (Donor Sperm) 300IU gonal-f + 75IU Repronex.  12 follies on the left, none viewed on the right (tech couldn't see it)

June 10, 2013 - Super U/S tech locates my right ovary.  12 follies on the left, 10 on the right

June 12, 2013 - 23 follies in total, e2 of 4594, gonal-f reduced to 250IU and Repronex increased to 150IU.  Cetrotide added.

June 16, 2013 - 23 follies still growing!  Six largest are between 27-18mm.  Finally - HCG Trigger.

June 18, 2013 - 13 eggs retrieved!  RE is unable to reach my right ovary, despite putting the needle through my bladder (unpleasant to say the least)

June 19, 2013 - 12/13 eggs mature.  9 fertilized normally with ICSI.

June 23, 2013 - 9 made it two blast.  Two 5 day blasts transferred.

Yes my RE said that they are thawing all 3 and if they survive would like to transfer them all. I think mine is because of my age. These 3 are my last hope, so like you I'm not feeling very optimistic because the first 3 were supposed to be so great and didn't stick around. I want to be positive but am afraid to be ya know?

Has anyone had trouble getting Progersterone in Ethyl Oleate in Canada? (for IM injections)

I'm going to be starting injections this week for my FET but my pharmacy (Shoopers) is having trouble getting it - they say it might not be available. Lining scan on Tuesday. I live in Vancouver, BC.

I'm surprised by this, and my alternative is the Prog in sesame oil, but I've heard the ethyl oleate is thinner and easier to inject so I'd prefer that.

Anyone else have trouble getting this? Any idea where I could order from in Vancouver?

Thanks!

Does your clinic not fill your prescriptions?  Mine does and it was super convenient.

Hope you can find what you need!

I had the most unsettling dream last night and I can't shake it...I dreamt DH cheated on me and we were getting a divorce.  Then I was all confused about what to do with my frosties!

Terrible way to wake up today!  Glad it was only a dream lol!

Sarah - Any news on the testing? It's so uncool that they make you wait like that.

I've had my share of weird dreams. The most recent one was that somehow I was scheduled for a c-section on Monday and I had a boy who looked identical to DS but smaller, and next day me, DS and the new baby had to go for u/s (don't ask why) but there was traffic, so we went up one building and were jumping from one roof to the other. Yeah right!!! :D  Plus in the dream I was insisting on the name of the new baby that I don't like in real life.

With respect to Mt. Sinai, both DH & I didn't like a lot of things about that clinic, we changed clinics notwithstanding that I have 2 friends working there.  If you want more details you can PM me.

NerdyGirl - crsd.gif for a smooth transfer today!!!

SoloMummy - Really hoping that your cycles will get back to normal soon.  How long did it take to normalize after IUI with injectables? I agree with oneMorechance, no reason to feel guilty about your feelings.  I had exactly the same feeling going into my last FET, and notwithstanding my feelings it actually worked after 5 unsuccessful IUIs and 2 unsuccessful IVFs.

oneMorechance  - I just wanted to mention that you should not pay much attention to the grading of embryos.  My 4AAs didn't stick, but one of my 3AAs did.  And I know of girls who had lower quality embryos transferred and had a successful singleton or even twins.  There are also many examples where excellent quality embryos resulted in BFN.

daisy731 - I hope you can get your hands on the proper kind of PIO. I didn't know there were different ones. Not even sure which one I used last time.  So good to know.  Call around different pharmacies, someone must have it. Costco has one as well.  I actually tried to price shop when we were doing IVF.  I was lucky as I was told about a pharmacy not far from my house that carry fertility drugs almost at cost as the owners themselves went through IF, but that pharmacy is in Thornhill, Ontario.  I have to check if they are still in business. But my RE's office also stocks drugs for its patients so even when there is a shortage of something there are always drugs in the clinic.  Two years ago there was a shortage of orgalutran (if I remember correctly), but luckily both my pharmacy and my RE's office had a stock.  I hope I didn't jinx myself by saying that, as I will need PIO as well at the time of my transfer.

Thanks Rosaschka any amount of positive feedback or energy is welcomed and needed in my life right about now. Honestly what you said is what really scares me. Like you said the so called great ones turn out to be not so much, and they keep now trying to tell me how great my blasts looked at freeze. It's starting to make me feel like they are saying whatever sounds good. I know I'm probably trippin, but whatever. Like through everything they just keep acting like everything is so great and obviously it wasn't or I would be pg right now. Anyway I seem to be a lot later than others so I can't wait to see the bfp's start flowing in from everyone!
Nerdygirl-I've been thinking of you today and hoping that everything went according to plan. ..
McBee-I'm surprised you even have time for us with a busy two year old demanding girl time lol! Have fun!

Fx McBee. AFM-started Lupron today. Drew up first injection, then accidentally knocked vial on bathroom floor where it proceeded to shatter. -_- I am beyond pissed. So because today was the holiday, I couldn't call the pharmacy. I will miss a day tomorrow, and hopefully receive it Wednesday. 100 freaking bucks down the drain! Mad again just thinking about it. It never hurts to try...

At my clinic they are a bit more expensive than at the pharmacy that I used, but when I needed meds asap I got them from the REs office as I used to work nearby.

Hi ladies I was reading some of your post and would be interested in joining. I'm not new to the ivf seen but we ate going about a different route this time. We are doing a fresh/frozen first I need my eggs fertilized and then we will freeze and the transfer after my body settles. This is my choices as I have never been pregnant with the 3 fresh before but have been pregnant with the frozen. So on Sunday I started menaopro which is something that we haven't done yet. Has anyone found that this one burns a bit? And your stomach is sore afterwards So on Thursday we will do the ultrasound to see where we are. And then start the next set of needles. After the removal we will do the endo biopsy and then wait for my next cycle to start for the frozen transfer. So I would say end of September beginning if October I WILL be pregnant (positive thinking😜)

Hi everyone,

so, I'm following up about the endometrial biopsy and the theory that it may help implantation.

I've looked online and found very little information but everytime I did find something, it said for up to 12 weeks lasting effect.

I emailed my doctor a few minutes ago and he responded that no one knows for sure how long the benefits last but that he is more than happy to do an endo scratch (thats what he called it) at the clinic, I just need to call and book it.

Now seeing I am due for a transfer next week, its too late for this transfer, but should this transfer fail, I will book it on the next cycle since I cannot do a transfer on that cycle. (one month break between each FET).

Has anyone else asked their doctors and gotten a more precise answer?

Me: 37, TTC since July 2011

Husband: 38- thought it was DNA fragmentation-turns out maybe not

DX: Unexplained, possibly polyp (removed),

Nov 2012: Totally natural IVF cycle, 2 eggs retrieved, one fertilized, day2 transfer of a "perfect" 4 cell embryo, BFN

Jan 23 2013: starting modified natural cycle (150 puregon day 4, 6, 8) day 4 US: 5 follicles on L side, 7 follicles on R side
Feb 4 2013: ER: 9 eggs retrieved. Cyst drained during ER as well.
Feb 5th: 1 egg mature+ICSI, fertilized. 3 immature eggs maturing in lab, 5 immature.
Feb 6th: 1 embryo dividing well, 3 eggs matured and ICSI done, waiting to see if fertilized. 5 discarded. tentative transfer day feb 8th.
Feb 8th: ET, 1xday 4 (cells have started to compact.) 3 leftovers have fertilized.
Feb 11th: call from embryologist: 3 leftovers arrested. nothing to freeze.
Feb 14th: 6dp4dt, HPT-BFN major bummer.
Feb 20th, Beta BFN

April 2013:Fresh Cycle. Antagonist protocol. 150puregon/day+Orgalutran+Ovidrel.

April 8th: 12 eggs collected, 8 mature, 7 fertilized. 7 blasts, 6 hatching, 1 hatched.

April 13th: 1 great looking hatching blast transferred.  6 blasts frozen.

April 22: crying my eyes out, cry.gif feel period coming. BETA on the 24th.

April 24th: NEGATIVE BETA, but got call saying that I can start preparing for FET right away

May 14th: FET 1 hatching blast BETA May 24th.

May 17-18: cramps at 3dpFET, then on and off since

May 18th: hpt BFN

May24th: BETA day: BFN. Told to wait out a cycle before pursuing another FET.

June 2013: Hubs did a second DNA fragmentation test with another urologist for a second opinion.  Test came back at 15% abnormal, so... now within the norm... huh??? So happy but wondering how it went from 59% fragmented down to 15% fragmented.  Morphology still low.

July 15 2013: Hysteroscopy, Endo Biopsy done.  They've removed a polyp as well.  Still waiting for full results... darn summer vacations, making test results delayed... so anxious.

August 28th 2013: Green light to start Estrace today for FET

Sept 4: on duty Dr. (not Dr. Tan) gave me a big NO on a double transfer due to me having blasts and my age URGH!

Sept 11th: Transfer day.  surprise! Dr tells me they're transferring 2 hatching blasts.  lower quality though...

Sept 23: Beta: negative.

WTF appointment Sept 26.

5 3 frozen hatching blasts left.

Immune Testing: positive for high CD56 (and other stuff moderate)

December 21 2013: Cycle starts! Immune protocol: Prednisone, Lovenox, Estrace, PIO, Doxy, Medrol, Calcium

Perfect lining (triple stipe, first time the technician is so happy with it!)

Transfer on Jan 7th, Empty Bladder transfer. (so much easier!)

1 blast didnt make it thru thaw, 2 great ones left, transferred both. so nothing left from our 2nd cycle.

Embryologist particularly thrilled with an almost fully hatched blast.

Jan 20: Beta 208

Viability Scan Feb 3

Feb 3: no gestational sac found. Beta 5.9.

March 2014: IVF#3

7 eggs, 6 mature, 4 blasts.

Immune: prednisone, Lovenox, Intralipids.

transferred 2, 2 frozen.

April 3rd: BFN.

Thats it.  consult at MFC.  BIG polyp found right on implantation site.  Seems to have been there all along and was never properly removed or not completely in the past.

Clinic Switch to MFC- a world of difference.

Aug 21: polyp removal-hysteroscopy- done by a specialist in polyp removal.

Sept 8th: FET cycle starts.

Sept 24: transfer 2 medium quality day 5 embryos (3AA and 2AB)

Oct 3: BETA  (sneaked a FRER on my way home from blood test: very dark BFP) at 9dp5dt: 279

repeat Beta Oct 6: 1276

viability scan: Oct 21st

Had my appointment with my doctor today....2 healthy unaffected embryos!! woot woot!  We did two sets of PGD testing...one was a test built specifically for me and DH based on our DNA for the x-linked disorder.  We also did CGH array testing which tests for any chromosomally abnormalities (ie two many or missing) and identifies things such as downs, trisomy 18 etc.  Basically identifies the embryos which would most likely miscarry, as most miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities.

SO!  Of the 7, 2 were affected with the disorder, 2 were unaffected and 3 they could not get a clear result on.  From the chromsome perspective, of the 7, 5 were abnormal.  And just by the grace of god, the 2 blasts that were unaffected by my genetic disorder also happened to be the 2 that were chromosomally  normal!!  YAH!  (and thank god!!)

Got the go ahead for my FET at the beginning of my next period which should be in 2 weeks.  They can totally work around my trip in October too. My doctor also recommended we only transfer one, so that is the plan.  BFP all systems go!

I was so excited about the 2 normal healthy blasts, that I forgot to ask about endo biopsy..but will call in the next couple of days to ask.

I wanted to apologize to you ladies for being MIA for the last couple weeks. I know it's no excuse but I have been super busy planning my daughters first birthday party this weekend. It has consumed my life lately and I never would have thought how time consuming it really is. Nonetheless it's fun and yes i am totally going overboard. She's worth it though.
It's incredible how many ladies have joined this thread since my last login. Very nice to meet you all!

Sara, I'm so glad you finally got your report!!

A quick update with my FET protocol, I have started Lupron and baby aspirin, and I have continued to go to acupuncture. I was also on bc pills but I take my last one tonight. Not looking forward to possibly having a mega AF this party weekend, but looking forward to counting is as CD1. I am scheduled for my transfer on Sep 27. So that's about it! I hope everyone has had a great Labor Day weekend. :)

Sarah - great news! Congratulations!

Afm, called in my day 1 today - yipee!  Let's get this show on the road.  I'm all over the estrace and patches now... haha, DH is not too happy about that.  Apparently I get 'emotional' hahaha, oh well!

Me: 35 DH: 31

Aug/12 - began testing at MFC
Feb/13 - septum removal surgery

IVF

May/13 - IVF begins....
May 17 - ER 22 eggs, 20 mature, 18 fertilized. On a protocol to minimize ohss, so lots of bed rest and gatorade!
May 22 - transferred 1 blast. No sign of ohss - yay! Now for that 2ww....
May 24 - 4 frozen blasts - yay!
June 3 - BFN

Preparing for FET
Aug 27 - endometrial biopsy
FET #1 - Sept/13 - (estrace and patch) cancelled cycle (did not respond to estrogen, poor lining)
FET #1 - Oct-Nov/13 - (unmedicated FET) cancelled cycle (did not respond at all)
FET #1 - Nov/13 - third time's a charm?? (lupron and estrace) - nope.  Cancelled because AF came mid-cycle

FET #1 - January, 2014 - monitoring to see what's going on and ended up in a natural cycle - discovered I ovulated, so I transferred 1 blast on Jan. 21.

Feb 3 - BFP!!!!!!! Beta@422 (with Hcg support)
