Today I was walking in town with my daughter in her stroller and my belly starting to show and I came across a women about my age who looked at me and my daughter and my belly with such a look of envy and despair. I could not help but think that she probably was in the process of IVF as retrospect, I am sure I also looked at people that way when I struggled with the fear of never becoming a mother. I almost wanted to stop her and tell her how long and complicated it has been for us and so that there is always hope.

Sorry I that's not very funny...

Although, perhaps I am just so obsessed au traumatized by my IF experience that maybe she was not even looking at me and I made up this whole thing in my imagination...!

So I guess... you know you're infertile when you see infertile everywhere you go!

You do the deed on just the right day and then purposely try to mix up the day when your period is due -- just to get a little taste of what it feels like to be late and potentially prego naturally.  When AF shows up, you're disappointed, but more relieved there was no money on the line.

You see license plates with combos like FSH, BFP, IUI and wonder why they're broadcasting their IF protocols...till you realize those are just combinations they randomly recieved when they ordered plates.

You know you're infertile when... after having a surgery that made your abdomen distended, you look at the mirror smiling and excitedly tell your confused husband "Babe, this is what I'll look like when I get pregnant!" as you stroke your tummy with love.

You might be infertile when...

your husband jokes about you being a smurf during cycling "because you're blue down there!" (thanks to Crinone and estrace combo)

on cd30, upon getting the results of your negative beta, you sarcastically exclaim-- Great! Now I can get rid of the "foreign stuff" in there ASAP.

on cd2,you're instructed to stick a little blue pill up (estrace) in your v-j-j  and your reaction is "oh, okay, now we'll mix red and blue so that'll make purple?"

on beta day, you tell the lab technician that you're there for a 2-year standing order and she asks "for beta Hcg?" then you smile and say "yes, please and I hope to see you in 2 days not 1 month"
