I am starting a forum for us moms-to-be with twins or Multiples due in Sept/Oct of this year! Looking for support and advice!

Welcome, BTR! Glad to have some company!

I am expecting twins, although my due date is Oct. 18th, my doctors say I will deliver before then. I guess I will let my babies determine that date!

I'm due October 10th, but again... with twins - WHO KNOWS!!!!

 

We're both in the October 2013 due date buddies, btw.

I really want to find out but my husband wants the surprise. We have a lot of friends that are pregnant and any of them are waiting to find out until the baby is born, but my feeling is - this is TWINS!!!! I need to know!

I totally agree with you! It is so much easier for everyone to buy for the babies. I know, because I own my own maternity/baby superstore and customers always hate to buy only neural outfits and gifts!

Hi Ladies,  I'd like to join in here as well!  I'm also in the Oct. Due Date Buddies thread.  Due date of Oct 9th, but probably closer to the middle of Sept.

 

P.S. I always wanted to have the surprise, and not find out - but as soon as I found out there were going to be 2 of them, I changed my mind, and can't wait to find out if they are girls or boys, or one of each!!!

Are you girls having pains in your lower abdomen? It's not cramping by any means but it's a dull ache when I'm sitting but mostly walking around. I feel like I'm having symptoms for later on in the pregnancy now!

Welcome, Nic and Hubby! With twins, it just makes more sense to know, because you are buying for

two. Myself, I could not wait that long to finish their nursery and to prepare for their arrival. Especially

when financially it would not make sense to wait until the babies arrive to purchase everything, that

would be direct sucide!!

 

BTR, I have had little aches and twitches since about the second week. When I walk around, I feel

a slight pulling effect, I overlooked this as my expansion of my abdomial area.

BTR - I have some pains from time to time.  Nothing too major, just dull aches or sharp, quick pains.  Mostly around my groin area.  My clinic just said that it's me stretching out!  With 2 of them in there, I think it's bound to happen sooner than later! 

 

I'm not going to be able to do my nursery anytime soon - my husband and I are relocating this summer for his job.  We are currently on the East Coast, but we're headed to Ont. in either June or July.  (We get the official date in April sometime!)  We will be really close to my whole family, so hopefully we'll have lots of extra hands to help bring our new home together quickly!!

 

I'm also worried about switching OB's part way through this pregnancy.  Ugh...so many things to worry and think about!  Especially on the snowed in days like today!!!!

Wow, Nic and Hubby! You guys will be quite busy this summer, hope everything goes smoothly and your family helps will be greatly appreciated! It is always exciting on decorating a new home and and a babies nursery! Great wishes to you and your family!

Switching OB's is always a great concern, I had to do it twice already and it was upsetting at the least! Good luck!

Nic - wow this is going to be a big year for you, but it will be so nice to be close to family! I can't imagine going through this whole journey without family.

 

I'm so glad I'm not alone with these pains. I am already waddling a little bit, to avoid the pain. I am going to be one big pregnant lady!!!!

 

What changes have you ladies noticed on your body so far? My boobs grew about a size, but nothing more... and my nipples haven't darkened yet. Is that for SURE going to happen? I am VERY white skinned... so my nipples are extremely light. I cannot imagine them being dark. I also havent noticed any veins in my stomach yet...

For me, My boobs are not any bigger yet, just much heavier (I'm already well endowed in this area).  My nipples are a little darker, and I have noticed dark blue veins running all over my boobs, but not stomach.  I have been getting really bad headaches for the last week or so, and the fatigue seems to be returning - I love my afternoon naps!!  Nosebleeds are also a nightmare, and have been since the day I got the bfp on the pee stick!

 

I've never had a pregnancy go this far before, never mind with twins, so I'm trying not to focus too much on the physical changes - and just enjoy these precious days.  (But I do hope that all is normal and well)

 

I'm also a little nervous because today is my last day of meds.  No more ASA81, estrace, or progesterone!!!  Are you ladies stiil on meds?

BTR, my boobs have definitely gotten bigger and are very
sore. Although, my nipples have not gotten any darker. The veins in my breasts have been blue and purplish in color. Have not seen any veins on my stomach though.

Nic and Hubby, I have noticed some blood when blowing my nose, this has continued for weeks now. I have been told it is completely normal.

This pregnancy is as far as I have gotten also and with twins. I am taking day by day, and I am so much more relaxed with this pregnancy. Which I feel has helped!

I have been told by my RE to stop my estrace and progesterone tomorrow at 10 weeks. I am very nervous about stopping!!!! What do you ladies think about stopping the meds?

I was only on progesterone up until 8 weeks. I was super nervous to stop but was also so excited to be off of it since I was having adverse reactions. The reason you're able to stop is likely because your body is producing enough of those hormones on its own and you don't need the supplements anymore. Think of it as a positive thing in your pregnancy.

The reason I ask about te body changes is because I am welcoming them! I want to see all of the changes to me reminded that I'm having a healthy and normal pregnancy. While being constipated is awful, I'm reminded how wonderful it is that I'm making enough progesterone on my own to constipated me bc I have two beautiful babies growing. Mondays ultrasound cannot come soon enough! I need to see these babies!

BTR, I have to call my OB, because I am under their care now, but my RE said that to continue after the 10 weeks would be overkill. My OB is the one who wants to continue to be safe then sorry, because of my miscarriage last year. I am wondering when the placenta totally takes over???

I wish I could have an ultrasound every week to see how the babies are doing. That would be a great stress reliever!!!!!

MyBaby2013 - You own your own maternity baby store??? That  must be coming in handy right about now!  Do you have a website or anything that we can order from??

 

BTR - Hope your feeling well!!   I found it too much to try to keep up with the other Due date thread.

 

Nic_and_hubby - Nice to hear that all is going well with you too!  You are going to have a busy summer, just remember to take it as easy as you can.. On a good note, maybe it'll make the time go by faster for you!
 

I am also getting the really bad headaches.  Someone said it was because I'm not drinking enough water, but I feel like I am a water fountain lately.   Currently 10w5d, and my Next Ultrasound isn't until 12w4d, so I am nervous and anxious at the same time.   We will definately be finding out the genders.  I'm a planner, and although no one else wants to know (so we'll have to keep it to ourselves)... I have to know to plan.  We were able to find out last year at 15w... So we're hoping for the same this time!

I have been told that the headaches are completely normal and all part of the hormone changes. It's not exactly double the hormones for a twins pregnancy but there are higher levels of hormones which make any symptoms you would normally experience a little bit worse.

My all day sickness is getting much better. Last night I felt awful but woke up this morning feeling great! 11w2d today.

Mybaby - I hear you on the weekly ultrasounds. If only they'd allow that!

ErinM, I also had the headaches and was told to drink more water!!! I am not a water drinker, so it has

been hard to do!! Other then your headaches, how are you feeling?

 

BTR, glad to hear that your all day sickness is starting to subside alittle. Exciting to be reaching the end

of your first trimester!!!

 

AFM, still experiencing all day sickness, which has not let up. The past couple of days, been experiencing

a bad taste in my mouth, that has me eating and drinking more to get rid of it, (nasty). I am officially 10 weeks

exactly today, YAY!

ErinM - so glad you joined us over here!!  I've been trying to drink more water for the headaches too, but it doesn't work.  I don't have another appointement until April 4th for my NT scan - I'll be exactly 13 weeks.  Then I meet with my OB (who was also my RE, just in a different office now) on April 9th.   Up until this point I"ve been 'lucky' and have pretty much had an ultrasound every week up until 10 weeks.  Not sure how I'm going to handle having to wait another 2 weeks to see them again.  I'm so in love already!!!

 

We are planning on telling extended family/friends over Easter - do you ladies think that I should wait until after my NT scan though?!  I'm so excited to share our news.  It's been a long 5 years in the making, but am I better to wait?  What are your plans for sharing the news??!!

I have told our family already, they were aware of my IVF cycles so they have been here from the start. Sharing with everyone else, I have been holding back.

Today I am 10 weeks and 2 days, yay! Still very much sick with all day morning sickness.

How is everyone feeling at their stage of pregnancy?

Tomorrow is my ultrasound. Ill be 11w4d. I'm so anxious for this appointment and I don't even know why. Partly because I want confirmation that everything with both babies is still good and partially because I'm scared I won't get the results right away.

Why does pregnancy have to come along with so much anxiety? It took enough to get pregnant and now that I am the anxiety hasn't stopped.

BTR, congratulations on your 11weeks 4days! I know what you mean, I am anxiously waiting for my next appointment to see hiw my babies are doing! I wish I could see them every week or at least every two weeks.

I was hoping too that after the first trimester, I could relax but I think that we will be worrying about something or another the whole pregnancy.
