Hey everyone...Just got my blood test results and the news are not good....My AMH was 0.04 (!!!) but FSH 5,5 and LH 3.7.E2 is 78. My age is 34

Doc said I should not worry since AMH is not a very reliable test. He also said I should do the test in some lab that is specializing in this test. He said he is not at all worried, since 0.04 is such an extremely low number that there is no way it is right (taking in consideration my age, my FSH, LH and E2)

My periods are really regular (25-26 days) , but very light (from 20yrs old till now)

He asked me to do the test once more.

Any opinions...? I was shocked to hear 0.04 AMH....

(pls excuse  my language mistakes, I am from Greece)

Thank you all in advance

I think you are fine since you are still young. Even if you do not have alot of eggs you just need one. Have you considered natural ivf? We did and had success!

thanks for the reply and congrats for you success!! natural cycles are great!

I haven't even thought of IVF cause no doc will treat me with this fsh and lh and my age. They all say (including my family) that I am losing my mind, I am overreacting and beeing impatient. Doctors keep telling me that this is not a reliable test.....

So with this number I will be in menopause like in a few months? People in Greece do not believe in this test, it is not well known so nobody can answer my questions and everyone keeps telling me I shouldn't have done the test in the first place..

Hi Margie,

I just wanted to comment since I am in a similar situation as you. I am 30 years old. We had tried to conceive just over a year when we sought out help from an infertility clinic. When I initially did my fertility screening, my AMH came back as 0.35, though my FSH fell in the "normal" range (7.8), LH = 4.5 (normal), and E2 = 89 (normal). The only notable thing was that my cycles were shorter than normal (~24 days). We've since done 4 IUIs with no success.

In most cases a low AMH corresponds to a higher FSH, which indicates DOR, but in our cases, it's not clear what those results actually mean.  My doctor (here in Canada) has also said that because the AMH test is fairly new it's uncertain how reliable it is compared to FSH and AFC counts, but had the test not been done, we would have fallen into the "unexplained" category. I'm currently waiting on a repeat AMH test to be sure, but given our lack of success, I'm guessing my egg reserve might be contributing in some way.

All I can say is to you is what I've said to myself: try to stay positive, but be objective. We're young so statistically we still have good odds for getting pregnant since our egg reserve does not necessarily reflect quality, only quantity. We likely won't go into menopause immediately, but we definitely will start earlier than most, probably in our late 30's earlly 40's. That's what happened to my mom. All of this just likely means that it's going to be harder for us that the average girl, as most people on this board can relate to. You're amongst friends here, so feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like!

Wishing you all the best!
