Hi ladies,
I am looking for some support, hopefully someone has some sucessfull stories too. I had my first u/s yesterday, the 17th of Aug. Doc told us we were 6w1d and i thought I was further along too. He found that my little bean's had a slow heart rate and that it also had an enlarged yolk sac measuring in at 6.18mm. Fetus (CRL) meaused at 5.01mm and gestational sac was 16.49mm. I am so anxious, they have told me to come back next friday the 24th.. I have had no pain or spotting. Can anyone tell me, can my baby survive this? I need answers so badly.

Me: 36, DH 37..ttc: 10 years
had tubes repaired due to burst appendix, then had hydrosalpinx due to toxic liquid. Doc said it may improve chances.
ivf: 1
9 eggs retrieved
5 fertilised
transferred one day 3 embryo
froze two blasts
sadly bfn
ivf 2
4 eggs retreived (11-11-11)
3 fetilised (12-11-11)
transferred two 3 day embryos (14-11-11)
None to freeze, quality not good enough
and yet another bfn
(27-11-11) (when is this going to end)
Ivf 3
9 egg retrieved (11-7-12)
7 fertilised (12-7-12)
7 still hanging in there but, 4 are top quality (13-7-2012)
4 made it to blastocyst stage, 2 arrested and one kinda hanging in (14-7-12)
transferred 2 top quality (16-7-12), the clinic also told us today we have two blasts left, we are waiting to hear if they are suitable for freezing
day 6 since ER, other two are not suitable for freezing (17-7-12)
Got a faint line today
(25-7-12), ttc for 10 yrs. So excited !!!! pls get stronger hpt line...sadly ended in a MC, my little 
, devastated !!, life can be so cruel...(18-08-12)

I have no experience with this, hopefully someone will respond that does. But sorry you are going through this, after to so long, to think your long yearned for BFP is in jeopardy must be beyond stressful and scary. Try to keep hope, as you never know. Sometimes repeat u/s surprise us with a wonderful news. I am wishing that for you.

Dx: Recurrent Miscarriages and Male Factor
Feb 2009: BFP - #1 miscarriage at ~ 6 weeks
May 2010: BFP - #2 miscarriage at ~ 6 weeks
October 2010: BFP - # 3 miscarriage at ~ 6 weeks
November to March: Clomid for 3 cycles - BFN
Work up for Recurrent Losses - All normals for me
April 2011: BFP - #4 Miscarriage at ~ 6 weeks
Diagnosed with Male Factor - Joined wonderful clinic in BC
May 2011 - Started IVF, delayed due to flare (lupron)
August 2011 - IVF #1 - 2 perfect embryos transfered (4 frosties) - BFN
October 2011 - Start FET, delayed by a month because of flare (lupron)
Jan 2012 - FET #1 - 2 perfect embryos - BFN
Feb 2012 - FET #2 - 1 perfect embyos, 1 50% expanded - BBFFN
Had 10 (or maybe more) embryos try to grow and no such luck yet??
Finished homestudy, waiting to be on the active list for private adoption is Alberta and USA.
May 2012: IVF #2 - 2 (3AA and 2AA) blasts transferred (3 frozen) - the wait begins.......
Mild OHSS symptoms (re)start on 6dp5dt
8dp5dt Hpt = BFP!!!!!!
10dp5dt - Beta #1 - 505
12dp5dt - Beta #2 - 1485 (doubling, yipee!)
Come on babies, please grow so we can meet you!
6w4d u/s - shows a twin pregnancy, but just one detectable heartbeat @113pbm.
7w4d u/s - 2 babies on board, measuring right on track, heartbeats @ 155 and 163.
12w3d - NT scan - all parts accounted for, measuring 12w3d and 12w2d, HB 149 and 147. Waving and kicking around.
21w3d - Anatomy scan #1 - both babies growing well and measuring 3-5 days ahead. 1lb1oz and 15 oz. Babes too busy to get all images.
22w2d - Anatomy scan #2 - babies doing great, still really active but all systems on mom and babies are looking good. 1lb2oz and 1lb1oz!!
28w4d - U/S - babies looking good, HB 150 and 154, measuring 28w6d and 2 lbs 12 oz.
32w1d - U/S - babies doing so great!! Measuring 4lb2oz and 4lb4oz, getting chubby cheaks. All systems are good to go, these babies look like they will be in momma for a while. We are so incredibly, incerdbly blessed and so in love.
34w2d - U/S - babies doing great, both very big at 4lb15oz and 5lb1oz. All measurements great.
35w6d - Admitted to hospital with high blood pressure. NST great!! 2 cm dilated
36w1d - U/S - babies are doing good, saw one stick out its tongue. Baby A measuring 5 lbs 3 oz and baby B measuring 5 lbs 14 oz.
36w4d - Induction for high blood pressure. 3 cm dilated, MD broke water, 2 hours of hard labour with an epidural.
Babies make it safe and sound, thank you universe and everyone.
Baby A - Cierra was born at 5lbs 11 oz, and 16 minutes later Baby B, Emmett was born at 5 lb 1 oz.
Momma got to take them back to her room with her. We are so in love it hurts!
Babies came home < 48 hours after delivery, we are so incredible blessed and grateful.

I'm so sorry you have to endure all this worry. It's so hard to finally get your BFP and then have to worry that it might not last. I too had an enlarged yolk sac on my first u/s. My OB said that an enlarged yolk sac can be a soft marker for miscarriage, but many pregnancies continue on to be healthy pregnancies. I'm almost 15 weeks, so the doc was right that an enlarged yolk sac may not always a bad sign. Baby did however have a heartbeat that was in the normal range. I really hope that you can get through this coming week without too much worry and that you get wonderful news on your repeat u/s.

thank's for your reply girls, pls god my baby's heart rate speeds up. I heard that an enlarged yolk sac can be ok, if baby;s heart rate is good, just have to wait and see. congrats on ur pg lola_v, and after such a tough time also, well deserved hun.., you too lynblair, its so tough, but you got there in the end..... xx

I have no experience with slow heartbeats, but I know some clinics(mine included) will only do u/s at 8 weeks.. Wishing you all the best!

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so cruel to finally fall pregnant and then for it to be taken away by m/c.
