I definitely get dizzy spells too! As for the first ultrasound, it is done at the clinic. How are getting referred to an ob so fast? From my understanding, clinic gets the results and schedules the first u.s. and then tell u to call ur gp t o get a referral. My gp will be doing my first prenatal but she will probably refer me right away due to high bp... I hear it takes up to 3 months to get in, but who knows.

When is your official test for the clinic? Mine is this Saturday. I picked up my pee cup already and will just drop it off at a lab that morning.

yes I am still taking aspirin, it says until pregnancy test but it is not harmful so I will take it until they tell me to stop.

Do u know if we call the lab the nExt day for the results then call it into the clinic and wait for a call back?? That is definitely the worst part of the clinic!!

I'M not sure about the stupid pee test. I am doing mine out of town and I imagine they will fax the results. I guess they will call me when they get them? I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do so I made an appt with my GP so I could get my refferal in ASAP. Oh well.
Wish we could have a beta actually. The pee test is pointless!

...Posted Image to laura02 and thedessmans, good to have you ladies.

It looks like I'm the only one suffering from the lower back ache (might be the age thoughPosted Image), do get thirsty especially at night and waking up once to pee. Have had a nose bleed since ET but have stopped in the last 3 days, only experienced dizziness while I was on the 2WW every time I took Meticorten but now gone, short of breathness and a pounding heartbeat that lasts for about 30 secs or less, cramping that is not bad but can feel it. Oh yes I do get the pain/cramp when I have quickly turned when sleeping and thedessmans is right, we just need to be more careful.

Excited, I was bloated too in the past few days and my abdomen feeling very heavy but feeling much better this morning. Also, I have noticed that after eating a banana I get a very sharp heartburn that lasts for about 30 minutes, anyone experiencing heartburn?

Otherwise ladies, I'm so looking forward to the u/s, 4 days to go and I'll know about my Posted Image, yay so exciting andPosted Image that all is in order.

PS. Been feeling so horny too and since well I've done IVF, no BD is allowed until I'm 12 weeks - just wonder if I'll still be sanePosted Image by then and not to mention DH, he's been complaining like crazyPosted Image.

About the pee test, I'm pretty sure the paperwork from the clinic says that I need to call into the clinic to let them know the result of the test - although I'm sure a copy will be sent to them as well. Who knows, I'll find out soon, tomorrow is official test day! (again!)

The only people I've known to have betas done are those with prior miscarriage or complications, so honestly I'm happy to stick with the urine test.... someone on another board said that either way if something was wrong there's nothing they could do about it, so why obssess about the numbers, kinda makes sense to me.

I have a bit of low back pain, but that's normal for me, so I can't say if it's pregnancy related or not. I too get heart palps every now and then. weird. It just pulses, and then it's gone quickly. Also glad it's not just me, guess these are normal! No heartburn (yet) but one of my girlfriend had it VERY bad through most of her pregnancy, until she realized that eating smaller meals more often really helped. Maybe try snacking more often, if you don't already do that?

I don't know about sex either. I was told not until the pregnancy test, so we will wait to see what the clinic says once we talk to them. My DH and I both want to, although after talking about it, I think DH is a bit freaked out now. He doesn't want to hurt me or the baby. Overall, he's REALLY worrying, which isn't really like him.... but he's pretty stressed out and thinking about everything that could go wrong, and he's worried that I don't have just one doctor telling me what to take and not take. I know he wants what is best - but I feel pretty calm about it. I guess it's better to let him do the worrying, so I don't have to!

Excited - I did read that cramping after sex/orgasm is normal though.... Since you're in Calgary, have you registered for any classes yet through AB Health Services? My gf is pregnant and told me about some early pregnancy classes that were really good. I'm taking the "Nutrition For Your Health Pregnancy" and "Early Pregnancy" to start with . There are definitely more that I want to take as well. If you want to check it out, the website is http://www.birthandbabies.com/

Hello ladies,

I should be joining you. I had an early beta on Wed - it was 238 and now got my second beta 445. Sorry, but pee test is not enough. I've had 2 previous m/c what would have been missed if I had relied on just HPT. Especially the second one, it was ectopic. If you can get a blood test from your family doctor and repeat two days later. This is a very good indication on how things are progressing and it gives indication on if multiples too. This will be my second baby via IVF. Nice to meet all you ladies!!

I don't think I will take any preg classes. Maybe yoga. ;)
I will ask my GP for betas. I don't know how much she knows about baby stuff but hopefully I won't have to wait for long to get in to a OB. GP appointment is Tuesday so I will ask then

Sandibeach, welcome and congratulations on your BFP! I agree with you about having quantitative betas done. They do give a very good indication as to how a pregnancy is doing.

Mine were" 17dpo 507, 18dpo 796, 22dpo 3366

As for sex, it's generally considered safe during pregnancy, unless you have any placenta issues or blood clots (or other complications). I think that given all you've gone through to get to this point, it would be wise to abstain until at least the first u/s so that you can be sure that everything is ok. I also know from past experiences that I have a very friable cervix that bleeds during early pregnancy if it is irritated. So I am going to abstain until we can find the hb on a doppler. This is hard given the fact that we were having sex multiple times per day up until my BFP!

Wow good for you girl? Multiple times a day? Whoa. I am old and married I guess :)

So anyone else notice cramping and symptoms are strongest when lying in bed in the am? I find it so weird that it pulls on my uterus when I change positions. I think there must be two in there!!!

Congrats and welcome Sandi!!

Laura that's so awesome that this happened naturally for you this time!! AMazing surprise!!!

Excited - I agree they are stronger when lying down too - but I can just feel "something" most of the time now. When is your official test? Did you end up picking up the digital afterall? Good luck with your appointment this week, I hope you get into the OB quick! Do you know which hospital you want to deliver at?

I dropped off my urine sample this morning for the official test, as well as did my last hpt -why not, I had it and was always planning on doing it today... so I got to see the PREGNANT 2-3 weeks one more time!! :) Such an awesome feeling!!

Hey girls, anyone reading any good preg books? The girlfriends guide to preg was funny but not overly informative. I also found it to be pro medical model which made me feel weird sometimes. Ie- c-sections no big deal, don't bother with a birth plan, who cares if u nurse. It was good mostly tho
I want a book that talks about development tho, as this one doesn't. Thoughts?

Excited - I get the same crampings in bed when I turn over suddenly or if I'm sitting long and I get up....so I'm careful not to strain anything... i think I had those during my first pregnancy too. As for books - I read the what to expect, it was good, but all over hte place...if you want development, which was also my favourite book. It is called a weekly guide to pregnancy or something of the sort... I don't have it anymore...but look for a day by day guide or weekly guide - found mine at Chapters.

As for nookie - both my RE's who got me pregnant recommend to wait till after the first trimester, incl. orgasm...they said why take a chance and risk it... Laura - since you did get pregnant naturally, I probably wouldn't worry as much, but us IVF ladies - I think it's always more risky... I guess it is what you are comfortable with.

holy smokes, I'm not having sex forever!! LOL That kinda sucks, but you're right, I won't take any chances. I know DH is a little freaked out about it too so I suppose that's ok..... I'm anxious to talk to the doctor about it anyway, and exercising Are any of you doing any activity?

That's awesome excited! I just got the digital because I wanted so badly to see the words "pregnant"!! :) No nausea for me, at least for now.

Ok, I just pulled out the book that my friend lent me, her favorite was "The Pregnancy Bible (Your Complete Gide to Pregnancy and Early Parenthood)" by Stone & Eddleman. Now keep in mind that I started to read this when I was still TTC naturally....(and didn't make it very far into it!) but it looks awesome and seems to cover EVERYTHING! The first chapter even includes a week by week chart of what you can expect and what is happening to your body. I'm excited to start this book over now!! :) Check it out, I hope you like it!

Good evening ladies,

I'm certainly not taking any chances with sex. Even though I had a natural BFP, I certainly don't think I could easily achieve that again should this pregnancy fail. DH has 0% morh and we just tested him 2 months ago.

Looking forward to us all going for our first ultrasounds! Mine will be sometime next week.

...greetings ladies and welcome to sandibeachPosted Image

Went in for intralipid this morning and unfortunately the sister could not find any veins and did not want to prick anymore coz my arm was very swollen from the second prick. Booked in to do it on Wednesday after the u/s, also, they have added Estrofem to the meds taken currently, anyone taking it - just scary that the leaflet says do not taken if pregnant and just follwing the instruction.

@Excited, yep sneezing is a nightmare and now very careful when it happensPosted Image .

@colorfulpoet, thank you and trusting that with time it will go away.

AFM, can't wait for the u/s, two more sleeps and I'll know how far my beanie is, otherwise ladies, keep well and look after yourselves.

PS. Anyone keeping a pregnancy diary, not exactly sure which one to buy, I'd love to keep one, any advise?

Welcome Jenabee!! Congratulations. I was with Hannam Fertility, but did my ER and ET and Create. It was a nice clinic...really liked the nurses and u/s techs in the IVF lab - they are hilarious! Good luck on the U/S...can't wait for me.

Going to do the chinese calendar now... but it depends which one you find... sometimes the results are not the same. Which one did you use.
