Hello,
Does anyone know how long Progestrone in Oil shelf life is once opened. I did an IVF cycle back in the winter and I have some left. It expires in 2014. I think it's ok to use, but I'm not sure. The reason is, my clinic didn't give me enough to get me to beta. So I'm hoping to use this - I can get more, but tomorrow is a holiday and I go in Friday for my beta...just trying to save myself the hassel. I feel confident its ok and based on my internet research, it seems ok. Wondering if anyone knows for sure!!

I think it is only good for a few weeks after it is opened, but don't quote me.
Your clinic should have an after-hours line that you can call and arrange to have a prescription phoned into a pharmacy for you.

For my second IVF in March/April the nurse at my clinic asked me if I have some PIO left. I told her - no, my previous cycle was back in August and she said, doesn't matter - it would still have been good. If you can't find another bottle, I think you will be fine with this one. Good luck, Sandi!

Is it a new vial or has it been opened? There should be 2 dates... the 2014 exp date would be for the unopened vial. Somewhere on the box, it should say something like "once opened, must use within 30 days". I don't know the exact timeframe for PIO as I've never used it myself, but you could call your pharmacy to find out for sure.

8/2011 - Changed from IVF to IUI due to no mature eggs BFN
11/2011 - 1st IVF which was BFP
12/2011 - Terminate pregnancy due to being tubal
6/2012 - Cancelled IVF due to natural pregnancy
