I have to admit I have cheated on my GF diet when it comes to pasta because well brown rice pasta is just a mushy mess and not very appealing.

Then I tried Tinkyada brown rice pasta and was pleased that it has pretty much the same taste, texture as regular pasta (not a mushy mess)! The added bonus (IMO) is that it takes on average 15-16 mins to cook so my DH can boil the pasta to oblivion and it will still be edible! woohoo!

lol i just re-read my post and i sound like a shamwow infomercial - it is good though!

I know that well.ca sells this product - I wish the big grocery chains would sell it instead of their mediocre store brand gf pasta! OK end rant.

I agree. I love Tinkyada! It's the only brand I buy.

In Western Canada, Save-On Foods sells it. I agree, it's a great alternative.

FET with direct donor embryos in Nov 2010 resulted in a BFP!
Jan 2011- both empty sacs and m/c has begun.
June 2011- Second donor embryo cycle (anonymous donor). BFN.
Oct 2011- Third donor embryo cycle (anonymous donor). BFN.
Nov 2011- Pursuing private adoption through Christian Adoption Services.
May 2012- Officially on the waiting list for CAS.

I find all GF pasta is pretty good, you just have to undercook it a bit to make have the same consistency.

I find the taste pretty bland with rice pasta, especially if it's macaroni or something thicker. Right now my favorite is probably Rizopia spaghetti, tastes pretty normal. I buy Tinyada pasta too, cooks pretty nice.

I have not tried that one, but I buy Leeper's corn pasta. It is yummy and I am not a big pasta fan the begin with. We are in the transition toward GF diet as a family and this corn pasta is a huge hit. DS actually seems to love pasta more than ever before. I bought it Save on Foods, and they have spaghetti, rotellini and small elbow shapes. It looks very very yellow in color and it tastes good.

right now me : 37 Dh:40

TTC #1: natural TTC 1.5 yrs
Dh: 35, Severe Male factor infertility, morphology is 1-2%
Me: 32 , tubes open, no endo, regular ovulation, all hormones are good, 3rd day FSH 5.3 , antral follicle count is 12, only problem is my weight BMI: 30

IVF/ ICSI #1: 2008 February -McGill, Montreal
Long protocol: BCP for 1 month, burselin from CD21, 300 Gonal F and 150 Luveris for 10 days
ER: 11 egg , 6 mature , 5 fertilized, 3rd day transfer:a 7 cell & an 8 cell embyos, no frosties.

The best GF pasta, hands down, is Le Veneziane (corn pasta from Italy). I have Celiac Disease (diagnosed 16 years ago) and have tried pretty much everything, and this one has by far the best texture. Tinkyada is the best of the rice pasta, but it pales in comparison to Le Veneziane. You can get this pasta at Longo's (in the east); not sure about out west. It's quite inexpensive. Jovial is supposed to be good, too (and is about the only one I haven't tried), but since it's a rice pasta, I doubt that it's as good as Le Veneziane.
