Hi
I am newly pregnant and am feeling a little off kilter. I am 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and today I did a lot of housecleaning: cleaned bathroom, vacuum all over, took out recycling and made a big batch of spaghetti and meatballs. So my back and feet were aching, and I sat down. Also i didn't eat lunch except a banana and milk and wasn't keeping myself as hydrated as I normally do (i usually end up drinking 1.5 to 2 gallons per day).
I had dinner and I am still feeling quite dizzy. Is this normal or is this due to all the stuff I did today and not eating a proper lunch?
Just wondering thanks ladies

I would check your blood pressure, it might be low. For sure, dehydration + lots of work + not eating properly will contribute to it.

In early pregnancy, I actually had dizzy spells that lead to vision issues for a second or two. I am sure its normal.
But, a word of advice...take it easy while pregnant....if anything was to go wrong you don't want to look back and say "maybe I should have never been on my hands and needs scrubbing the floor" or anything else you can fit in that spot. I know with me, there is a long list of things I think maybe contributed to things happening the way they did...so just be wise with what you do and if something doesn't need to be done, don't do it. Pregnancies...especially IVF Pregnancies should always be taken very seriously. That's just my two cents.

Ohhh....and what ever you do...eat for baby, that means balanced meals and snacks....that may help the dizziness.

Yes, I believe it can be a symptom if you're not giving yourself enough fuel. While pregnant we burn something like an extra 300 calories a day (you may want to check that stat, but it's up there) Think about it, you likely wouldn't have done too hot without eating much if you weren't pregnant. Then add pregnancy on top of it with the additional calories needed and tadum - dizzy.

Balanced meals, moderate activity. Take it easy. As much as we'd like to think that once we're pregnant we're "normal" and can do all the things normal pregnant people do, I'd be cautious. You invested a lot of time and money into that little bean. Take care of yourself.

Also, I had a friend who passes out frequently when pregnant. She had to eat every 2 hrs because she just burned through her energy so fast.

Good Luck.

Thanks
This happened to me when I had my second beta done (4w2d i think)- it was mostly light headedness and I ate sugar cuz I thought maybe I had low blood sure (which I did yesterday- a big plate of pasta and spaghetti) but it didn't help at all. I called PCRM for my first bout of dizzy spells and they said food will not help- it's just your body adjusting to hormones. I believe I did have low blood pressure b/c pregnancy is increasing my blood which results in low blood pressure. As I already have low blood pressure (low on the normal range), I was just nervous how low it went.
Today is 5w6d and I feel much better after I slept (although I had a hard time sleeping as I tilted my head and closed my eyes I felt I just got off a spinning roller coaster). I'm just worried that this might happen while I'm driving or at work.
