I am going to the Burlington office but find most procedures need to be done in Mississauga. I am going through my first IVF cycle and yesterday was my retrieval. I expect ET on February 29th.

I am hoping to find and chat with those currently going through treatments at any New Life Fertility offices.

I have been going there since February 2010 but DH and I actually started TTC a year later. I started out with Dr. Daya then he moved to the new location in Richmond Hill and Dr. Soliman took over in Burlington. So far I have found him to be very respectful of our wishes (for example: New Life now only does FET but we wanted Fresh so he will be doing fresh (hopefully) in 3 days). I also find some nurses really are not capable and others are absolutely great

Did you have your three children through IVF with New Life??? Also, what does the "Adjusted Age" mean on your ticker???

Hi again! I did have all three of my babies because of New Life. Our first son was conceived via a fresh cycle and our twins were from a FET. I agree, I found the old nurses were awesome at the Mississauga clinic (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Nicole) but at the end when we were finishing up our FET some of the nurses I could take or leave! As for Dr. Daya I really would never recommend him to anyone. (We had our issues) but that being said he did have a really great "bedside" manner. Do you mean that they only do FETs in Burlington or only do FET at all now?

Adjusted age means the age they should technically be if they were born on their due date and not born prematurely. My twins were about 7 weeks early.

Opps, sorry, I forgot to check back on this thread.... New Life only does FET's period. I was able to get a fresh transfer though (in all reality, we should be able to have the option since we pay quite a bit of money for this) but I had to fight for it, lol and request it at every appointment.

They are doing a study currently to see if FET has better success rates then fresh, which is fine and good but I really didn't want to give up my chance for a fresh (I mean, I can always do FET).

Wow, like all the clinics or just Burlington???? I can't understand why they would do that! I would be pissed that they were making me be part of their study when it is my money!!

Like all of the offices..... they haven't really told people they are doing a study (except for me when I demanded a fresh if everything looked good), they just tell them they will be doing FET. I think it's kind of sneaky... But anyhoo, I am 2dp5dt and only 5 more days to test!!! Any symptoms of implantation I should be looking for????

Wow, that is so unethical! I would be really pissed! I am surprised that Dr. Soliman would do that. You would think it would jeopardize his business! I am surprised that they are doing a beta so early! Did you have a trigger shot before ER? I always had some bleeding before a BFP that was my only signs from what I can remember. Good luck!!!!

I did a trigger on Feb 22nd. Lol, funny story, the first time New Life had given me a trigger, they neglected to tell me that it was HCG (and I was very naive since this was my first cycle since TTC with help) and I did an HPT on 5dpo and it was positive (of course). I was in such shock that I did some research because I just couldn't believe I was finally preggers. Well, that's when I found out about the trigger effect, lol. Turned out I was actually pregnant though, just not on 5dpo, I found out at 12dpo. Moral of my story..... I always POAS to see the HCG leave and its usually gone by 8dpo. I actually POAS this morning and it was negative so trigger is all gone

I did notice that everyone else seems to still have to wait 2 weeks after transfer for a beta, thank goodness I don't. I think I will trust the result of the beta then since if it was a natural cycle, I would be 13DPO (in my case, retrieval ) and since I will know the trigger is out of my system.

When I went in for my beta with my son I had done a test the night before and it was positive and I told one of the nurses and she said "ya, well don't count on it, that is why we tell people not to do HPTs" I was devastated! When Nicole called me to tell me I was preggers (positive beta) I told her and she was so upset that the other nurse said that. I had to wait 2 weeks with my fresh cycle but not as long with my FET. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!!! Good luck! Hoping for big numbers for you on the 7th!

I have read a lot about Nicole on here and I don't think I have met her yet (probably because I usually go to Burlington) but she was the one to call and give me the date and time for my transfer.... I felt like saying "oh, so your the infamous Nicole" lol.

Do you plan on having more little ones???

I am not sure if we will have more. For now our family feels right. We have 7 frozen embryos and I could see myself wanting to try again in 3-4 years once the twins are in school. We will see though. I am just happy and thankful to have the ones I have right now

Well that's good that you have 7 frosties (I thought I would have a lot but turned out to only have 5 frosties), did you only do one stimming cycle for your 7 frosties plus your babies???

5 frosties is really good! What day were they frozen?

We did a medicated IUI cycle before our IVF which was a disaster because they did not prevent my ovulation with anything and my blood work showed that I was going to ovulate early so they said I either do a reduction or cancel my IUI so we did the reduction (this is where my issue with Dr. Daya comes in but it is a long story) and then when that didn't work we moved to IVF and we got 22 eggs, 18 fertilized, 13 made it to day 5 and we have used 6 so far.

They are day 5 frosties and pretty good quality. If you don't mind me asking, was your first IVF a fresh and if so, was that a successful one??? The reason I am asking is, I am not so positive that this cycle has worked and I am wondering if I am setting myself up for heartbreak, I mean, how likely is it that the second or thrid attempt works but the first one doesn't???

Hi, yep my first one (the fresh cycle) was successful. But so was my FET. My first FET was a chemical but the second one worked (and we ended up with two!) I think as long as you have good quality frozen embryos you have a really good shot but hopefully you wont have to worry about it and your fresh first attempt will work!!!!

Hi everyone!

I am currently starting a FET cycle with donor eggs as soon as my period starts! I did an IVF cycle with a fresh transfer back in July-aug last year!!!! I am also with Dr S and do like him a lot. I usually go to the Brampton Clinic, and believe me.....the useless nurses are EVERYWHERE!!! I do, however, REALLY like Alexis at Brampton. She knows what she is doing!!!

Hey Kelly Anne, I just finished my fresh transfer and it ended in a chemical So now I am going for FET, my cycle just started today..... When is your AF due and is this your first FET???

On a side note, maybe a bit of a rant..... I was getting very faint positives on HPT and very low positives on my beta then all of a sudden, negative on HPT. I was concerned so I went into Mississauga (because of course Burlington was closed, story of my life) and explained the situation and they assured me they would call me by 3pm with the results..... they did not..... So I emailed Dr. S since I was unsure what to do (stop taking my meds....). He emailed me back at 10pm I really like Dr. S but feel the nurses (for the most part) are very insensitive with no sense of urgency and cause unnecessary stress.

Anyhoo, I hope the FET goes better for us

Hey Alinae!

This is my first FET. We did IVF last year with no frosties. It was a disaster cycle. My eggs were horrible, so we elected to used Donor eggs. My donor should have started her stims today. I am due for AF March 17.so hopefully an April 4th transfer!!!

I have the same issues with the nurses, they don't follow-up! I went in for a pregnancy test at 10:30 and waited for an hour! JUST FOR BLOOD! I approached a nurse stating I was concerned they would send the blood before they took mine as it was after 11, and she said, as long as I was on the list, I didn't have to worry. Needless to say the lab tech (not the reg w as it was a Saturday) sent the blood before taking mine. When I told her I had been waiting for an hour so i could get the results that day, she said it was "too bad" she was busy.

I was astounded. I had to wait until the Monday to get my results. I was livid. Brampton nurses really seem to be clueless and uneducated! I always speak to Alexis, she is the only nurse there with a brain.

Wow, sounds like things are going a bit downhill That is sad because I did not experience any of this when I was there! I would make sure that you are voicing these concerns with Dr.S and even the clinic's manager. You are paying (A TON!!!) for their services and you should be heard!

Kelly Anne - Looks like we are about a week apart, good luck!!! KMP on your FET journey, I like to hear from people at the same clinic since the protocols are usually very similar!

SMC and Kelly Anne - I have made my opinions known to Dr. S and Sylvia (The clinic director, actually, Dr. S let her know via emails to me and her). Last cycle, right in the middle of my stims, the Burlington office decided to cancel my appointment twice because the nurse called in sick 2 Saturdays in a row and was not able to fit me in for a week.... so that meant that from CD6 - CD12 I was not monitored.... such a fragile time to mess with appointments and I was concerned because on CD6 my E2 was 13,000. I had to end up going in to Mississauga (which I do not like because it's always a 3 hour appointment) and triggering on CD12. I agree, we are paying quite a bit of money and I look at it like I am a customer and it seems as though some nurses look at it as though this is paid by OHIP (because I get the same service there that I do at the hospital) and therefore, I technically am not the customer, OHIP is...... but OHIP isn't paying thousands of dollars, I am.... I do know that Dr. S agree's with us and welcomes the feedback so they can make changes to provide better service.

On a side note, it is a beautiful day and I couldn't be happier to start another cycle

Alinae-Super excited to be cycling around the same time!!! I agree with giving the clinic feedback, but I'm going to be cautious with what I say until this is done!!! haha just incase!!! haha

So I emailed the donor nurse yesterday to find out if my donor had started on time. I pay Newlife to liason for me between my donors clinic in Houston. As of 2ish today I still hadnt heard anything. So I call my nurse in Brampton, not the donor nurse, she called my donors clinic and found out she did start! Hurray!

At about 4pm today, the donor nurse emails me back saying she doesnt know if my donor has stared, as she hasn't heard anything, and that she will let me know as soon as she hears. So, I pay newlife to liason, and she can't even pick up a phone???

The nurse in Brampton was like "just give me 5 mins and I will find out....and it wasn't even her job!!!!

Like I said, there are some lazy and useless nurses with newlife....VERY disappointing!!!

ON A POSITIVE, MY DONOR STARTED!!!! HURRAY!!!

That is exciting that your donor has actually started. Sorry you are having such a shitty experience with NL! Maybe they are outgrowing themselves. When I was there it was so much better!
