Hi all,

DD is almost ready to walk. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on which shoes they liked best for their toddler. I'm looking at Geox, Stride Rite or Robeez. Any advice would be appreciated!

Until she is doing a lot of walking outdoors, barefeet or the Robeez type of soft soled slippers are best for the development of the foot muscles & bones. Once she is toddling about on a variety of uneven outdoor surfaces, then something light weight with not too stiff of a rubber sole is needed (stride rites fit this bill, and there are many others).

Check out Pediped shoes as well (I also like Robeez). You can get soft leather soles for walking indoors and very flexible rubber soles for learning to walk outside.

I love Robeez. DS has several pairs. He has chubby feet and most Robeez fit him well, unlike others I have tried. The ones with the soft soles are great for learning to walk because I guess they can feel everything through and it helps send the messages to the brain or something like that. Robeez has 3 styles. DS really loves the ones that are real shoes, but Robeez has stopped making them (StrideRite bought Robeez so they are only doing the StrideRite ones now, and I personally haven't liked any of the StrideRite I have tried on DS).

My best advice is to take DD to the store with you (preferably a baby boutique type with helpful staff) as they will help fit the shoes on her and find ones that work and you can try different styles. What fits one kid good, won't fit the next the same way.

Pediped makes good shoes too. I found our DD tripped over the first Robeez hard soled shoes she had, the soles are really wide. She had no issues when I put her in the Pediped shoes. You can find them at Toys R Us and most baby boutiques, you can also order them online. They are expensive but worth the money.

I'm gonna go now. My time here is done, and it's time to move on. I am on Facebook and if you'd like to be my friend PM me, I will leave this account active for awhile, but not for too much longer.

It's been a blast(ocyst) (my lame attempt a IF humor)
