How many weeks did you deliver from your EDD (Estimated Due Date?)
Also indicate if you had a singleton, or twins as that would affect your due date vs. actual date possibly.
Also when you delivered was it scheduled, or was it a surprise?
And any thing else you'd like to share.
I'm having twins and have no clue when I'll deliver. My EDD is Dec 4th, but I just say "sometime in November".....

I was induced at 37 weeks with a singleton for PIH

I delivered 3 weeks early because my water broke. I had previously been scheduled for a c-section because baby was not head down.

Amiee, my due date with twins was January 5, but we had a c-section scheduled for December 20 (which would have been 37/4). In the end I was admitted with PE/HELLP at 30w and had a semi-emergency c-section on November 15 at 32/4. With twins you just never know!

4 days past EDD, singleton, membranes swept caused water to break - resulted in emergency c-section.

My DD was due on a Tuesday but was born the Saturday after. She came along naturally after a labour that started from acts of desperation;) - dr threatened to induce so went for a bunch of long walks, jumped on the trampoline and even jogged for a bit. She never did drop and I had to have my water broke for me. Bur after 12 hours of labour and only half hour of pushing, she came out perfect.

Delivered at 40 weeks, jut one day short of my my EDD. I had singleton an an uneventful pregnancy. My water broke at home, which speed up things At the end the cord was short and has sunnyside up, so he needed a bit help with a forceps in the last 10 minutes.

TTC #1: natural TTC 1.5 yrs
Dh: 35, Severe Male factor infertility, morphology is 1-2%
Me: 32 , tubes open, no endo, regular ovulation, all hormones are good, 3rd day FSH 5.3 , antral follicle count is 12, only problem is my weight BMI: 30
IVF/ ICSI #1: 2008 February -McGill, Montreal
Long protocol: BCP for 1 month, burselin from CD21, 300 Gonal F and 150 Luveris for 10 days
ER: 11 egg , 6 mature , 5 fertilized, 3rd day transfer:a 7 cell & an 8 cell embyos, no frosties.
1st beta : 13dp3dt: 77, BFP
2008,November 19th: Adam has arrived 7 lb 4 oz, 21"

Not quite a week from my EDD but almost. My water broke at 39 weeks, 1 day and my DD was born at 3am the next day (39 weeks, 2 days) with no intervention to speed things along (I went into labour naturally after my water broke). I was sure she was going to be late as I am a procrastinator myself but she surprised me by wanting to meet us a little early.
TTC #1: since Feb 2005 "unexplained" (immune issues, elevated NK cells, 2 heterozygous MTHFR and 2 heterozygous thrombophilias), me-41, DH-41, married since 1995!
Tried: Naturopath, Chinese herbs, Acupuncture, Homeopathy
4 un-medicated IUI's BFN
IVF # 1 18 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 8 out of 16 fertilized (1/2 ICSI, half IVF), 5 made it to day 5 blast, transferred two, froze 3
first ever BFP m/c
FET #1 medicated, transferred two, started spotting 2 days later, full blown AF 5 days later (decided I don't react well to Estrace, will do natural frozen next time) BFN
FET #2 natural (but still with progesterone (crinone) support, transferred last blast from IVF #1 BFN
IVF #2 16 eggs retrieved, decided not to do ICSI this time since cycle #1 showed eggs could fertilize on their own, only 3 fertilized! None made it to blast for transfer no transfer! Disaster!
IVF #3 decided to add some repronex to the stims and do all ICSI. 18 eggs, 17 mature and 15 fertilized, 8 made it to day 5 blast. Transferred two blasts, froze 6 BFN
FET#3 added 3 HCG booster shots and doubled up on the crinone to prevent me from spotting early (as I often do), transferred 2 blasts, no spotting but a BFN anyway
FET #4- added ovidral just before my natural ovulation so they could pin point it more accurately with the 36 hour window, HCG shots again, plus double crinone BFN
January 2009 Consult with new RE in Markham - he finds a small septum, resected April 29, 09 - tells me to now try my last two frozen blasts
FET #5 - ET scheduled for June 15 (natural cycle with trigger, HCG booster and crinone) - BFN
On to Plan B- Switch clinic to Markham for
#4 Fresh IVF with IVIg, exploring immune testing - start BCP Sept 20. ER around week of Oct. 25
9 eggs retrieved, 1 immature, 1 fractured. 7 to work with. 4 out of 7 fertilized (Day 3: 1 8 cell grade 1, 2 8 cell grade 2 and 1 morula). Day 5 transferred 1 great blast and 1 morula (1 morula and 1 10 cell did not make it to freezing).
Beta Nov. 11 - BFP! (550) I am in shock!
Issues with spotting, Nov 20, second beta 11,000 and early ultrasound: saw gestational sac and yolk sac in the right place but concern about a cyst or possible ectopic near my ovary as well, 4 more ultrasounds over a 10 day period, last ultrasound on Dec. 2 'cyst' has not grown and baby measuring on target at 7wks, 1day with a heart beat of 153bpm.
Now taking Lovenox due to 2 heterozygous thrombophilias
Ultrasound on Dec. 18 (9 weeks, 5 days) baby on track, hb 167
Ultrasound on Dec. 22 due to extra heavy spotting, baby still measuring on track, hb 167 and dancing
Ultrasound on Jan. 8 (12 weeks, 5 days) baby on track, hb 160, baby doing crunches!
18 week anatomy scan scheduled for Feb. 16 - they lost my blood work for the second part of the IPS so no results for that today (they took blood again) but the 18 week scan went great, baby looked awesome and even gave us a little wave in between sucking her thumb and inspecting her toes. Yes, I said "her" - it's a little girl!
20 week ultrasound at Mt. Sinai and they agree, so far so good.
IPS results are in and they are excellent!

#4 Fresh IVF with IVIg, exploring immune testing - start BCP Sept 20. ER around week of Oct. 25
9 eggs retrieved, 1 immature, 1 fractured. 7 to work with. 4 out of 7 fertilized (Day 3: 1 8 cell grade 1, 2 8 cell grade 2 and 1 morula). Day 5 transferred 1 great blast and 1 morula (1 morula and 1 10 cell did not make it to freezing).
Beta Nov. 11 - BFP! (550) I am in shock!
Issues with spotting, Nov 20, second beta 11,000 and early ultrasound: saw gestational sac and yolk sac in the right place but concern about a cyst or possible ectopic near my ovary as well, 4 more ultrasounds over a 10 day period, last ultrasound on Dec. 2 'cyst' has not grown and baby measuring on target at 7wks, 1day with a heart beat of 153bpm.
Now taking Lovenox due to 2 heterozygous thrombophilias
Ultrasound on Dec. 18 (9 weeks, 5 days) baby on track, hb 167
Ultrasound on Dec. 22 due to extra heavy spotting, baby still measuring on track, hb 167 and dancing
Ultrasound on Jan. 8 (12 weeks, 5 days) baby on track, hb 160, baby doing crunches!
18 week anatomy scan scheduled for Feb. 16 - they lost my blood work for the second part of the IPS so no results for that today (they took blood again) but the 18 week scan went great, baby looked awesome and even gave us a little wave in between sucking her thumb and inspecting her toes. Yes, I said "her" - it's a little girl!
20 week ultrasound at Mt. Sinai and they agree, so far so good.
IPS results are in and they are excellent!

Baby girl arrived at 39 weeks, 2 days! July 14, 2010 3:12 am, weighing 7 pounds even.

My water broke just past midnight or so at 38W1D, delivered at 38W2D. Contractions didn't start right away, did fast walks and took some castor oil. Ulitmately, DS was born via c-section due to complications. Thank goodness all went well.

Single birth my membranes ruptured a few days before 35 weeks (just leaking at first then complete rupture once already hospitalized). DS was born at exactly 35 weeks by emergency c-section (his heartrate plummeted and although went back up OB said there was no way he would fit through my pelvis even though he was tiny due to tilted pelvis).

#1 - Due date Feb 21. She was born on Feb 7 via c-section after being induced due to cholestasis of pregnancy. C-section came after 3 days in the hospital and water finally breaking and then her getting stuck in my pelvis.

After a complicated pregnancy, my twins were born at 32wk4day. My water started to leak at 31 weeks exactly. I had surgery at 17 weeks to save my twins, and the doctor had warned me that the stress of it usually brings on early delivery. He said anything I get after 27 weeks is a bonus. So my two boys were born naturally after four hours of hard labour and about twenty minutes of pushing. (No drugs either, but this not by choice, no one checked me until it was too late.) I survived anyways. LOL.

I had a complicated twin pregnancy so my doctor would not let me go longer than 38 weeks. No one thought I would actually make it to my scheduled c-section but I did!

Oct. 27 - (28wks) Finally home on bed rest after 8 wks in the hospital!!! Babies are doing well but cervix is shortening.
Dec. 23 - (36wks 2 days) Last official u/s! Both babies estimated to be just under 6lbs each! Cervix at 0.7cm. Go cervix go!
Jan. 4, 2011 - After 4 months on bed rest we made it to 38wks and my scheduled c-section!!!

I delivered twins at 37 1/2 weeks - planned c-section. Had some blood complications, but my OBGYN wanted them out around 37 to 38 weeks - no later due to increased risks for both mom & babies. Both my kids went home after 3 days of hospital stay - weighing in at 6 and 5.5 lbs... I am not a big person - pre preg weight of 126lbs & smaller boned.How many weeks did you deliver from your EDD (Estimated Due Date?)
Also indicate if you had a singleton, or twins as that would affect your due date vs. actual date possibly.
Also when you delivered was it scheduled, or was it a surprise?
And any thing else you'd like to share.
I'm having twins and have no clue when I'll deliver. My EDD is Dec 4th, but I just say "sometime in November".....

I read up on it when I was pregnant and apparently 40 weeks is a number some guy picked out of a hat. Well, OK, he probably liked how round it was - and it's pretty close. The actual average pregnancy length (for singletons) is 41w1d for first pregnancies and 40w1d for subsequent ones. Obviously this doesn't apply to twins.

Generally I think it is really hard to make precise statistic of exact length of pregnancy, unless it is an IVF /IUI pregnancy.
The length is calculated based on last menstrual periods, and when women are not trying they do often not remember their exact period. I have multiple friends who really just pull a date out of nowhere when the Dr asked when the last menstrual period was.

I'm surprised they haven't come up with a more accurate dating system yet. In my experience, more women know their date of conception than the date of their last menstrual period. (Granted, it's not like I've done a scientific study, but lots of anecdotal evidence.) I know with my first, I estimated the date of my last period (in other words, lied to the doctor), but I did know the date of conception. I'm assuming with IVF the dating is more accurate.

DH 33: Poor motility
