Frostedlemon - you are my fertility charm! THANK YOU! ;-)

Bal - glad you are feeling better and your ovary discomfort is calming down.

MG - great news on your increased beta!

Behopeful - welcome, congratulations on your BFP!

I just had my repeat beta today at 6w3d and it is went from 17310 3 days ago to 40638 today. I had a brief moment of panic because I went to a different lab for the second blood test who reports HCG result in iU/L, whereas the first lab reports HCG in U/L. I thought for a second the results were reported in different units but the lab confirmed that they are equivalent. Seems obvious after the fact, but I'm second guessing everything these days. Making a conscious effort to think positive thoughts. Someone told me today to write down what I want (e.g. health pregnancy) and put it in my pocket. I like that idea.

Is anyone else having problems sleeping or have restless legs at night?

Me (41) Dx Unexplained.

June 2011 - To start IVF at UBC...5 days before our apt we got a surprise BFP. Baby girl born Feb/12.

Switched to PCRM in TTC 2nd

July 2013 - M/C

July 2014 - Healthy baby boy

Feb 2016 - MM/C at 9w. Heart stopped at 7w6d. D&C. Trisomy 15.

July 2016 - M/C at 7w. Near triploidy (68 chromosomes).

November 2016 - BFP. EDD July 20/17

D/c'd from repeat loss clinic at 11 weeks :-D

I just found out today that my SIL (brother's wife) is 13 wks pregnant. They didn't want to tell us earlier because she m/c a while ago and just wanted to wait it out. So, we'll have another pregnancy together! My DD and her DS were born the same day! What a coincidence, huh?

Apart from the sore bbs that I have had all along, I find it hard to believe that I am pregnant. The cramping I had a day or 2 after my bfp and the brown spotting has long since gone (thankfully), but now I am back to not really feeling any different. I am starting to feel tired by supper time, but that's it. I guess that I need to feel like crap to remind myself that I'm pregnant lol.

Shire - I'm with you. I was feeling different but something changed yesterday and I told DH last night that I don't feel pregnant anymore :( A little nausea would be more than welcome! I'm 5 weeks today and wish I felt a little something...

bal - that's quite a coincidence with your SIL!

Kim- I don't have restless legs at night but my legs have been aching through the day. I've been doing some yoga stretches (on my legs only) to help.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

My friend ButterflyKiss provided this quote from Laura Bush's book and I think it captures how many of us feel:"The English language lacks the words to mourn an absence... for someone who was never there at all, we are wordless to capture that particular emptiness. For those who deeply want children and are denied them, those missing babies hover like silent, ephemeral shadows over their lives. Who can describe the feel of a tiny hand that is never held?"

Bal - I've been having lots of odd dreams...I can't remember details but what I do remember is very strange.

I completely jumped the gun today and bought a pair of maternity jeans! I was at Walmart at lunchtime and they have maternity jeans for just $25. I tried them on and they're not bad looking so I figured why not? I'll keep the tags on them and the receipt until I need them...

My sister had kept all her maternity clothes for me for years but I finally told her to get rid of them all last year when I was sure I would never be in this position. So I have nothing. If I buy a couple things here and there now, it won't be such a big expense.

:)

MG - get these Belly Bands! I used them and they are great! There are many different brands, but here's a link so you can get the idea of the product. You can use your own pants almost all throughout the pregnancy. I loved them. I gave mine away, but have them on my amazon cart to order if I can't find them locally.

http://www.amazon.co...d=14S99NLFGN04X

I have a lot of A-line type summer dresses, so I'll be wearing those all throughout as well. I don't think I'll end up buying anything much.

Crashing the thread to say (once again) yay bal and MG!

Also, unless you're really wanting the whole mat wear thing, you may want to hold off on purchasing much - I ended up wearing my regular clothes throughout my pregnancy - I used a belly abnd (made from a tank top as someone here suggested) sometimes, but mostly used a hair elastic through the buttonhole and then warapped around the button to give me the extra stretch I needed. It worked for me and allowed me to be comfy while saving the $ for stuff we needed/wanted for the baby.

Enjoy it all!

Thanks for the suggestions of the band...that will work so long as my butt doesn't expand at the same rate as my belly! It would be nice to not have to spend money on new dress pants for work especially.

Mouse - how do you make one out of a tank top? I'm not the most crafty person in the world :P

Nor am I, lol, MG. But back when, someone posted about the belly bands riding up a lot and someone - maybe tabby? - suggested making one out of a tank top since they're sort of made not to ride up. She gave directions, but as I'm not crafty at all, what I did was get a medium tank top and cut just below where the straps came up - to sort of make it an even hem all round. Then I used stitching tape (iron on) to hem it for real. Done. It worked quite well and I used it up until somewhere in the late 20s-mid 30s.

Yay the band worked for you bal. FWIW, I found the bloat of early pregnancy to be worse than anything in later months. Not sure why, maybe because it was new or because the ol' ovaries were still sore, but Holy Mother, it was awful!

It was Silverdollar who posted the DIY band. I think its on the crafts forum, or something like that? I'll see if I can find it.

SD posted about a method to convert non maternity pants into mat pants using a panel. There was an earlier post (back just before or around about the time of my IVFs so summer 2009) that had some handy-dandy ideas re belly bands etc. That's where the original post on how to make one out of a tank top was. I tried searching for it, but the search function no longer goes back to the beginning of things.

I can't imagine what a belly band is...I would need a pic to understand. Bal, I will take a look at your link. I like to wear snug fitting clothes and heels. I don't mind that that won't last long, but I wore some especially high heels to work today, just because...well just because... I'm happy and that was my way of showing off my happiness without giving away my secret. We are waiting for the 12 week mark, we figure.

MG - Glad to hear that you are feeling like me right now. I felt a little 'twingy' in the belly this afternoon. It's odd that some days I feel pregnant and others I don't. I still just can't believe it... we are the luckiest girls in the world!

Bal - My abdomen doesn't feel 'hard' at all. I feel bloated and puffy like I'm retaining water. The heparin shots make my belly tender, too.

Shire - you can wear form fitting clothes till you have the baby! And your heels also!

I love my 4" heels! I have been wearing flats though. Just because my mom is so adamant about me not wearing my heels when pregnant that if I ever tripped on something (not due to the heels) I wouldn't hear the end of it! So I'm wearing flats for everyday. You can also wear your heels till you feel comfortable in them. My friend wore them almost every day till she was 8 months pregnant. I wore them every now and then, but people do tend to say something! Or direct the comment at DH which really pisses me! You know what I mean? Ok, end of flashback rant...

Before DD I don't think I owned a pair of flats (aside from flip flops for the beach) but after I tried the flats, I have to say that they are comfy and a little addictive. And there are so many cute ones out there now!

Oh, the 12 wk mark! For me that's the end of July. But I've started telling close friends, not the closest, because those knew since the beta. I'm dying to tell. DH is being more cautious.

My next u/s is next Monday. 9 wks... can't wait!

Hi ladies. Ok I'm having a days of nerves. Like MG I feel like something changed today and my breasts stopped hurting and I've had intermittent mild cramps which is making me nervous. I may have asked this before but do your symptoms come and go?This is my first pregnancy and I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and have my first u/s on thurs. I wish I wasn't so paranoid but I've read so many m/c and blighted ovum stories I've freaked myself out. I can't wait for thurs to get some piece of mind. Any words of wisdom?

Symptoms come and go. It is nervewrecking. I don't remember how far along I was, not much, but I once went to my OB crying because my symptoms were gone and I had AF like cramps and I was sure I'd lost the baby. She was kind enough to treat me as an emergency and saw me before the 4 ladies in her waiting room. She gave me a quick u/s and everything was fine... but I was so sure when I got there! Literally in tears... crazy!

I'm sure everything's ok, Kim. After 10 wks you can use a doppler at home (amazon or ebay) and listen to the hb yourself, anytime!

God, please give us patience to get to February with sane minds. :)

Hi Ladies! Been a busy week for me but it's nice as it went by fast.

Can't believe that it's my 9wk ultrasound tomorrow (Weds). DH and I are feeling positive and really really hopeful. My tummy has really popped out and is now hard, plus I'm still getting all day yuckiness which is comforting.

I was outed at a family get together this past weekend due to one aggressive uncle tryng to pour wine down my throat because he was so excited about the great bottle of wine he had. The fact that I, who never turns down a good wine, actually turned down the wine, plus my obviously fat little tummy in my skin tight pants gave it all away to the very curious eyes that were there and a long conversation and confession ensued. Oh well. They were told that my history is less than steller and to keep their joy tempered until we made it through the next few weeks.

Bal - my 12 wk mark is on July 20th. Still a ways to go but hoping it will pass by quickly with the busy summer. Very excited to hear about your 9 wk u/s on Monday!! FX for wonderful news :)

Kim2 - symptons definately come and go. I was feeling like everything toned down last week but then it all got going again. Hopefully yours will come creeping back in again too!!!

Shire - I'm definately there with the skin tight clothes. My whole wardrobe is fitted and is now giving me some stress as I'm at the end of all my work clothes. I plan on getting some nice breezy summer dresses to get me through the summer and then I'll consider what I need for pants in the fall. My DH loves my high heels and I usually cruise around in a 3" heel for work and 4" for dress up. I find the 4" heel panics all the onlookers when you are pg. It's like a tight rope act or something like that. I can see the problem when we are 8 mo's pg and our entire centre of gravity has changed but do they really think we are that far off kilter already? Crazy people!

I forget who was asking about the crazy dreams?
I've been having wild ones ranging anywhere from falling off a very high cliff to the red hot sex dream I had last night where I had to tell the tall dark haired stranger who I was passionately kissing and grinding that I'm sorry but I couldn't go any further due to my husband and my delicate condition. What is wrong with me? I should have tapped that!!!! (Did I mention that we are not allowed to have sex right now due to my high risk condition and that it's been 8 wks since I've last had a good time. And the hormones are high? Not a fun thing.) Both DH and I are hoping that we'll get the okay soon.

Anybody else in this same boat?
A very long time trying...

BH - LOL! It was me with the dreams... I didn't tell it then, but you gave me courage. I dreamt that I was cheating on DH! Nonetheless than with a guy who I had a crush on when I was 12! We also stopped after a kiss and some fondling because we knew we were both married. jajaja

I felt so bad the next day!!!! I felt guilty with DH and I couldn't even look at the guy's status on FB.

We haven't had sex since 2-3 days before ER! There you have it! That might be the problem, right BH?
