Thanks Rick!
I have an irregularly shaped uterus, I have had a uterine septum removed, I have an endocervical folds that are most probably causing persistent fluid in my uterus, I had chronic endometritis for over a year, a luteal phase defect, I had two dermoid cysts (benign tumours the size of oranges) on my ovaries removed, I am MTHFR heterozygous, and have been told that I may have an "egg quality" issue.
You name it, I've got it :(
Miracle DS born December 2008
December 2009: TTC#2
June 2010: Started at McGill
Transferred to Montreal Reproductive Center- had a horrible experience
Switched to Montreal Fertility Center- So happy there!
IVF #1- short protocol
ER: April 21/11- 8 eggs, 7 mature
5 embryos
On day 3: 4x4 cell grade 2 and 1x2 cell grade 1
5 day transfer of 1 blast on April 26/11 (two surprise blast frosties)
Beta on May 6/11. BFN :(
June 2011: On the waiting list for adoption from South Korea
July 2011:Persistent chronic endometritis (endometrial inflammation from a complication post c-section) finally cured!
FET #1:September 8th 2011- transfer of 2 blasts
Beta on September 19/11 BFN :(
IVF #2- short protocol again
ER: Oct. 5/11- 13 eggs collected, 11 mature and fertilized
2DPER- : 11 embryos were grades 2&3 and 2,3,4 and 5 cells
Oct. 10/11 5 day transfer of 1 blast. Two blast frosties
Beta on October 20/11 BFN :(
Consult with Dr. Jamal@OVO- October 2011. Re-consulted Dr. Holzer@McGill. Staying with MFC for now.
Operative hysteroscopy with Dr. Mahutte on February 23, 2012 to hopefully remove and endocervical cyst or polyp. -
-- no cyst or polyp, but endocervical folds were found that are most probably damage from a cerclage from my previous pregnancy. The folds cannot be removed but should not effect implantation.
Phone consult booked with Dr. Librach, a reproductive immunologist, to explore possible immune issues. (Feb. 16, 2012) rescheduled for February 28th, 2012.
Dr. Librach said that I most probably have immune issue based on my history and symptoms. With next transfer I will be:
-Having an intralipid infusion,
-using steroids
-Using baby aspirin
-Praying that it works!
And traveling back and forth from Toronto for treatments along with cycling at MFC.
FET #2
Started Estrace April 9, 2012
Estimated transfer date: April 26, 2012
CYCLE CANCELLED- lining didn't look right even though it grew but only after 16 days
FET #3 (actually FET #2 Take 2)
Started Estrace May 9th, 2012- lining not cooperating again :(
Cycle cancelled again.
This was our last try before going down a new path...I'm done. My body and soul can't take this anymore.
May 2012: Looking into surrogacy.
June 2012: Now looking for a surrogate
Sept 2012:
We may have found the most wonderful surrogate! Keep your fingers crossed after so much heartache (after contacting over 250 surrogates and getting close with about 4 before all contact stopped?)
May 2012:
It looks like it is going to be at least 4 more years. Adoption from South Korea has slowed down.
September 2012:
South Korea waiting list closed because there are no proposed children. Hopefully things will pick up.
On the waiting list for adoption from Kazakhstan ( looking at a probable 2 year wait.)
October 2012:
Called to sign a contract with Alliance Des Familles du Quebec. In Shock! Might be adopting from Kazakstan earlier than anticipated!
November 2012:
Waiting for my surrogate to have her sonohystogram.
Signed contract with Alliance Des Familles du Quebec and opened file with SAI. Starting home study in January 2013.
So, right now, it seems like its always all or nothing!
Pursuing surrogacy (in the screening stage/pre-contract) and international adoption from Kazakhstan.
I'm praying that we will choose the right path. I'm so conflicted and don't know what to do.

And meggg, congrats on the BFP... you might be one of the very first at Montréal Reproductive to have one! YAY!!!!!
We're in a holding pattern at the moment. I wanted a couple of months to get on the prenatals, baby aspirin, vitamin supplements, extra folic acid, etc. and I'm doing that right now. Besides, waiting like this lets us time our IVF fairly well with Hubby's studies. I'd rather have a newborn in the house AFTER he's finished final exams and is working full-time again!
Me: 40, PCOS, Hypothyroidism
Hubby: 42, vasectomy + failed reversal
Blog: The Hardest Quest
Tried: 25+ IUIs, 5 dIUIs (Puregon + Clomid), 2 chemical p/g; all Negativel
IVF #1
Retrieval: December 2 (8 retrieved, 6 mature, 6 fertilized)
Transfer: December 5 (3 8-celled embryos transferred)
Betas: December 18 (13dp3dt); POSITIVE @ 108, December 22 (17dp3dt); 355
Ultrasound: Vanishing Twin Syndrome (initially 2, now 1 embryo)
EDD: August 25, 2009
SHE'S HERE! Petite was born on August 27, 2009 and we're thrilled!
IVF #2
Back for round 2, for a sibling for Petite in 2011

6 months trying before intervention
Me: 2.9cm Endometrioma on left ovary
Fiancee: 1-5% morphology (depending on the month)
Laparoscopy (May 2011)
RPL Testing (March 2012): All normal
HLA Testing for my fiancé, myself and donor sperm (August 2012)
2 Failed IUIs (March & April 2011)
CLINIC MFC 1st IVF (July. 2011) - TAKE 1: 18 eggs, 15 fertilized by ICSI, all arrested on day 5. Transfer CANCELLED.
CLINIC MFC 1st IVF (Aug. 2011) - TAKE 2: 10 eggs, 8 fertilized by ICSI, pushed for day 3 transfer...1 embryo transferred. BFN.
CLINIC MFC 2nd IVF (Sept. 2011) - TAKE 1: 16 follicles & 1 small cyst....I ovulated...Cycle CANCELLED.
CLINIC MRC 2nd IVF (Jan. 2012) - TAKE 2: 18 eggs, 12 mature, 12 fertilized by ICSI. 2 Blasts transfered (1 perfect & other average). BFN.
CLINIC MRC 3rd IVF (April 2012) - Intralipid & Cortisone Therapy. 20 follicles, 18 eggs, 15 mature, 18 fertilized by ICSI.
5 Blasts (2 good quality, 3 average). Embryo Testing on all 5. 2/5 are normal.
FET June 5th of the 2 good quality, CGH normal embryos. BFN.
Clinic MRC 4th IVF (March 2013)- Invested in HLA Tested Donor Sperm and using Dr Sher's Agonist-Antagonist Conversion Protocol. 14 follicles, retrieved 7, only 3 mature, but 3 fertilized (1 excellent, 2 good Day 3 embryos)
All 3 transferred on Day 3. BFP (HcG level 900)
**My Advice: When you know something is wrong, go with your gut!!! I knew we had MASSIVE sperm issues, not egg quality issues. Imagine, after tons of failed IVF cycles with my Fiancee's sperm, I get a BFP on the first try with donor sperm. Hopefully, this pregnancy will make it 'til the end. God bless.

Funny thing is that I got MFC phone number from SINOCARE Chinese acupunture clinic...I kept calling MFC and leaving them messages...no one answers and no one calls back!!!! What is going on?
Do you mean the Montreal Reproductive Center with Dr. Tan or the Montreal Fertility Center with Dr. Mahutte and Dr. Ouhilal?
I have left the Montreal Reproductive Center with Dr. Tan and I am now at the Montreal Fertility Center with Dr. Mahutte and Dr. Ouhilal
I used to go to Sinocare too! I am working with an acupuncturist who was working at Sinocare. He is half the price!
Good luck! I hope that someone calls you back.

Has anyone heard that Montreal Reproductive Centre has a license issue? They can't do IVF or IVM right now. We were told that we have to wait until the August. It's frustrating since we are ready to give it another try.
I heard that too. Has anyone had IVF or IVM with him while waiting for his license? I'm sure that Dr. Tan has done IVF and IVM at the clinic.

Well, there is no catch. It's a new clinic with a great Doctor (Dr. Tan). I came from MFC, where there is no wait list either. My problem was that their philosophy wasn't agreeing with me. At MFC, they don't believe in Day 3 transfers nor will they freeze Day 3 embryos. So in other words, you take IVF meds month after month until you conceive...with no possibility of freezing your hard work. After 2 cancelled IVFs and 1 failed IVF I decided to get onto the McGill wait list and in the mean time go to MRC for one IVF. So far, so good. They are at times disorganized but all in all a very efficient clinic... I am in and out within 15mins for each appointment. They analyze your blood during the cycle, unlike MFC. I have my egg collection next week...if all looks good on friday. I'll keep you updated.
Go for a consultation.... maybe see for yourself.
Talk soon.
God bless.

If I could start it all over again, I would have paid a visit to all 3 clinics (Ovo, MFC, MRC) and asked specific questions. But what the heck do we know when we are first starting all this? In fact, so "innocent" was I that after my first IUI, I was absolutely convinced I was pregnant!
Yes, I will def. pay MRC a visit.
Lots of good wishes to you this Friday.
