Welcome and congrats sweetestdream!

Don't worry about your beta. My first time around my first beta was only 180 but the nurse said that was a decent number.

What are you ladies up to this weekend? DH invited 3 couples from Montreal (close friends of his) and 2 single guys so my house is going to be pretty full! 8 people plus us two. I'm playing the good housewife and cooking for everyone :) SHould be fun

LuckyLady and Jadzia - I glad to hear that OFC isn't the only just doing 1 beta.. From what I have been reading on these forums, most clinics do at least two. I wish I could have a better idea sooner if there is one or two bean in me! The U/S seems like such a long time away...but you know how I feel since you're in the same boat ;)

As far as symptoms go, I haven't been feeling any major except for sore BBs, tiredness and (TMI warning) a bit of constipation which is not normal for me.

Flavah, I see you are from OFC too :) Sounds like you'll be playing hostess with great company. I'm checking out the Latin American Film Festival this weekend!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Welcome SweetestDream!

Don't worry about your beta. HCG can be anything between 50 and 400+ on the first beta for an healthy pregnancy. What they will want to check is the increase between your two betas. This is what that counts.

Flaviah, sounds like you're gonna have a fun week-end!

I'm going to a brunch (fund raising event, but the theme is chocolate so it should be good!) with some colleagues and my hubby tomorrow. Also have some shopping planned. For sunday, it will probably be working/studying for me. My DH might go to Montreal to help my mother and his father moving. Would love to go, but I can't go AND work AND study AND find time to rest!

Btw, it's not a mistake. My mother is married to his father! They have been together for 14 years, and my DH and I have known each other (and been together) for 13 years!

Welcome jadzia, hopeful and sweetdreams!

Ok gulp, here goes.... Went for the u/s yesterday and the two embryos we implanted both stuck! Twins!!! I thought I was going to throw up in the room when they told us and dh couldn't wipe the grin off his face! I knew this was a possibility but now that's it's reality it's exciting and scary at the same time. I keep having thoughts of changing two sets of diapers, trying to breastfeed two, two having tantrums etc etc. I know I am so blessed and will have lots of help from my family but I'm still trying to process this whole thing. RE said both babies measured normally and had strong heartbeats. It was cool seeing the heartbeats on the screen. She took pictures of them for us to take home and said we automatically qualify for early testing for downs/nuchal tube so we get another u/s at 12 weeks and can find out the sex at the 18-20 week u/s. My mom is ecstatic, she already said she wants to be called Nana lol. I'm still in the "don't get too excited before it's really real" mode but the u/s definitely eased my mind a lot. Ok gonna scour the internet for twin stuff now. Have a good weekend ladies!

Congrats Lake!

I know that twins can be a challenge, but I believe it is a wonderful one. Plus you have plenty of time to get enough some tips to handle 2 babies at the same time!

I'm hoping to have the same outcome (although I'd be happy with one baby too!)

Congrats Lake on seeing TWO heartbeats! Wow! May I ask how far along you were when your first beta was taken (i.e. 10dpt5dt)? I'm sure it was absolutely amazing seeing two sacs in the U/S and hearing that everything was progressing well!! :)

Hi everybody....sorry for delay with my update...got a scary moment...after I returned back from u/s on Friday, noticed some bleeding...no pain or cramping, but still it was very scary...it was getting lighter and today it almost stopped...I searched the internet and it seems it is very common to have some bleeding after transvaginal u/s...but still very scary....

We've got wonderful news - we saw one embryo (measured 9 mm - 7w2d) with good hearbeat 134...the whole experience was amazing!!!!

I am taking it very easy right now...trying not to think too much about this accident...allow myself lots of resting...Cause I still do not have any symptoms - it is so hard to beleive that there is baby in there!!!

Lake that is awesome you're expecting twins!

Navy, thanks for keeping us all up to date. And congrats on seeing your little bean.

AFM I'm just waiting for the weekend so both DH and I can go to the clinic together and see what's happening next. I'm hoping for nature to take care of things on her own but until then it'll be really neat to see all 4 little ones in the u/s. I'm feeling HUGE already and can't stop eating! Hi,

Strawberry, I hope too nature will help you out!

AFM, well I guess I have to get used to having no appetite and nausea almost all the time... To be more precise: if my stomach is empty = nausea. If I take one too many bites (and that's not a lot) = nausea. It's better at dinner time, but at breakfast and at lunch, I can only eat about half my usual portion!!! So I'm starting to bring very small meal, but with a bunch of healthy snacks so I can make sure I eat everything I need over the whole day. Well, I hope I manage to eat enough (I guess I will have to write it down to make sure).

How's your appetite ladies! Same, higher or lower than the usual?

Hello ladies,

First off, congrats to all of you. :) Hopefully it is o.k. if I join you! My due date is November 2nd. I can hardly believe it!!! I have been lurking on this thread for awhile, but wanted to wait until the ultrasound to join up with a due date group.

Quick question: My Dr. wants me to stop prometrium at 9 weeks (in a week and a half) cold turkey and I am freaking out a bit about it. It seems that most people are on it for the whole first trimester. Also, I used to have terrible spotting with every cycle except this one. So that makes me think low progesterone. Anyone go off that early without even being tested for progesterone levels?

Thanks!

OMG congrats Lake!! I'e got less than 2 hours until my u/s. I'll make sure to update you girls after I get home with the news :) I'm hoping for good news. I'm a bit worried b/c I just got back from the washroom and found a bit of brown discharge in my pantyliner. I looked it up online and it states it's quite normal if there is no abdominal pain which I don't have any at all.

I'm not going to bother calling the clinic since I'm going there in 45 mins anyways so I'll mention it when I'm there just in case so they can check my HcG levels. I'm trying to stay positive but it's definitively scary!!!

Hi Ladies! Hope everyone is having a great week an feeling good!

Flavah - Good luck with your u/s! I am sure everything will go great! I look foeard to hearing all about it!

Fruitofthewhomb - Welcome! My clinic instructed me to take prometrium until I am 10 weeks. Once I am 10 weeks I stop taking the Estrace as well. I never had my levels checked with my last pregnancy.

Jazdia - My nausea is getting stronger by the day! It is a horrible feeling but it is worth it! I am trying to eat small snacks like you. Big meals don't agree with me!

Strawberry, Lake and Navy - Congrats! I am so happy for all of you! You started the board with good luck!

I am hoping this week goes fast. March 30th can't come fast enough. I am having some pregnancy symptoms now so it does feel a little more real. I almost called my clinic yesterday to ask for another beta. One beta just doesn't take the worry away!

I'm back girls! I'm having twins!!!

DH is in total shock, he won't say much to me. haha poor guy wasn't expecting twins, I was kinda hoping for it but he wasn't. I'm going to leave him alone to let it all sink in while I bask in the happiness with my mom :D

YAY!

Only downfall is that Baby A is good sized but the gestational sac is too small :( so I have to go back next week for another u/s pray that the sac has caught up to the size of Baby B!

Welcome MacReady!

You can call you clinic and ask for the number. Some don't provide it unless you specifically ask. You seems to be at a clinic that provides only one beta, is it OFC? If so, they don't automatically give the beta (I had to ask).

Hi ladies. Mind if I jump in? I haven't been bold enough to consider a due date club until I got my official beta today though I got a +HPT early last week. Maybe I'll go hog wild and also get myself a ticker!

I'm 5 weeks today and my beta was 5500 (or something like that- I was so excited by the rest of the conversation that the number didn't seem nearly as important!).

In spite of the +HPT I was completely on edge today waiting for the official verdict. Finally feel like I can exhale a bit and admit that I'm pregnant out loud. We'll still be keeping things secret from most people until at least the u/s but I called my parents, sisters and best friend right away. It seemed mean to make people wait when they know what you're doing and have been cheering you on. I have to say, the best feeling in the world was replying to my sister's "How are you?" with "Pregnant!" Just thinking about it is making me cry.

Looking forward to hanging out with you ladies for the next 8 months!

Flavah - that's great news you're having twins! Wow, already quite a few multiples on this board. Can't wait to see if there are any more.

Macready, fruitofthewomb and Erin - welcome, it's great to see our little group growing!

AFM, I'm SUPER tired all the time! Last week I really started feeling symptoms but was off on March Break. Now that I'm back to work, it's impossible to make it through the day AND evening. I've been falling asleep every single night when I put DD to bed. Anything that doesn't get done by dinner time just doesn't get done....

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone else been feeling nausea? I am technically 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and I can't shake off the feeling this past week. I haven't actually gotten sick, but feel like I'm going to all day :( I I haven't missed any work but it's the last place I want to be. Luckily I don't live that far from work so I have been driving home at lunch to lay down for 20 minutes in my bed under the covers I hope this feeling goes away soon. I had never experienced it in my first pregnancy. My digestive system is not cooperating either which does not help. The only time I feel OK is when I'm sleeping. Just checking to see if anyone else is in the same boat...

Hopeful, sorry to hear you're experiencing all that nausea plus indigestion. It's great you're able to go home during lunch, every little bit helps. If you can, maybe you can try taking some time off work and see if you do feel better. I'm sure it will pass in a few weeks, just hang on until then. It will get better. Just think, your little bean is settling in nice and cozy in there. I'm not feeling any nausea but pretty much feeling crappy overall, and like you, work is the last place I want to be. Does anyone at your work know? I just told my boss last week, I didn't intend to, but I don't regret it either. I'm glad I did though.

Hopeful: I'm feeling some nausea but I have a feeling that real morning sickness is going to hit soon. Fortunately so far I'm able to get by just making sure to eat frequent small meals- I'm bad if I'm hungry or if I'm full! My sisters have always had bad morning sickness and swear by Dicletin. One actually sister gave me her leftovers since she just had a baby so I have them on stand-by in my purse.

Strawberry: I told my boss today- we're sitting on the phone with each other crying! I know it's super early but I have the world's greatest boss and she's been one of my biggest cheerleaders on this journey. Plus I can totally count on her to keep things quiet until we're ready to share our news more widely.
