Congratulations Niff! Great news!!

I've been a bit absent lately with lots of family visiting - but this has taken my mind off my u/s coming up tomorrow... scared but also excited to maybe see a heartbeat and make this all feel real! Nausea is getting worse, especially when I'm hungry and if I didn't force myself out of bed in the morning I really wouldn't bother getting up!! I'm just an eating and sleeping machine. Haven't gained any weight yet but I think that is because I have lost all my muscle from not working out for 2 months but this has been replaced by boob and belly fat.
TTC since Jan 2007

Feb 2010: referred to fertility clinic 1
Mar 2010: tests revealed poor morphology, but told that overall sperm not a problem. progesterone a bit low.
April - August 2010: 3 cycles seraphene + ultrasound and bloodwork monitoring + progesterone

September 2010: moved to Ottawa, referred to OFC
October: Strict morphology test reveals normal forms only 2.5%. Realise treatment at clinic 1 was pointless.
November 15: consent signing for IVF with ICSI
December 7: start bcp
December 20: start suprefact
December 31: blood test - all good to go
Jan 1: start puregon
Jan 11: trigger
Jan 13: ER. 13 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and injected, 10 fertilized!
Jan 18: ET. 2 blasts put back!! 1 frosty.
Jan 31: BFP! Beta: 488.
Feb 23: U/S 154 bpm, looks great. Hi baby!!!
May 5: U/S 150 bpm. Everything looks good. And we're having a girl!

Niff: WOOHOO!!! Twins! I must admit, I'm a tad jealous. I was really hoping for twins but it does not take away an ounce of happiness that I have for you. Check out the Twins or more forum. I was a part of it for a while hoping that it'd be twins for me but no go. It's a great group with quite a few ladies further ahead so they will be helpful.

Krista: Congrats!

Adlovesma: Glad everything looks good. What a relief hey?

Congrats to those ladies with great u/s and beta's today!!

Before I had my first I wanted twins too. After not so much and now after my loss no way!

I am feeling pretty good other than exhaustion. I have a headache today which sucks. I am also finding my skin is breaking out a bit. With my boys my skin was always nice.

Congrats Niff!! So did your due date change because you'll have twins?

I had a nightmare last night that I was having a miscarriage. It was horribly graphic and awful. I'm 7 1/2 weeks and still have a 1 1/2 weeks 'til my ultrasound. I think I am just freaking myself out! :th_aggahhh: I really need that reassurance that everything's ok.

Congrats on the twins Niff! My doc told me yesterday she suspects that I might be carrying twins. When I told me husband he blurted out his shock, lol. He hopes for one, but secretly I hope for two :) That way my family can be complete in one round :)

Is anyone else have trouble sleeping? I have always been a stomach and side sleeping, but my chest is sooo sore I can only sleep on my back, which means, I'm not sleeping.

Support Seeker - I have been sleeping in a sports bra and that helps. My bbs are only sore around the outsides as they grew quite quickly, I'm up a cup size and I am a petite person so makes a big difference. You might want to try spooning a pillow, or investing now in a pregnancy pillow. They're supposed to be great. You definitely need your sleep!

Congrats Niff, that's great news! Double trouble!!!

AFM - we had our ultrasound today and thankfully everything is right on track.
Heartrate was 136 and baby was measuring 7w2d.

What's weird is that the doc, before even looking at the ultrasound results, said that I was 7w2d based on the date of the transfer and everything, but I used the tool on this website and used the day of transfer and it (along with the tickers and such) say I'm 6w6d. Plus, she agreed that my due date is Oct 13th so if we agree on my due date than how can we be 3 days off? Strange.

Anyway, it was SUCH a relief to see the heartbeat. I had my husband take a short video on his phone which is not great resolution but still great, especially since the photo they gave us is quite bad. i think i'll probably be watching it quite a lot over the next while :)

Oh, and she also gave me a prescription for diclectin so hopefully that'll help with the 24/7 nausea! It's super expensive but thankfully covered under our drug plan.

hopingtobe3- My DH took a video on his phone too. We played it on repeat one night listening to the heartbeat. It was such a good bonding moment. Congrats!

Support seeker: I had my first night of not being able to sleep. Usually I am exhausted by 9pm and that's with a nap. I didn't nap yesterday and was up until almost 1am...wide awake. I hope everything is okay. I did go back to the gym and did some relaxing yoga yesterday for the first time. Maybe that helped. I went again today and do not feel as tired either. I hope all is well. Let me know if you try the pillow.

Hopingtobe3 - Terrific news, the ultrasound is a great moment eh? You are right, with ER on the 20th of Jan as you had, I get 6wks 6days for you also. Could the doc be counting from "ovulation" so 36hrs prior when you'd have taken the trigger shot? That's all I can think of. If the baby measured 7wks 2days on U/S (CRL Measurement) well that's good and means implantation was at the front end of the window vs middle or end.

Kitty - sweet dreams tonight. No more nightmares!

Hope everyone's feelin good.

Hopingtobe3 congrats! There are some time small differences in measuring the weeks - up to one week (ahead or behind) is OK. Don't worry everything is fine. Sorry about the nausea.

I haven't tried the pillow yet, but I plan on buying one this weekend. I just don't have time during the week with work. Last night I was so tired that I was in bed by 8:30, which I regretted later, because I was awake at 3:30 until my alarm went off at 6:30, urgh. I also just keep tossing and turning because my bb's hurt sooo much. I think I'll try the sports bra idea tonight. I'm pretty tiny and can't get over how something so small can hurt so much! lol.

Has anyone started using anything to help prevent stretch marks? If so, what are you using. I know my sis-in-law used bio oil, but I don't want to talk to her about it and we haven't told the family yet about the pregnancy. I'd love to hear everyones thought about stretch mark prevention.

At this point i'm just using lotion for dry skin. I'm not sure what else to use otherwise yet. Glad you started this topic!

Hoping....hopefully that pesky spottig is just implantation and stops soon!

Support....I have a snoogle and a wedge pillow. The wedge is more for later on but might help save the bbs. I like my snoogle and am using it already. I find pregnancy leaves me feeling a bit sore/stiff so a little support is great.

As for stretchmarks with my first I was just using coco butter cream. In still got marks mostly on my sides. I only got them on the front when i had my c-section. I did use bio oil after to help to get them to calm down (go from red to skin colour). With my second i was using both bio oil and another oil Mumee (something like that). I didn't get far enough along to get any new marks so I don't know how well it would have worked. I will use bio oil this time. I already notice my existing marks are redder especially when bloated.

Oh yeah I hear stretchmarks can have something to do with genetics. Some women get none, some get a few and others get tons.

Yes, this is what I've heard as well. I'll still be rubbing stuff all over my belly but my understanding is that you get them or you don't and nothing you do really changes that. As Valasia also said I think that some products like BioOil can make the stretch marks less visible (less red) they won't prevent them or heal them completely.
