Congrats to taitertot! Glad that you were able to avoid artificial induction and that your little one wasn't too little!
flavah - great to hear that the boys are together again and doing so well.

As for me, my LO stayed breech up to the end and we ended up with a scheduled c-section last friday at 39 weeks and 1 day. The whole experience was very surreal. Little M was a healthy 8 pounds 9.5 ounces and nice and healthy. We were in the hospital for 3 days and then came home on thanksgiving monday. Recovery has been hard but oh so worth it, I'm so in love with the new man in my life. The past 6 days have been going well but we do need to improve on the sleep front - he doesn't tolerate being on his back very well, so far we've had to have someone up with him at all times to comfort and when necessary (often) hold him while he sleeps. It's been very tiring and we're hoping to get him on track for sleeping on his own but not sure the best way to get him there.

Can't wait to hear all the other arrival stories as they come in!!

Support seeker - sorry forgot but knew there was someone due around the same time as me! I hadn't heard of pupps until I read your post. I googled it and it said women with pupps more often have boys! Do you know what you are having? (sorry on phone so hard to see past posts and statuses).

Jkaren - I read that too, 70% of people who develop PUPPS have a boy. I'm having a girl, so I better be part of the 30% lol. How are you hanging in there? This rash is driving me quite literally insane. My entire body is itchy all the time. The doctor prescribed me cortisone cream and Benedryl, which I was really hesitant about taking, but with this itch, I didn't hesitate too long. Has the doctor given you an estimate of when he thinks you'll have your LO? When I went on Thursday he said he didn't think he'd see me next week. He also did a stretch and sweep to 'help me along' if I'm ready.

Support seeker -were you already dilated a bit at your last appt? How was the stretch and sweep? Was it painful? The itching sounds awful - hopefully things will start soon for you. Are you feeling anything yet?

My midwife offered to do a s & s if I wanted at my appt this week but I declined it. They haven't checked to see if I'm dilated or anything yet so no idea when things will start. I'm happy to wait for my due date - but hoping not to go too late - I've got no major complaints or discomforts so I've been lucky that way.

I've been about 2 cm dialated and 80-90% effaced at my last two visits. My doctor didn't even ask me if I wanted the s & s, but I think he knew what the answer would have been based on the discomfort of itching all over. I wouldn't describe the s&s as painful, but more like discomfort. The OB said the procedure will only be that little nudge down hill if I am ready to go into labour. I haven't felt anything yet, but have noticed changes in discharge since he did it.

AFM: My s&S was followed by full blown labour on Saturday. I woke up at 7 am and had contractions starting at 7:30. Around 9 or so I noticed green discharge. We went to the hospital and as soon I arrived my water broke. The nurses in OB triage confirmed my suspicions that the green discharge was meconium the baby passed. So they set me up and a delivery room near NICU. My contractions progressed quickly and they had me start to push but she wouldn't budge. Turn out the baby was OP and needed to be flipped. They tried to reposition me and she turned slightly, so they had to reposition me again to get her to turn. In the end the baby finally turned. They wanted to use forceps to help her out, but I convinced them to let me try a big longer and it worked. However, she had the cord tightly around her neck. In the end baby was fine, just some bruising around her neck and her lungs were clear of meconium (which was a big concern) We are now home and resting up. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Support seeker - congrats!!! What great news - glad you both are doing well. Did your rash clear up right away or does that take a while?

Flavah - nice pic! Glad to hear your little guys just keep growing.

AFM, nada. I see my midwife tomorrow and I'm curious to see if she'll want to check if I'm dilated at all, etc... Although I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything - I could still go anytime in the next couple of weeks! But I'm starting to feel more ready to do this thing! The unknown is kind of nerve-wracking. (both labor and parenting a newborn - yikes!)

wow JKaren!!! hang in there!

AFM - M is now officially 6 lbs and K is 2 ounces away from being 5 lbs. K had a hiccup along the road on the weekend, they thought he had a brain infection or meningitis so the poor guy had to have a lumbar puncture :(. The results came back negative thankfully. M was doing great and was getting closer to being discharged until he choked on his milk while being fed on Monday and stopped breathing. He had to be intubated and it's been 48 hours and he still can't manage without the ventilator *sigh* we have now officially taken a bunch of steps backwards for him sadly :(

Ladies! I wanted to finally share our happy news! Elijah was born last Wed, Nov. 2 at 10:20 pm! Weighed in at 8lbs 5 oz. 20 inches. He was born in the birthing pool at home and DH caught him in the water! What an amazing, hard, but powerful experience. He is such a perfect little miracle and we can't believe how lucky we are! Things are going well, he's nursing really well and already surpassed his birth weight - little chunker!! :).

Flavah - how did the surgery go? Sounds like your guys are doing well!

Congratulations JKaren!! Wonderful news. Sounds like the birth was a very happy event. I love the sound of a water birth. Glad the nursing is going well. I've had a hard time with it but it is finally getting better (5 weeks in). However, Flor is stacking on the weight like a trouper so obviously she wasn't having any problem with it!

Enjoy your special guy! :)

Jkaren - congrats on the arrival of your little boy!!

AFM - we're so close to having M discharged but we're going in this afternoon to talk to docs b/c I feel like we're getting the runaround and they keep giving us all this stupid excuses, i want him out of there. As for K, well his hernia surgery is either end of next week or the following week, once that happens I"m going to request that he remain at hte children's hospital no need for them to still be where they are now (hospital where i gave birth) since they are over due date (41 weeks). Both are now well into the 7lb mark so happy! K's date for surgery was cancelled and are awaiting the rescheduling hopefully sooner rathr than later
