I thought I would start this topic as I am due October 4th. I know it's a little early to start the group but what the heck, I am being positive! Ultrasound is Feb.16th and then we'll find out if there's one or two or maybe more (yikes!) IF that's the case, I will likely be due in September but why not get things started. Come join me!

Hey LauraD! I'm joining the Due Date buddies with you. My due date is Oct 6th and U/S same day as yours. How are you feeling?

I'm fine really, but bored at home. Occasional twinges, and afternoon fatigue but no nausea, boobs are fine, swollen from prometrium. Vivid dreams though, and one erotic dream last week. I was so shocked. I'd read about that being a part of pregnancy but thought it was an old wives tale, and I don't normally have those types of dreams AT ALL (I'm more the "I'm being chased" type of dreamer). I can't sleep through the night, I have to get up to pee once and sometimes twice. I wish I could see what's going on inside me. I don't feel pregnant ya know? At least if I had m/s I'd have more affirmation (albeit yucky).

Hi ladies,
I'd like to join the group too. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself as I only got the news an hour ago but I definitely need a new group of girls in my situation to chat with. My due date should be Oct 13 and my ultrasound is feb 23.

Have either of you gone crazy at chapters buying pregnancy books?

Now laura - how do I get myself one of those fancy tickers?

Hey Hoping! Congratulations! What was your Beta?
So funny you mention that - I was at Chapters today looking at some of the pregnancy books, but I resisted a purchase - they're like $30-$40! And most of the info is on the net - but the Daily Pregnancy Guide was a pretty cool book. I may have to go back for it.

The wait for the 1st ultrasound is as bad as the 2ww for Beta! I'm going nuts. Still no traditional pg symptoms, would almost be more satisfying if I had m/s! I feel like I've been fighting off a UTI for the last week. I'm trying to drink lots of fluids.

Nice to have more people in the Oct Due date pool who know what this is like!

Hi ladies,

Looks like we have all moved from our cycle buddy forum! This is all so positive!

AFM- my boobs are still sore and the twinges of pain are not as often. I feel pretty good actually. I get VERY hungry and definitely need a nap in the afternoon. I cannot wait for my u/s on the 16th. I'm really hoping for twins. What about you girls??

Tomorrow is my MIL's birthday and we will be announcing it to the family. I can hardly wait for the excitement. It's been a long wait for the family too. This will be this first grandchild on my DH's side.

Chapters is great but I resisted buying the books. My girlfriend bought me a pregnancy journal, I borrowed lots from friends and I made a trip to the public library. They have a huge selection!

As for the fancy ticker- just click on mine and it will take you to thebump.com. In the toolbar you will see "tools" and then you choose "tickers". There are a few to choose from. Kitty's is from there too! You can add as many as you like. I will just use Kitty's to look at the development since we're pretty much due at the same time.

October 8th is my due date and my first U/S is Feb 22nd. I'm really hoping both little beans have taken off.

What are you guys feeling for symptoms if any?

I've had fatigue, mild nausea, sore / huge boobs and heartburn. It's SO hard not to over analyze symptoms or lack their of. Like this am I didn't feel nauseous and I was worried. I have to admit I feel so lucky to get beginners luck and I think that's why I am so worried about miscarrying. Guess I'm finding it hard to enjoy the moment right now. Anyone else feeling this way?

Niff - i thought i was the only one over analyzing! Last few days I've been feeling fine, and not at all pregnant. I do get sleepy in the late afternoon and usually have to nap. I have not had any nausea but I am hungry more often. Today I've been having some cramping that I haven't really noticed before. Everything I read online says its normal to cramp in the first trimester but I don't really like the feeling (like AF knocking on the door). My skin is also breaking out - apparently common. I'm terrified this pregnancy will not hold on (it's my first). I wish I could get more Betas done while waiting for the U/S! Patience is not my greatest strength

I think my ticker problems are tech related, I have a question in to the moderators for help. Until then I'll just look at yours as you're only 1 week ahead of me!

My beta on Friday was 288 but I'm going back on Monday since that's the day I should have gone in so I'm just hoping that it rises sufficiently. I've been having a lot of sharp pains, especially on my right side so I'm a bit fearful that it might be an ectopic. And yes Niff, I'm also terrified of a m/c. We're not telling our parents until after the ultrasound and then other people at the end of the first trimester. It seems weird that most people's ultrasounds are around week 8 but mine is only at 7. I'm really hoping that the heartbeat is detectable. I'd much rather have to wait another week than go in and not see anything and have to return, KWIM!

It's nice to see so many familiar faces here!

Sounds like we are all first timers and feeling the same way. I have also had heartburn over the past week. I know lots of people that have had very little or no symptoms in their pregnancies so every time I do not feel anything, I just think of them. Once the bump starts growing, I think we will all feel better. I went to a maternity store yesterday and tried their fake bump on while trying on some clothes and I got all emotional. Such a good feeling! Well, heading out to church. Talk to you girls later!

I'm also terrified of m/c or eptopic. I didn't have a beta and my utlrasound isn't 'til March 4, so I think I'll be relieved when I see a heartbeat and baby in the right place.

My symptoms are sore bbs, tired in the afternoon, and sudden, crazy hunger - like have to eat right then - kind of hunger. I've also had vivid dreams, but I think I'm getting used to them. And acid reflux? - not sure if that's what it is but something like that I think. I've had more twinges the last 2 days and those are what freak me out.

I just got the call and my 18dpo beta is 950! Wow is all I have to say to that.
We only put back one so unless it split I guess we just have a nice strong single bean!

Hey Girls

Well I still have heartburn and my nausea is up and down. So terrifying when symptoms go away! The only thing I've had that is constant is blue/green veins in the bbs and heartburn and it. Fingers crossed for everything to be on track! I'm really anxious about our upcoming u/s on the 22nd! My husband is totally confident that baby or babies are growing as they should... apparently I'm a bit moody as well.

So glad to hear we are all in the same boat!

Now to attack getting me a ticker. I will update with it.

Today I had my second meltdown in three days. The first one was Saturday; uncontrollable crying. Thank you hormones!

Saturday was a weird day. I started having AF type cramps late afternoon and they went on until I went to bed at 11. I kept checking for bleeding but nope. Next morning, back to usual, little twinges. So the cramping Saturday triggered my first melt down - I thought for sure the embryo died. Since I have no real pg symptoms anyway, there's nothing to convince me otherwise. The larger bbs and the bloating and skin changes etc can all be chalked up to the progesterone supplements.

Today DH decided to spray paint old appliances inside the house, filling it with toxic fumes. Melt down #2. I had to sit on our deck in a blanket for 2 hrs (its about 8 degrees today and not raining in Vancouver for a change). I was soooo pissed.

One more week till U/S. I'm terrified. This is the only place I can share that.

Hi Ladies,

I have been a little more emotional lately too. I had a HUGE meltdown yesterday but there was a reason behind it...my mother-in-law! Read on and please give me some advice!

Yesterday, all of my MIL's family were over at her house to celebrate her birthday and we announced that we were pregnant. She knew about this before hand and told us that she wanted us to share our WHOLE story. I said, "No, it's inappropriate and that it was private and we did NOT want to tell the family." Anyways, DH announces that we are expecting a baby and MIL asks us to tell our story. I was so mad because I had already told her no. So in front of everyone, DH and I had to say no. Awkward. Then MIL starts to say that we have been trying and that after 5 years and some medical intervention, we are pregnant. I couldn't believe it. No details given but still I had told her no. That's not the worst of it. Later on after dessert, she tells everyone that she's so excited that I might have twins and that "they still have 4 leftover!" Seriously!?! I wanted to lose my mind. She goes on to tell the WHOLE group that we had IVF done. I got up, went to the washroom and texted DH telling him that it was time to go. (He was in the other room with a few of his cousins and didn't hear.) As soon as I left the house, I freaked out. Ugly cry, yelling and all. (So glad baby couldn't hear what I said!) I was crushed. I mean what does she not understand about "No"??? Could she really be so dumb? Dan was very upset too and felt bad of course because it is his mom. I feel like I do not even want to talk to her but I know that can't happen. Right now I am livid. I made it so clear that we were not sharing our story, especially not then and there. She has brought out such a rage in me. I feel completely ripped off and betrayed.

My DH went back to their house when everyone else left to talk to her and told her that I am very upset. She said that she was just so excited that she had to tell. I'm thinking, she was so excited that we got IVF or that I'm pregnant??? To top it off, she told her whole Sunday school class of grade 2s that day that I am pregnant. Seriously, I do not want to tell her anything anymore. I was hesitant to tell her about IVF but we did and I SO regret this.

What do I do????

Laura - I'm so sorry to hear about this, family can be so difficult some times but this is unreal.
Here's my suggestion but of course you should follow your heart and what you and your DH feel is right.
You said that your DH already when to speak to her, which is great, but clearly she's still not getting it. Not sure if it would be better for him to have another go or for you two talk to her together but you need to have a serious sit down with her. Explain that she violated your trust and her being 'excited' is just no excuse for this. Remind her that you told her no multiple times and she went against your wishes, sharing something that is very personal and private and that, as you've said above, her actions have made you not trust her and not want to tell her things anymore.
There's just no excuse for what she did and if she wants to maintain a good relationship with the two of you, and therefore have access to her grandchild, she needs to respect your wishes. It may be better for you to share the emotional/feelings side of things and for your DH to be the heavy hand and deliver the heavy hits.
Just my two cents

And on a personal side I'm so worried about just this type of thing with my MIL ...

Talk it out with your hubby and come up with a plan. If you're too emotional now to deal with it let her know via email or whatever that you two need some time to cool down but that a further discussion is necessary to repair some of the damage she has done and enable you three to move on.
