I am from Alberta and will be heading to BC for fertility treatment. This may mean that I will be in BC for up to 2 weeks. I have a limited # of sick days and vacation and don't want to use them all up in this trip. I was wondering if anyone had requested was approved for Short Term Disability through their work benefits?
Please let me know how this worked for you. Thanks very much!

I live in Calgary and went to the clinic in Calgary and both my ivf cycles were covered under
short-term disability with my company. Would suggest that you discuss with either your
benefits department or the insurance provider themselves. I am with Great West Life. There
was no issue at all. Hope this helps.
