Hi Everyone..
We have decided it is time to try for baby #2. We had a successful 1st try at IVF.. and have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. She will be a yr on the 18th and im ready to try again. I have to call back up there tomorrow and see what is happening. I had my pelvic u/s3 weeks ago and it was all good. I am excited and a little nervous all at the same time. Anyone else going to be doing a FET in the next xouple months? If so how long have you been waiting? Have they gave you an estimate on costs. If I recall it was going to cost $800.00 + the meds.

I am in the same boat as you. IVF #1 was a success our son is almost 15 months old. I go for my HSG tomorrow and sit back and wait for the call, thats always the hardest part isnt it!So far I have called in #1. I was very lucky because it started the morning of my appt with Dr Fong! She said to expect 2-3 months wait this time. I think the costs you stated are about right, they list it on their website I believe. Good Luck, I hope you get the call SOON!

I just wanted to update on the cost - A g/f of mine is currently doing another FET right now and they've upped the cost again this year - New Cost for FET is $1,000 + meds.

Ladies,

I am not at Foothills (I am in Montreal) but we are also in the process of planning our first FET. I was wondering, are any of you still BFing your little one? I am still BFing and think that I will need to wean him off in order to do the FET. It feels kind of 'silly' (maybe not the right word) to wean him off for the possibility of getting pregnant. Any thoughts on this?

I was told 2 months after finishing BFing and have to have had two periods. Must be a hormone thing.

Sorry to butt in but you ladies would know, why in the world do we need to update our HSG again? Mine was so painful the first time and I really do not want to go through that again. Are we able to say we don't want an HSG and push forward with a FET? I mean we're paying for the procedure anyways, so what should they care? (everything was good with the first HSG I had but since then I've had a tubal pregnancy which I know has caused painful scarring, why try and push dye through it and cause me pain kind of thinking...)

We are on the waitlist for FET, we were put on it Feb 1st ,we've just been waiting for AF to arrive so I can call in our 1st call for FET!!! She finally appeared today after a month of ' NO SHOW' I am nervous, excited, scared, happy, sad etc etc to be doing FET!!

Dr O'Keane said it would cost around $900 for the procedure & not much for meds cause you don't need much for FET. Whew, lucky cause if it was too much more I don't believe we'd be able to try for a sibling for our precious miracle baby girl. We have 3 frozen embryos & we are going to put all 3 back. Dr O'Keane said it's only 35% for FET instead of 60% for fresh so we decided that we are only going to try FET once so we are putting all we have left back.

I am still breastfeeding our DD & I don't plan on weaning her to do this cycle, it is our choice he said, they just recommend it cause you have a greater chance of them sticking if not bf'ing. DD only breastfeeds at nap time & bedtime so we decided we will continue breastfeeding.

I still have to get a Pelvic u/s & re-do the HSG but I've got time as the waitlist for FET is 3-4 months the nurse said.

I asked Dr Scott today at my HSG why it was necessary and she says they need to check the uterus to make sure there is no damage there. Im not sure how damage occurs but she said that was the only reason.

I didn't have to have another HSG done when doing FET. I asked several times to make sure but all I had to get done was an ultrasound. When I asked why, several of the nurses told me is was becaues of my age.

I just got a call from the clinic & got my appt for HSG on Weds Feb 17th at 7:30 in the morning. I can't believe we are doing this again, seems like yesterday we were doing this for the 1st time. I guess cause of my (old) age hahaha I have to get another HSG done, oh well gotta do what ya gotta do!

Hi Ladies... I was only told I had to have an u/s done, so thats what I had done. My family Dr sent in the referal about 2 months ago and thats when they called to say I had to have the u/s done to make sure everything was ok! Then she told me we would be placed on the wait list. Im not to sure what to do for the period hotline.. since my af is mesed right up. I never used to get af before I got pregnant due to pcos and now I have get it alot more than I should lol.. but they never are a "real" af... so I think I will call and ask what to due about that. I was put on b/c last ivf cycle, so maybe I shall call in and see what the suggest this time around!! I get butterflys everytime I think of it!

The wait - I was really hoping it would only be three periods as that seemed to be the normal for others on this board (some after only two). But I have not got the call yet and was wondering if anybody else has got the call this week. I am hoping that the calls are a little late this week as Monday was a holiday Positive thinking!

Went for my HSG yesterday & everything is perfect as I expected!!! So now I just have to get the u/s & keep calling in AF & wait for the call like everyone else!! Where is everyone at in their cycle??
